Black Hole Thoughts (#1): “You Know, It’s Sunny in the Foggy Night”

I’ve walked through many nights of heavy Fog as training for clarity through times of heavy hardship. This, in itself, did not train me for the blinding bastard of my poor decisions made through my former days as a deliverer of truth as an alcoholic. Sitting alone in my apartment, late at night, as a song by the Tiger Lillies or Tom Waits blasted through my mind, trying to figure out the best method of debating Black Holes and how to evolve back into the dating scene while attempting not to nod off in in the shower. Or, at one or two occasions, weeping in joy to the released weight from my chest as I watched the Sun rise while listening to Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” for the twentieth time that morning.

As a teenager, I did, under best attempt, to see clearly through Rose colored glasses, while having un-jarred Honey in my heart. Now, that Honey is the main reason I can see at all after all the smokes and drink I’ve consumed while sitting in front of a computer screen late at night during my free time.
