Of course! If the class works hard enough for something in particular or have developed individually throughout the year, I would have to say that they should all be allowed the chance to celebrate their achievements!

Otherwise, they won't ever know when to treat themselves in the future for something they did.

For those who have birthdays on or near the holiday it was like you had a birthday at school.

My birthday is on Valentine’s Day so there was the party and got Valentines on my birthday.

I believe there is a magic formula to planning classroom parties.  It’s about finding that perfect balance between active games and more calm activities, such as crafts.  Here is my basic formula that I have adopted after planning several of these parties:

Kids love class parties. They love the tiny mass-marketed Valentine’s Day cards that train them to be dutiful consumers (“You are a Super Friend, Valentine!”).

Week Five UFOs....What a week!!

This week was one for the books, and not necessarily in a good way.  A entire day was spent waiting for the new internet service to be installed.  Another day was spent cutting out more projects to be finished.  Prep work is necessary but there isn’t much to show for all the hard work.
