Anwar: Nation has no room for clumsy administration

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 1, 2015:

As the world ushers in the New Year, Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reminded the nation that it does not have the room to be administered clumsily and without a clear direction.

Anwar, who is also PKR de facto leader, having just returned from his family vacation, said the country should strive to continue being driven boldly, to stand as an independent and democratic country that is based on the Constitution.

Experienced Guidance & Clear Direction

Recently I drove to South Lake Tahoe with my family for a relaxing before the new year and before starting a new job. This was my first true snow experience, driving in it, putting on snow chains and enjoying it. However, I learned an important social media lesson for 2013.

Since I was inexperienced in the snow I had never driven in it, which honestly was intimidating especially in a front wheel drive 4 cylinder car. Not being used to the feel if the snow under the tires, the feel stopping or knowing how to judge where the lanes were it was very nerve racking. In all honesty it scared me!  What I discovered is that I needed guidance from someone with experience.

In the car with me was my wife and two 1/2 year old son, both without experience.  The lack of experience in our vehicle combined with the lack of direction while following another vehicle created a stressful situation. Through this I learned how important it is to have experienced guidance and clear direction. This translates into social media as well.

In 2013 it will be more evident as to who has experienced guidance and clear direction.  Before hiring a consultant make sure they have a proven background, experience guiding brands, analytical ability, proven strategist directing brands to social success and data to prove it.  Remember it's not only about an increase in likes, followers, +1's, circles, etc.  It's all about social connections and building a bridge between a brand and consumers.
