Canon Powershot SX730 HS Taken on 12/01/2019. Cisterna d'Asti stands on the crest of a high hill at 357 metres above sea level. It is the only place in the province of Asti that is geographically and geologically part of Roero, an area characterized by sandy soils that shape the characteristic strongholds called 'rocche'. Immersed among the orderly vineyards, the area around Cisterna d'Asti also has woods crossed by excellent hiking trails leading to medieval wine towns like Canale (in the Cuneo province) and San Damiano d'Asti (clearly in the Asti province). The must-see monument has to be the village's castle which, although transformed into a residence in the 17th Century, still retains a high tower from the 13th Century and an imposing wall. It now houses 'Il Museo Arti e Mestieri di un Tempo' ('The Museum of Arts and Crafts of the past') that contains more than 3000 objects from Cisterna d'Asti and the surrounding area. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: Cisterna d'Asti can be reached by bus ('GTT') from Asti and/or San Damiano d'Asti, Monday to Saturday. ______________________________________ #cisternadasti #ig_asti #langheroeromonferrato #langheroero #italia #italy #italianvillages #italytour #traveltoitaly #viaggiamoinitalia #piedmont #iloveitaly #italythroughmyeyes #whatitalyis #bemoreitalian #bellaitalia #cnntravel #travelmood #travelbug #throwbackthursday #bestdestinations #wonderfulplaces #igersitalia #visitpiemonte #ig_piemonte #roadtopiemonte #thehub_piemonte #yallerspiemonte #yallersitalia #openmyworld (at Cisterna d'Asti) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDRvi-goaYg/?igshid=xzba300flte
