South Carolinians are asking good questions? How?

My fellow South Carolinians or if you're just bored, contact this school and ask them how can you get a degree that normally takes two years in just six months like the unqualified candidate of SC state superintendent of education, Ellen Weaver? I've already contacted them. Because I'm genuinely curious. I mean can I just get a PhD in six months? Can I just skip huge components normally required? They are allowing Weaver to skip doing her capstone project. This is not right.

I believe Ellen Weaver is a puppet and those who want to dismantle public education and prioritize private schools are working really hard to get her elected. SC's government may truly be corrupt. This is going to hurt many children in this state and mainly those of color and of poverty. And we're about to have a lot more poverty in this state due to the recent Roe V Wade decision. One of my classes had us going over data and just in St. Andrews, we have about 20% living below poverty.

If you're a parent or auntie/uncle the upcoming election in November should be very important to you. There is a lot at stake.

Flashback Friday! I’ve loved seeing everyone’s collections for @wheel-of-fish’s challenge 😍 I’ve been a bit bummed that I can’t take a summary shot of my collection because it’s spread out/disorganized/in storage, but then I remembered I have this gem...

Memories, high school graduation style.

So my high school was fairly large (and famous for the rose bushes out front), and our graduating class did a decent job of filling half the football field, at least. I was seated about 2/3 of the way back. 

As graduation ceremonies will, there were a number of very boring speeches. At one point, the monotony was slightly broken by our rival high school (from a much higher income part of town) hiring a plane to fly overhead with a banner stating their class ruled. (there was also the time they spraypainted our roses with their school colors - killing the plants - and then mocked the dead bushes at the big game). 

The monotony was really broken during the valedictorian's speech (at least for me and anyone seated behind me - probably the audience too). I don't know who did it, but suddenly a giant inflatable penis bounced overhead, landed a row ahead of me. I'm talking 6 ft at least. 

That would have been awesome enough, but one of the teachers decided to tackle the problem. Literally tackle it. 

She was a tiny woman. Smaller than the penis. And suddenly jumped on top of it, like a cowboy on a bucking bronco. And started STABBING IT WITH HER EARRING. 

Just... picture that. We're all sitting there in our graduation robes, laughter spreading out from where the giant dick landed, and it's v e r y s l o w l y deflating as a tiny tiny woman is full-on lying on top of it, stabbing repeatedly with a little bitty earring. 

Best. Graduation. Ever.

BJU Graduates in good standing are mad too:

Bob Jones University either you have totally devalued the rigor and value of your master’s degrees or you have bowed to political expedience in taking the steps to confer a master’s degree in what will be only 6 months that Weaver is supposed to finish your program. Remember your founder said, “It’s never right to do wrong in order to get a chance to do right.” In my 7 years as a student and faculty member there, you NEVER conferred a masters degree in 6 months to a full time student much less one who is politically campaigning and working part time to finish a master’s degree.🤥

Again, the rigor and value of your programs could have drastically declined since I was there, so I’d love to hear more about how you justify this 6 month master’s degree! If you wrongly grant it, you have TOTALLY devalued all the students you forced to work hard to truly EARN their degree from your school! I guess you no longer “do right till the stars fall” unless it fit’s your agenda and expedience.

I encourage you to call BJU and ask for the accelerated Masters program. They will tell you to call Ellen Weaver’ campaign and then hang up. I guess the 6 month option is not for the public. I also asked to audit the classes. I was told they would not answer anymore of my questions.

I found this while going through a box of old shit I wanted to toss because my apartment is too cluttered for me to think straight.

I wrote this in my senior year of high school for a graduate class anthology collection.

I don't usually write poetry. I had other short stories included in the anthology. Reading them struck a nerve because I am of the same mind of the person who wrote them, twenty three years ago.

This is my poem. This is how I felt. This is how I feel. But will I ever change? Can I?
