Tutorial PSA: Creating Custom Loading Screens
Huge thanks to @adinc-sims for creating a template, which you can grab over here.
Apparently it’s very easy to create one of these. Here’s my very basic (and hopefully helpful) guide:
1) Download a custom loading screen. This will be your base.
2) Open up the file with SimPE.
3) Once the file is open, right click on it and choose export. Place it somewhere you’ll remember.
4) Open up A. D.’s template and go ham with your design. Once it is ready, SAVE as a .png. This is because the transparency is needed to show the tile screens loading. Otherwise it will just be flat white tiles.
5) Once you are happy with the results, go back to your open file in SimPE. Right click and choose replace.
You’ll notice that when you open the folder with your new image it does not show in SimPE. Make sure to select “all files” in the file type.
You’ll briefly get a pop-up from SimPE saying they need to refresh the file, so go ahead and say yes. Once that’s done your new image will load up in SimPE.
6) Save it as a new file entirely, and place it wherever you have your backgrounds (this will depend on whether you use @greatcheesecakepersona‘s amazing random screen generator or prefer to stick with one option).
7) Fire up your game and enjoy your monstrosity creation.
If you’re sharing your file please use this as tag #ts2:loadingscreen so we can find each other’s new screens and grab them! Unless someone can think of a shorter and easier hashtag to find custom screens?
Expect some updates & localization fixes for chromatica sims loading screen
Within next post expect a discord server link for this project. Have fun simmers :D !!! EDIT: And now, while I’m still here, here’s the localization update of wonderful loading screen that chromatica sims made. Some languages did not have the updated logo. You will need both the original mod and my update, placed in Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Mods > Packages folder for this to work. My CAS REVAMP mod is officially available for everyone!! Update, modernize and make Create a Sim even more beautiful with this mod!: Cas Revamp - Thumbnails Naturais - BoringBones
A new interface mod is hot off the press. This time, inspired by Project Rene, it serves as a COMPLEMENT to the CAS mod Ultimate UI Overhaul I previously created. In other words, they are compatible and can be used together!
I embraced colors and gradients to bring a friendlier and more relaxed atmosphere to The Sims 3. The interface now features more curves while remaining minimalist, prioritizing the elements that are truly necessary for gameplay.
Check out some screenshots of the new UI below <3
The interface is also compatible with the Store mode as usual.
The mod should be available for download later today for supporters. I'll let you know as soon as it's ready with a post linking to it. So, what do you think of the result?
