just a rant about the carmen sandiego community (this doesnt apply to all people)

i should get over this but i want to blow off some steam and get it off my chest, despite being a small fandom its very nitpicky and hypocritical.

some people dislike shadowsan, yes its okay to have an opinion like that but when people like him, everyone becomes outrageous to the people that like shadowsan like HELLO?? ive seen a lot of people get bashed on because their favorite character / they yumeship with shadowsan! let people have fun carmen sandiego community!!!

and oh my god im gonna say this, all shadowsan dislikers leads to the road of dexter wolfe 🫩!!! i dont mind dexter, in fact i dont care for him because technically hes a side character and only supports the storyline of carmen. i think hes a cool guy but at the end i dont feel anything sparking whenever i mention him. hell, we dont even know if dexter was truly a good person. he may have been a good father to carmen temporarily, but he chose this life for her. and before u say: 'but there are aus where dexter is a good guy!!!' then why isnt there an au with dexter as a villain / immoral intentions!!!

ill be completely honest, some people try to 'fix' the show, yes i think thats cool considering the fact the show can be wild at times but then they remove a characters moral issues when the main point of the show is also about morals!!! its good vs evil for goodness sake! ofc theres gonna be morals of a story!!! and its a KIDS SHOW. what else could we expect. imo if theyre a terrible character as in theyve done a lot of terrible things overall. the show is about forgiveness, not just geography, history and all sorts. i feel like people redesign the characters to act like major dickheads idk if thats just me

so whats my opinion: shadowsan and dexter are not good people in general but that doesmt mean u should attack people for yumeshipping / having a character as their favorite.

get mad at me, talk shit about me, debate about it i dont care anymore this fandom has made my brain melt and made me overwhelmed.

i think the reason why it was so off-putting was because his hair grew larger, i dont think the layer was really a problem. the shading was kinda a problem bc of the layer so i fixed it
