There’s something very Lovecraftian about Clockwork Stars. The Kirby universe has a small group of living, planet-sized machines floating through the vastness of space. We have a vague idea of who created them, but not when or why or how. Despite their alleged purpose as wish granters, everyone who tries to wish upon these Stars winds up dead or permanently traumatized. We don’t know their motives. We don’t know their limits. The more I think about them, the more unnerving they seem.

From that sakurai interview a few weeks back
Tbh in hindsight the fountain of dreams out of nowhere deciding to just randomly ‘transmit’ Zorah’s wish to Nova despite Zorah being stuck for like… Centuries? really does make it feel like Someone was plotting something.
Especially since thats not how the fountain of dreams usually works either. Like we know a fountain CAN transmit to Nova based off of milky way wishes but i don’t think we ever saw it being used as a relay to project a wish further. Every other wish was done right in front of a nova rather than across a long distance.
Theres so many different things that could’ve influenced Nova but… i feel like some stuff in this interview has me like….. intrigued.
Genuinely I feel like this might be foreshadowing something in an upcoming mainline game because why would Sakurai be like “I wish i could reveal more but i can’t yet.” thats like. such a strange thing to say.
I wonder if bc of Fecto Elfilis’s and Meteonelfilis’s defeat, the clockwork star cores which were developed from it as a blueprint are becoming unable to interpret wishes properly due to the influence of like. the other Elfilis species that reside in Kirby’s universe.
Or it could just be nightmare again, no reason why it couldn’t. Every other boss is like. a replica, but Nightmare seems to be real.
What if a Clockwork Star found destruction the go-to method to granting a wish because then it wouldn't have any more wishes to grant?
What if it wanted the world's end because nobody would be left to lock it under orders to follow?
What if it had the very wish Zorah did - freedom? What if that was its way to try grant it for itself?
Merry Christmas everyone… here’s a nova for today. :3
