A tasty change from regular brownies are these Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars. These are the perfect sweet and salty treat! They have layers of buttery cookie dough, gooey caramel, and rich chocolate chips, and sea salt on top.
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted. 1 cup brown sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 cup chocolate chips. 1/2 cup caramel sauce. Sea salt, for sprinkling.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 175F 350C. Prepare a 9x9-inch baking pan by greasing it and lining it with parchment paper. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl with a whisk. Melt the butter and add the brown sugar to a large mixing bowl. Mix everything together well. Mix the egg and vanilla extract into the butter. Mix until it's smooth. Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix them together until they are just barely combined. Add the chocolate chips and mix them in. Press down evenly on half of the cookie dough that has been spread out in the baking pan that has been prepared. Spread the caramel sauce out evenly over the cookie dough layer. On top of the caramel, crumble the rest of the cookie dough. Add sea salt on top. After the oven is hot, bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Let it cool all the way down before cutting it into bars.
