Nearly done! I may have to pause on the final touches of this one as I discovered, to my horror, I don’t have another of my favourite white pencils - one of the only ones that can make decent highlights - and so I am about to do a art supplies order (Oh no, what a shame...)

Little robin, all ready for varnishing! The paint is starting to move in an expected way. It is starting to make sense. Loved using layers, and using a warm base to start - who here prefers alla prima, or do you set up a base colour first?

What's your favourite birb? I can't choose mine, but I do so love a robin! I am wrapping up on my last two commissions for the year, getting a little bit of time in every so often to work on my pastel robin. I am looking forward to starting on the branch and see how much detail I can get in!
