After idly running her digits through her dark locks, Taeyeon stared at her hands for a while, then began toying with the sole silver ring that adorned her right pointer finger. She pressed her lips together then allowed her gaze to slowly fall on the girl before her and blinked as though the latter shone too bright for her eyes to take. Seemingly, she had drifted away for a moment, daydreaming rather than listening to Jisoo. Rudely so. But her statement had caught her attention.
“You know… I have read this somewhere and found it disturbingly accurate-” the older completed, her hands now in front of her face, forming invisible quotation marks with her fingers curled. “Nothing lasts forever. And that’s both good and bad news.”
Afterwards, her elbows found the shiny surface of the table and her chin fell into her hands, resting. The woman eyed her friend intently and allowed a frustrated huff to escape her lips, though it was tacit . Most of times, the evanescence of precious possessings was bad news. A true disaster.

Only then does he realize he had his hands buried deep into the pockets of his fleece pants. He’s unsure whether it’s done to combat the cool breeze she’s likely referring to or out of pure habit, but either way, the realization keeps him from contradicting her statement. Instead, he gives a nod of agreement, then looks to his left, where the hotel’s doors were rotating every so often as guests fled in and out, disrupting the foyer’s snug temperature with the air of the late August night. “The seasons are changing, huh?” He offers, his gaze pulled away from the doors to look towards her again. It wasn’t cold cold — of course it wasn’t, summer was lingering (albeit late in the season) but the weather had been noticeably cooler in recent days; the humid, high twenties switched out for breezy, slightly lower temperatures.
He was lingering in the lobby of the hotel after he’d forgotten an item in one the rental vehicles; his manager had offered to retrieve it for him before they’d proceed to grab a meal. Her reason for loitering, though, he wasn’t sure — he would’ve asked, had she not spoken up with choice words first. He’d gathered that their respective groups were attending the same event in Tokyo over the weekend and seemed to have settled in the same hotel, too, but that’s as much as his inferencing skills had put together. He’d take a shot at unraveling the rest from her, he decides, when he takes to throwing out a casual question. “Are you planning to go out? I think I’d recommend a light sweater to go with that ensemble.”

“sexy french accent?” recalling the words back came with a tinge of confusion, her brows raising before it truly sunk in and they were on the same page, laughter being the immediate scapegoat following her attempt to brush it off. pretty much all the french she could recall knowing was either je t’aime, bonjour, or the small phrases heard in the pink panther. and those were typically nonsense statements, so there wasn’t much point to begin with.
cue the clearing of her throat and a small cough. “bonjour… mademoiselle… je t’aime ma belle? merci… merci! bizu… croissant… yum. jennie éclair, oui oui?” and there went the random slur, a combination of words she could pick up on that frankly had no alluring accent to them, more-so than not laced with confusion as she faltered on her words in the attempts to be prepared to have something to say after. “au revoir!”
Behind the judgment which glinted within eyes was a boiling humour, slowly but surely bubbling and soon to steam into the air. The younger female folded her arms across her chest, feigning disgust at the unintelligible skit which only continued to flow from the older friend. For a fleeting second, Jennie managed to hold herself together, but all that shattered into a shamble of mirth when the utterance of her name graced ears.
Laughter broke her silence like a stone to glass, a bright array of hysterics clouding the air. “Jennie éclair? Jennie... éclair---?” eyebrows heightened, disbelief shadowing features, “Eonnie, did you just call me an éclair? Seriously...” Trailing off, the female shook her head, a smile hiding atop of lips as her head slipped down. Such antics were to be assumed from Jisoo, yet, here Jennie was once more, baffled by the continuous spiral of nonsense that seemed to never end. “Sometimes I wonder how you come up with this ridiculous stuff. You’re really so weird.”

“This tree?” He repeated with an almost puzzled tone. “What’s so special about this tree for us to do that…” His gaze traveled over the tall standing tree, muttering mainly to himself as he still couldn’t figure out the aim. “You’ve been watching too many movies noona, there’s nothing special about this…but I’m not going to burst your bubble so-” he paused to look around “what do we use to do it with ?”
“fill your heart with bees. if someone breaks your heart then they have to deal with the bees.”

touché, he thinks. now, this isn’t quite what he expected to hear, but that’s the thing with jisoo; she’s a breath of fresh air, always unpredictable, constantly taking him by surprise in one way or another.
‘i never knew being platonically heartbroken was a thing.’ until now. but friends can break your heart in ways you’ve never imagined, and he’s learned it the hard way. perhaps he should’ve seen it coming (people come and go; it’s a story as old as time), and perhaps now isn’t the time to worry about his heart (he’s got places to go and dreams to fulfill; he’s got stars in his eyes and a bright future ahead), but abandonment stings, and there’s nothing he can do about it.
‘i’d rather have the bees fill my heart with honey. that way, i’d never be sad again. i’d also probably get diabetes, but that’s another story.’

While Seungri didn’t look like it, there was countless things running through his mind. He didn’t want to think about them too much; one might just go insane from the amount of it.
After more than ten years of experience in the industry, he knew how to look and be fine, in spite of the endless problems and worries coming his way. One of the ways to keep himself from being too stressed was keeping himself occupied and distracted. Be it his businesses, solo work, parties and social circles-- there was hardly any time where he wasn’t busy. Furthermore, he thought this was a productive use of something as golden as time. It was like a two-in-one deal for him.
And all that gave him the opportunity to be able to focus and listen to others more; to see if he could help in any way. If not, it would still always pave way for a new conversation.
“What do you use the stove for if you do use it?” Seungri chuckled. “Me? Oh, you know~ businesses, training, parties, hanging out with friends. I’m going to fight in a jiu jitsu tournament soon. I’m nervous and excited at the same time.” His clenched fists shook just thinking about it. “How about you? Oh, and your comeback with the girls look amazing! As to be expected from you ladies.”
