I’m working on some photographs I took in the dark during my sleepless period. The ‘noise’ in the images reminds me of the Closed Eye Visuals I get when I am in the dark - ever since I was a child, I have had Level 2 to Level 3 Closed Eye Visuals. I think it is more common than people think - it is an unintentional movement of colour and shape when I am in the dark. It is ‘in’ my eye as in if I was to move my hand over my face, in low light, I can see my hand and the moving colours are still there. It is mostly kind of waves of a yellow-green I see, lately I have noticed more reds, oranges... Sometimes white.
So I want to bring this into my scenography... It is an immaterial thing that I experience... So I can link it to that... And I am interested to see if I can invite people in to my mind by scenographic practice.
During the day, in natural light and in artificial light, I have a very light noise in my vision. I sometimes see spots and dots, varying in size and colour. This has been the last few years I have noticed the dots.
I also have a float in one of my eyes, it got checked when I was a kid and it’s just a cobweb-like shape of what I used to describe as a ‘jumping y’... According to the internet, it’s just a shadow of some ‘debris’ in my vitreous liquid. I like to think of it as a war mark from transitioning some wicked dimension to this consciousness, but it’s probably way more natural and organic and less sic-fi than that... haha
Ok, I have also, not gonna lie, been juggling things lately like my music and my general well being and planning stuff for my Christmas break. The academic year is really flying. I want to update my documentative blog soon, maybe tonight, but I want to go for a walk first :)
