Diving into God’s Word ✝️
I grew up being told I was a Christian. I needed to act like a young woman of God. I needed to live by God’s Word. And more importantly, don’t question God.
The first time I can really remember all of this being told to me, was a time I’d questioned God. I was told to immediately pray for forgiveness and never do it again, because I’d go to hell. From that point on, I was lost and confused 😅
My pastor once said that we’re going to have questions. We can’t fully understand God and all that He is and what comes with Him, but doesn’t that make worshipping and praising Him more worthwhile? He’s awesome. He’s all knowing. He works in mysterious ways. It’s what pulls you closer to Him.
I just bought a Bible. The prettiest one I came across that I’d feel more inclined to pick up, because I didn’t know a lick about God’s Word. The more I read it, the more I want to know and more I feel grateful that I’ve been able to use my own discernment in seeking the Lord. But one question that kept creeping up on me (especially in Numbers 😅) was “is all of this reading going to do anything to me?” Which it has, but there are moments when you first get into something new that make you wonder what the meaning behind them are. Then I got a notification for the Verse of the day, and it was the EXACT verse that I was on. It only proved more to me that God absolutely listens to His children.
Even when things are confusing or feel a little mundane, God sees your effort and knows you heart. As humans, it tends to be hard to believe in something we can’t “see.” But the *slightest* bit of faith can mean (and change) a whole lot more than you think.
