When you started reading an interesting and well written reader insertâŠ
But then the author describes your appearance as how they are imagining it,
And they give you a name for whatever reason.
It is not a reader insert anymore, even if itâs written in the second pov because you are so thrown off by the fact that the appearance and the readerâs name are decided.
It is not a freaking reader insert. It is an OC-insert. Stop tagging fanfictions "Reader insert" when you decide how the reader looks like (and when you give them a name).
Summary/Request: Requested by anon:Â Could you write a spencer reid fic where he notices the reader has slowly become less and less happy and figures out they're in a toxic relationship then tries to get them out but they're too worried about their partner's emotional state? toxic as in their partner gives them so much anxiety and manipulates and takes advantage of their kindness.. sorry if this sounds weird, i'm just having a hard time ^^
Notes: Iâm sorry youâre having a hard time, I hope youâre safe and well xx
It wasnât something he noticed straight away...it was a progression, little things slowly building up to give it away. The way you smiled less, the way little comments effected you, the way you seemed almost paranoid...he was surprised no one else on the team noticed. But he did and he understood it the moment he questioned it. Your partner was someone you couldnât leave, your partner was someone who told you theyâd die without you, someone who emotionally manipulated you to make you stay, who abused your trust, who abused you and you didnât know how to leave because you were so scared of your partner getting hurt if you did that you didnât seem to realise just how much you were getting hurt by staying. That it was all a ploy on their part to keep you there.
So he did the one thing he could do, Spencer talked to you, he convinced you to let him go home with you and help you leave. Because you wanted to leave you really did and you knew that maybe having someone else there would help, help you leave, help you remove this person from your life. Because you just wanted to be happy again, to be with someone who didnât give you never ending anxiety and fear, someone who didnât manipulate you and use you and pretend they werenât.Â
Youâd stayed with Spencer after that, all your stuff piled in his spare room while he helped you find a new place, block your ex from all forms of communication, and get back on track. He watched you smile more, watched you stop looking over your shoulder and relax and he started to see the old you peaking through. Because all he wanted was to help you and some how heâd managed that and heâd never been more grateful for taking a stand in his entire life.
Summary/Request: Requested by @specksthe-figment:Â So I had this thought and I wish I didn't coz now I hate myself So can I get a one shot or smth where reader is Spencer's fraternal twin but she's average intelligence n stuff, and is quite artsy. And when she goes and meets the team they're a bit under whelmed coz they thought she'd be like spencer, like smartness wise. But like her and Spencer are close. Idk I'm like playing out in my head and it's happy and sad and yeah okay thank you
Being Spencerâs twin was always hard...while you were very close and you absolutely adored your brother who was 3 minutes older, you also struggled with your own self worth. He was a genius, everyone who met him assumed you would be just as smart. You werenât, you were average, and while you were okay with that other people never where...but where Spencer was logical and black and white, you were creativity and colour. You were different and you were okay with that until you met people and they werenât okay with it.
It was easy to tell that Spencerâs friends/colleagues were underwhelmed and probably a bit disappointed when they finally met you. You werenât another genius like Spencer, you didnât spout off facts, youâd rather draw things down instead, make stuff rather than learn stuff. Even Spencer could tell. Which was perhaps why he seemed so keen to focus on your talents, to show you off and not let them dwell on what you werenât.Â
âYou know I love you, right? Youâre my favourite sister...â
âIâm your only sister, Spence...but I know, I love you too.â You did, he was the best brother you could ask for, he never judged you for being what he wasnât and for not being what he was. He understood and he liked that the two of you were individuals, that you werenât competing to be the smartest or the best at drawing or crafts. And you liked that too, even if people seemed disappointed when they first met you.
