Best Friends to Lovers AU

Before they started dating, both A and B are best friends. Like the best friends that have known each other since they were in diapers. Whenever A would get upset, hurt or just really tired, they would snuggle up on B and nuzzle their face into the crook of B’s neck. It’s completely platonic, nothing romantic about it whatsoever. 

When A and B finally confess their feelings for one another and begin dating, A immediately snuggles up in ‘their’ spot on B and just completely relaxes. B asks why they always do this, and A replies that it makes them feel safe and calm.

netflix and (halfway) chill

“So what would we have done,” pause. “If you hadn’t,” bite. “Lost,” deep breath. “Your credit card?”

Taemin pulls back and smirks at the guy hovering above him. Jinki reaches his hand up and brushes back the hair out of Taemin’s eyes, a mumbled, “So cute,” under his breath.

Jinki smirks and leans down to kiss Taemin’s nose.

“Well first I would have taken you downtown for a couple drinks-”

“I’m not 21 yet,” Taemin says, smirking.

Jinki smiles at him and laughs, moving his hands up Taemin’s shirt.

“Well then we would have gotten something non-alcoholic to drink,” Jinki says. Taemin hums, giggling and jumping a bit when Jinki tickles up his side. “Then I would have taken you to walk around the shopping center, and then to get tacos.”

“I do like tacos.”

Taemin laughs when Jinki kisses up his neck and nips at his jaw. They roll around a bit until they’re both on their sides, and Taemin’s hand works its way down to Jinki’s waist.

“And yet here we are,” Taemin says, a smirk still on his face, “watching cartoons on Netflix and eating shitty five-dollar pizza.”

“We’re also making out,” Jinki reminds him.

Taemin laughs, and he moves to get on top of Jinki, digging his knee into Jinki’s crotch. Jinki’s hands work down Taemin’s back, cupping Taemin’s ass beneath his pants. 

“You’re so cute,” Jinki mutters into Taemin’s mouth.

“I know,” Taemin mutters back.

Jinki pinches Taemin’s ass, and Taemin laughs into the kiss. Taemin grinds his hips down onto Jinki’s, and a moan leaves the older man’s mouth. Taemin smirks and kisses down his neck.

Things are going great, and Jinki’s being really nice while Taemin’s hand is down the front of Jinki’s pants when the bedroom door opens.

“Oh Jesus, Taemin! What the fuck!” a voice calls out before the door slams shut

“Shit,” Taemin curses, rolling off the bed and pulling his pants back up. “We were not having sex!”

Jinki buttons his pants and follows Taemin out of the room.

“You could warn a guy!” his roommate shouts.

“I sent you the shirt and tie emoji, what the fuck did you think that meant?” Taemin shrieks.

“I thought you were just being a dumbfuck again, as usual!”

“I’m insulted.”

“I’m gonna go,” Jinki says. “I’ll text you later?”

“Oh, okay,” Taemin says, nodding his head.

When the door closes, Jinki hears the lock click, and he also hears Taemin shout, “WAY TO BE A COCKBLOCK, KAI, WHAT THE FUCK!”

Jinki laughs the entire way back to his car, and he texts Taemin when he gets back to his own apartment that they should get tacos on Saturday. Taemin sends a taco emoji to him, along with the sunglasses emoji. Jinki can only laugh and shake his head.
