Can we hear more about Cirque Du DuPont? It just seems like such a cool concept!
You most definitely can! @imsparky2002 @booksrbetterthanpeople @nerdy-chocomallow
Marinette spent over a month on everyone’s costumes, making sure they were perfect and that her classmates would be able to perform in them. She may or may not have gotten some ideas from some Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel looks, but who’s judging?
Marinette would have been comfortable just making the costumes, as she doesn’t consider herself much of a performer. However, everyone had to play a part, so she decided to be Max’s magician’s assistant
Adrien was a bit unsure about his ability to lead the show, but everyone assured him he was going to be amazing. Sure enough, his charisma and energy shined and he was the backbone of the entire production
Alya and Nino worked incredibly hard and long on their trapeze act. They combined their parkour skills with the acrobatic prowess they’ve gained as heroes.
They eventually felt so confident with their act that they wanted to do it without a net, but their parents quickly vetoed that idea
To prep for her tightrope act, Chloe spent hours working on her balance on a rope in her room. On one afternoon, Zoe walked in to ask her sister something and found her balanced on a rope, standing on one foot, books balanced on her head and a flower vase in each hand
Chloe actually used some of her ballet training for some tricks on the rope, including a jumping full pirouette that made the crowd gasp
Sabrina is not only able to juggle swords, she also has impeccable aim, so it was her idea to add a segment where she hit bullseyes throwing swords at several targets set oddly around her performance area
Rose and Juleka worked for weeks to perfect their clown act. They decided to go with a cute clown couple angle with several sweet but funny moments of them courting each other in a clown-like fashion. The audience loved it
One of the most loved moments in the show was when they snuck up behind Adrien and mimicked his movements for several minutes with him none the wiser. It had the entire audience in stitches
It was Alix’s idea to incorporate her rollerblades into her daredevil act. She had half pipes set up around the prop cannon she was fired out of (it was actually a springboard mechanism Max had designed) that she performed tricks on after she landed
Kim’s parents helped him develop a stretching regimen for before each rehearsal and performance to make sure he didn’t hurt himself
Kim likes to have fun, so for his contortionist act, he decided to add a segment where he would bend into different shapes and the audience would try to guess what he was meant to be. The kids in the audience had a lot of fun with it
Max is a man of science, and he used this technical know-how to enhance the tricks he did. He used animatronic legs during the sawed-in-half trick that got up and walked around the stage and hologram tech to make it look like he duplicated himself
People who watched the show are still unsure if he actually developed a form of teleportation when Marinette disappeared from the stage and reappeared in the audience
Prior to the show, Mylene, with Brecken’s help, made introductory posts for all the puppies and kittens who participated in her act on the promotional Instagram they used for the show. This played a big part in landing each of the little critters in loving new homes after the show
She made it clear from the bell that she was not going to use a traditional whip or stool with the animals during her act. She stuck with toys, hoops and treats to motivate and direct them to perform the tricks
Ivan actually accomplished the biggest deadlift he’d ever done during the first show, and it was adorable how excited both he and Kim got about it
So many of their fellow students asked to see him flexing or feel his biceps after the show, that Mylene eventually pulled her boyfriend down and publicly made out with him to send the message that he was taken
Nathaniel worked with Miss Mendeliev before the show to figure out how to make different colors with the fire he used just to make the show more fun. He even figured out how to make a rainbow effect which he did while flashing a heart sign in Marc’s direction
Let me know what you think!
And if you’re curious what their costumes looked like…wait and see…
