Honestly a lot of y'all on the other side of the discourse need to read the links you're posting to prove aphobic oppression because I just read some "acephobia master post" where the first link basically just said Kinsey knew about asexuality but didn't research it a lot like lmao do you even know what oppression is? And the second post was an ask to an ace blog and I didn't even read past the second sentence because they started off with 'I don't believe ace people are oppressed" lmao good job undermining your own argument

Because these cishet aces are so against gatekeeping apparently now everyone and anyone can identify as LGBTQIDPFOSBFROO and throw around the word qu**r because you can brand any personal experience with whatever label and if you get questioned you're being "erased and invalidated"

Even if you were fired for "being ace" it's not the same as being fired for being gay, which is literally sanctioned by many state governments and even where it doesn't exist politicians are desperately trying to push forward anti-gay legislation. This alone is just in regards to the US which is one of the more progressive countries. Like I consider myself lucky to live in a country where if I'm in the wrong place and get injured hospitals have the legal right to deny me access.

Please stop saying that the LGBT community is for groups that don't fit into "the norm" because it encourages the idea that LGBT people aren't normal.

I'm bothered by these anecdotes written by presumably aroace people about how they tell a person that they're ace and they proceed to become upset as this other person continues to come on to them, but honestly if you say "I'm ace" that has little to no bearing upon how you navigate relationships in life saying "I'm ace" doesn't tell me if you're sex positive or not, sex craving or not, interested in entering a romantic relationship or not, etc. It tells me almost nothing.

I think it’s great to be proud and out as an aro and or ace person. I think it’s great if you guys want to create a community, but honestly the fact that people use the same term to describe radically different experiences shows me that there is no consistent community wide oppression towards the aroace community. Like there are so many universal experiences among mlm and wlw.
