I don’t consume those types of “how to look high class”/“what rich people do” content because they’re often ridiculous. But the one exception I have is how rich people use the internet/social media. They know something we don’t.

And when I say rich I’m not talking about influencers and celebrities. Anybody that makes their living being seen on a screen doesn’t count. I’m talking about old money and billionaires. They know something about data and privacy. There is something prudent about making yourself invisible and unreachable to strangers in a world that overshares. For working class people, I think being more private online is a form of protection in an increasingly powerful surveillance culture.

I always find louis sentences deconstructed when speaks.. For ex. when he says " “Never ask me this, the ‘what is your favorite superpower’ like, ask me one more time. That’s a question I don’t like.”" Especially the end of his sentences. I don't know if it's a northerner thing or because he didn't finish high school or just because he speaks to fast. Also a friend told me last time that people saying me instead of my was usually looked down upon (people with bad education)

Hmm. Sometimes I get asks and really think that Ralph @dogsliampaynedoesntinstagram would be better at answering it. So I’m going to invite her to hijack but also put something out there.

Judging people based on their grammar, speech pattern, and education is something that we have to kick against if we want to live in a just world. And I think that what Louis is doing right now is important. He KNOWS how to change the way he speaks to sound better educated or higher class or like he’s from somewhere other than Doncaster. And he’s specifically said, FUCK THAT. He’s a multi-millionaire who is proud of his town and his accent. And I’d imagine also wants others who are looked down on to feel proud of who they are as well, without needing to have millions of dollars. He’s told stories about being told he’s 10% too British. About how people have tried to change the way he sings. What he’s doing matters. 

I’m sure I didn’t articulate that as well as I’d like. Anyone who has something relevant here, please feel free to add.

I’ll be honest I think that anon saying Louis “didn’t finish high school” (Untrue) and that’s why he speaks the way he does is super classist. There’s nothing unusual about people speaking in more fragmented or disjointed sentences or going off on tangents in casual conversation. He isn’t giving a lecture.

That is what I was trying to say. (Although I’m not sure I did it very well).
