Do/can ponies get sunburnt? Hasn't been an issue for the last 200 odd years, so I figure I should run it by somepony who would know.

Yes they can, although its rare. We have a coat of fur covering our bodies like most creatures, but the places where that fur is thin are still vulnerable to the sunlight. Now, you’re right of course; the cloud layer filtered the sunlight for the past two hundred and change years, resulting in a reduced chance of sunburn, almost to the point of non-existence.
