Summary:

Sylvie was sixteen when she got an invitation to the gifted program. Now, from her experience, gifted programs were places for nerds when their parents got exhausted of them. And she was fine with that. Except "gifted" might mean something different than what she imagined. Now, she's been sucked into a world full of magical plants, multiple realms, and monsters that smell a little too much like her school bathrooms. If that was it, perhaps Sylvie could have adjusted. However, along with these new changes in her life, there's also an entity that wants to destroy it all. This adventure, squeezed into a novella, is the start of an exploration of human connection and how it affects power, in the eyes of a girl who has seen too much. It's a tale of both fantasy and magic, along with our reality.

seriously can we kill the word Wholesome now. Also what the fuck is a True Young Adult and how is it different from a New Adult.

When they say "accessible" I think they're talking about "books that everyone can read because they don't need content labels" since this is something they frequently bring up and is listed on the banner on their website:

I also love the implication that even though their books are "clean, wholesome, and pure" they're somehow not appropriate for a 12-year old?

I don't think you can actually recommend a book you've never read before. I don't think that's how recommendations work, but it's probably how you think it works if you're a parent who wants to control every thought and idea your child has access to.

"Clean isn't meant to be the opposite of dirty" well actually, that's what it is according to the dictionary. But it's nice that you've provided examples of what you consider to be unclean. Also I just really hate the use of "clean YA" like it's a genre. They're not the only ones using this term but in general it's annoying af.

It's important to note that Blink is an imprint of Zondervan, a division of HarperCollins Christian Publishing because of course it is. They don't mention this anywhere I can find on the Blink website, and their target audience isn't Christian readers, but rather the general public. But it's an imprint run by a Christian division, and it's starting to go mask off with the Christofascist marketing.

Hi there! I don't know if you mean age wise for the characters, or "rating"-wise. For age, there are a ton of sapphic YAs out there. If you want a few recs for those shoot me another message!
