Having seen quite a bit on whether self-study vs classroom learning is most advantageous when beginning a language (and even at intermediate stages), I thought I would jump in and speak a bit about my preferences in the hope that it's somewhat useful.
I have learned several languages over many years (some in school which I then never looked at again and some more recently as a result of my picking up and developing a newfound hobby for languages).
I can definitely say that I prefer classroom, interactive learning over self study, especially at the beginner level. At this, I seem to find myself in a minority (aka no one else on the internet seems to advocate for a classroom approach). But why do I prefer classroom learning and what are some of the benefits?
The main reasons (and benefits) for me come from a logistical point of view:
Reexamining U.S. history textbooks to promote equality in the classroom
The nationwide protests over racial injustice are sparking concerns about inequality in school curriculums. Experts urge scrutiny of U.S. history textbooks, which often include racist descriptions or omissions of Black history.
NBC News’ Rehema Ellis reports.
Am I supposed to post. Like finished pieces?
Well too bad
