Chris and Phichit fake-date to troll Yuuri and Victor epic style, but they suck at fake dating because they’re bad liars, so they basically just real date and call it fake dating and they fall in love and get married, but it’s all for the meme.

(It was Chris’ idea because he wanted to up his sex appeal and get more interviews, and he felt like dating was doing wonders for Victor and Yuuri’s image. Phichit just liked the idea of roasting Yuuri epic style.)

a bit on hamsters and phichit’s cuteness in chris’ eyes.

‘you know, i never thought i’d ever see anything more adorable than my dear kitten, but in this moment, i realize i was wrong,’ chris says one evening, suddenly, apropos of nothing, while they lounge on their bed, relaxing after a long day.

phichit looks from where he’s petting and nuzzling one of his hamsters, blinking confusedly at chris. the other three are snoozing on and around him.

after a second of silence, his eyes grow wide as dinner plates, and a deep flush spreads across his cheeks and the bridge of his nose, and dammit, he hates it that this still happens.

‘one of these days i will stop being so surprised when you call me adorable, i swear,’ he says, trying and failing to hide his face in his hamster’s fur. ‘you’d think i’d get used to is after so much time. you’d think i’d stop flushing like a teenager now that we’re married.’

chris laughs at that, soft and almost teasing, and leans closer to kiss phichit’s forehead. phichit kind of wants to smother him, though he’d not sure if with a pillow or with kisses.

‘i hope you never stop flushing like that, mon cher,’ chris whispers in his ear, and it sends a small shiver down his spine. ‘it’s too sweet. i would be very sad.’

phichit groans. ‘why did i marry you?’

‘because you love me very much?’ and there are kisses trailing from his ear up his cheeks, before brushing against his lips, soft, and warm. phichit sighs in pleased delight.

‘yes. i guess you’re right.’

‘i think you should put your babies to their beds now…’ says chris against his mouth, intent clear in his voice.

phichit, face even redder, doesn’t think he’s ever scooped up his hamsters faster in his life.

im rly fond of viktuuri figurin out that chrischit are starting to Feel Things for each other, before phichit and chris figure out themselves. yuuri casually pulling viktor aside like "i don't know chris as well as you, but is he flirting? phichit is definitely flirting, but i'm pretty sure chris is flirting back". they're prob in that "what no?? don't u sit on ur bro's lap and cuddle against his chest and give him soft kisses on his shoulder??" stage for embarrassingly long b4 they Understand

chris and phichit are both naturally flirty/affection so its pretty easy for them to pass their behavior as just fun flirty friendship but victuuri Knows them and knows that they obviously have feelings for each other even if they dont really know it yet. this mutual pining

personally i feel like phichit would be aware pretty early on that he has a crush on chris but thinks that its platonic joking on chris’ end so he doesnt dwell on it unless chris is being like. really cute and then phichit has to sadly pet a hamster and mourn his singleness 

meanwhile sweet chris has like….. no idea whats going on like maybe he thought phichit had a crush on him as first but as they hang out more hes like -nah thats just how phichit acts- and furthermore he doesnt even realize how much he himself loves phichit until like.. maybe one day theyre skyping and its night for phichit and like mid afternoon for chris and phichit is quite obviously struggling to stay awake and he eventually falls asleep and chris just sits there watching him for an hour and then hes like Oh. OR they have movie nights and theyre watching the king and the skater for the nth time and phichit is sorta joking nonchalantly “i cant believe youre letting me pick this again you must really love me” and chris laughs and he spends the entire movie thinking “fuck i DO really love him” OR its victuuri’s wedding, which they have both been helping plan together for months and of course its literally the most romantic thing anyone on this planet has ever been to in their lives and chris gives a very very funny and also very sweet speech which basically ends with “i can only hope to be so lucky to find someone i love as much as viktor and yuuri love each other” and he realizes as he’s saying it that he’s staring at phichit and phichit looks SO handsome and chris has had the time of his life with him the past few months and he doesnt want it to end

ofc in all scenarios they end up happily in love 💕💕💕
