Bacon Swiss Patty Melts are the ultimate comfort food, featuring juicy beef patties, crispy bacon, and Swiss cheese sandwiched between slices of rye bread. The creamy Dijon-mayo dipping sauce adds an extra layer of flavor to this classic sandwich.
Ingredients: 4 slices of bacon. 4 beef patties. 8 slices of Swiss cheese. 8 slices of rye bread. 1/4 cup of butter. 1/2 cup of mayonnaise. 1/4 cup of Dijon mustard. 1/4 cup of diced onions. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: In a pan over medium-low heat, cook the bacon until it's crispy. Take it off and let it dry on paper towels. Add salt and pepper to the beef patties. In the same skillet over medium-high heat, cook them for three to four minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they're done the way you like them. In the last minute of cooking, add a slice of Swiss cheese to each patty to melt it. Melt half of the butter over medium heat in a different pan. I put two pieces of rye bread in the pan and spread the rest of the butter over the top of them. Put a cooked beef patty with melted cheese on one slice of bread. Then put two slices of bacon and a tablespoon of diced onions on top of the patty. Put another slice of Swiss cheese on top, then another slice of rye bread with the butter side up. About 3 to 4 minutes on each side, grill the sandwich until the bread is golden and the cheese melts. To make the other sandwiches, do the same thing again with the rest of the ingredients. Put Dijon mustard and mayonnaise in a small bowl and mix them together to make a sauce for dipping. The Bacon Swiss Patty Melts should be served hot, with the dipping sauce on the side.
