Ai-Kon: A Haiku

Pfft! Are you kidding not even a haiku could sum up my Friday and Saturday at Ai-Kon!

Or could I?

So many cosplays, Fan girl squee and autographs So going next year!

A valant effort if I do say so myself! I had SO much fun at my first AiKon! So much to take in!

So, Friday we headed out to AiKon after work in time to catch the Funimation panel before J. Michael Tatum. I must admit that a few new shows piqued my interest. I still really need to catch up on all the shows that Erica has shamelessly got me hooked on! Then came the piece de resistance... J. Michael Tatum! He has a lovely voice and an amazing sense of humour. Fan girl squees were abound. I know if I were at a Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch or a Johnny Depp panel I would have been just as giddy. So at times I couldn't help but feel like a complete n00b! :) You've got to start somewhere though, right?

Erica was super happy that he picked her for a question, in truth it made me happy too. It's not every day your idol points you out! I got the whole thing on video for her. Granted not great. I really wish I had a better camera. But it sufficed.

After walking around on Friday evening I started getting excited for dressing up on Saturday. I had made a middle school costume for Haruhi Fujioka... in Wonderland and complete with banana prop. Erica went as Hikaru's Cheshire cat. It absolutely appealed to my love of Wonderland. Though I think if we're going next year I really want to step up my cosplay game. I love making costumes. I'm already thinking about my halloween costume that I have to make.

We really lucked out on Saturday and made it to the autograph session, just in time too as we were literally to last row of people in line for autographs. I'm glad that the people who didn't get a chance were given first chance for autographs on Sunday.

Not only did I get autographs from Greg Ayres, Chris Patton and J. Michael Tatutm I ask if they'd pose with my banana!

I'll just leave these puppies right here. I will likely post more pictures later but these are too fun not to post now!
