Just thinking abt the way blackness is demonized. Thinking about #BlackIsKing. Thinking about folk that have never studied anything but the Bible and YouTube videos calling a thing they have no context for demonic. Knowing factually you don’t know what you’re talking abt because it’s often labeled #Voodoo when it is very decidedly NOT Voodoo and very contrary to the actual practices of Voodoo/Vodou. Thinking about how how excellence is often credited to the Illuminati. Thinking about the phrase I coined when I realized my own CDF, #ChristianDemonicFilter, and how it literally is the central gaze through which we judge all things whether we know what we’re talking abt or not. Thinking about the lack of co text used when interpreting sacred text. Thinking abt the first time I heard my nephews speak out loud the idea of a white God and a white Jesus... their surprise slight disbelief when I read their skin and hair too similar for Jesus to have been anything but Black. Thinking about the critique of a religion that has been displaced from Africa and taught from the perspective of folk that weren’t mentioned anywhere from Genesis to Revelations as being in authority. Thinking about the ways we surrender God as Emmanuel (God with us) for God as the sky (White bearded throated God with no intimate relationship to us). I am just thinking that maybe if we believed that Salvation was complete we could find God in ourselves and love her... love her fiercely!
