Description: Jamie is pushed into a river, resulting in hypothermia
Day 5: "You're not looking too hot." hypothermia.
@juneofdoom;
Ao3 or under the cut
During a mission in the cold, a couple of soldiers thought it would be funny to shove Jamie into the icy river. Failing to realize the danger of the current and the weight of Jamie's gear. The prank turned into a rescue mission and a change of plans. Now, the team has to worry about getting Jamie warmed up. Price scolds the two soldiers who pushed Jamie into the water while the others work to warm Jamie. They worry that Jamie isn't considering using her firebending to warm herself.
"You're not looking too hot," Soap worries. "Anyone got a thermometer in their medkit?!"
"I do," Farah says. She gets it from her medkit and puts the device over Jamie's forehead. "This isn't good. She's hypothermic, 85°."
The others worry. Jamie's return to base is necessary; however, immediate warming takes precedence. By now, Jamie is struggling to stay awake.
Everyone gets the blanket they had in their bags to wrap Jamie in. Price works quickly to get a fire going. Jamie's return to base is urgent, yet he prioritizes warning her. He hopes they won't be staying in one spot for long. Meanwhile, the two soldiers who pushed Jamie into the water sit and watch, worried. They're already in trouble for the prank, but know it'll be more serious if Jamie dies.
Ten minutes pass, and Jamie warms up. The team wants to get her warm enough to know she'll remain warm during the journey to exfil. Farah informs the team that Jamie's temperature has reached 90°, predicting a slight increase or plateau.
Everyone packs their things, and Ghost picks Jamie up. Jamie feels tired, but Ghost knows she still can't sleep.
"You can sleep when we get back, and I'll get you into some nice, warm pajamas."
A few hours pass, and Jamie is in the medbay receiving warm IV fluids and in warm pajamas, as Ghost said. Ghost still holds Jamie and keeps her wrapped in a couple of blankets as he lies on the bed. Jamie is staying in the medbay overnight.
"Now you can sleep," Ghost says.
Jamie leans on Ghost and falls asleep.
Soon, the others walk into the room. They're happy she'll be ok.
"What actions did you take regarding the two individuals?" Ghost asks Price.
"Dishonorably discharged," Price says. "I can't charge them with a crime. They argue it was a harmless prank." "idiots," Ghost comments.
"She'll be ok and back to kicking your ass during training," Soap jokes
"You mean your ass," Gaz corrects.
"More like all of us," Alex comments.
They all laugh until they realize they forgot Jamie is asleep. Everyone leaves the room, leaving Ghost alone with Jamie. Ghost gets comfortable sleeping on the bed with Jamie, relieved she'll be ok.

Description: A rookie fights dirty.
Day 3;
@augustofwhump; black and blue
Under the cut
Not everyone knows how strong Jamie is. Jamie has more than once shown the rookies they were mistaken. Today is another one of those days.
“Really?” The rookie complains. “How’s she even a soldier? She’s tiny!”
“And you’re judging someone by size,” Price argues.
Sparring with Jamie annoys the rookie. What no one realized was that he planned on fighting dirty.
The others watch the sparring match and soon realize what the rookie is doing as he pins Jamie down in an unacceptable move.
Ghost and Soap fight the rookie to get off Jamie.
“Weakling,” the rookie says, and kicks Jamie one last time before Ghost and Soap force him away from Jamie.
While Price has a rookie to discipline, he’s worried about Jamie. He and Gaz approach Jamie, both seeing that she has a bad, bloody nose and a black eye.
“Don’t move,” Price instructs.
Farah has gone to find a medic; meanwhile, Nikolai and Alex help Ghost and Soap secure the rookie. All four men want to fight him.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?!” Soap yells.
“I’ll deal with him once I know Jamie will be ok,” Price tells the men.
Jamie wants to get up and resume fighting the rookie, but she feels pain all over her body. Gaz still puts a hand on Jamie’s shoulder to keep her from getting up.
He lifts her shirt, seeing large black and blue bruises on her abdomen. Gaz worries about the possibility of the bruising being a sign of internal bleeding.
Before Gaz could act, Farah arrived accompanied by two medical personnel and a stretcher. After a quick assessment, the medics put Jamie on the stretcher and departed. Price tells Gaz to stay with Jamie while he deals with the rookie.
Fifteen minutes later, the medics let Jamie leave. She lies on the exam bed, waiting for the pain relief to kick in before leaving.
“I’m kicking his ass,” Jamie declares.
“No, you are not. Price is dealing with him. I wonder how many rules the asshole broke? Price might discharge him.”
“Lucky him, now I can’t kick his ass!”
Gaz smiles, knowing this is what Jamie would do.
“No doubt you’d get in trouble for getting into a fight while injured. Even if it’s just a minor injury, such as bruises. You’ll have to let Price handle it.”
Gaz knows Jamie isn’t pleased. He’s prepared to have to stop her from finding where Price and the rookie are. Gaz expects Jamie might try to flee, even though Jamie remains on the exam bed.

Day 24;
@fluffyjuly; "Can we get something to eat?"
Under the cut
Jamie, Gaz, and Soap agreed to a movie night. Ghost and Price aren’t interested, and neither is anyone else. One movie turns into three. While it’s now two in the morning, Soap is hungry.
“Can we get something to eat before going to bed?”
Gaz and Jamie agree. They regretted the sparse collection of treats meant for shorter film entertainment.
The three friends head to the kitchen.
As the three look through cabinets, they’re unaware of someone watching them.
“What the hell are you three doing?” The voice startles all three of them. They turn around to see Price looking at them. “It’s two in the morning!”
“Uh, well, one movie turned into three,” Gaz explains.
“I wanted snacks,” Soap adds.
Jamie says nothing. All three know they’re in trouble.
“You couldn’t wait for breakfast in the morning?!” The three don’t answer. “Take your snacks and go to your rooms. I still expect you lot to be up by seven.”
The three grab their snacks and run to their rooms. Price sighs, frustrated, before following them, and going to his room.

Description: TF 141 is locked in a cell with a metal door.
Day 12;
@juneofdoom; "It's no use." Locked door, carry
Ao3 or under the cut
Five members of Task Force 141 wake up in an unfamiliar place.
“Is everyone ok?” Price asks, waking up, seeing everyone in the same room.
Everyone says they’re ok. Following questions about their location and captor that have no answers, Ghost attempts to open the door.
“It’s no use. We’re in a cell,” Soap says. “No way we’re getting out. The door’s locked from the outside.”
Jamie walks towards the door.
“You think you can get us out of here?” Price asks.
“Depends on the metal,” Jamie explains, as she examines the door. “Yup, I can get us out.”
Jamie punches the door. Small dents form.
“Oh yeah, we’re getting the heck out of here,” Ghost says with sarcasm.
“This isn’t easy!” Jamie argues.
Jamie takes a deep breath and tries harder. The dents become holes, and Jamie can make a larger hole in the door.
“Everyone out!” Price orders.
Gaz, Price, and Sop run out of the room. Before Jamie can walk through the hole, Ghost stops her.
“I’m carrying you.”
“Ghost, I’m fine—.”
“Bullshit, that must have exhausted you.”
Ghost exits the room, pulls Jamie out, and picks her up. He carries her bridal style and hurries to catch up with the others.
The five know that they’ll encounter the enemy as they get out. Gaz, Price, and Soap have their guns ready, while Ghost continues to carry Jamie. Jamie knows not to argue that she feels fine.
The five encounter five armed guards. Ghost hides in a hallway, holding Jamie. He watches the others, seeing if he needs to help. Jamie insists she’s fine and that the two should help the others, but Ghost doesn’t believe her.
Ten minutes pass and gunfire ceases.
“We’re clear!” Soap calls out.
Ghost joins the others as they continue out of the building.
Within fifteen minutes, the team is on the helicopter, taking them back to base.

Day 7;
@juneofdoom; Explosion, trap
Task Force 141 walks into a warehouse. Intel told them this was where a massive stash of drugs would be. Before the five can start searching, they all hear a steady beeping, then what sounds like a bomb going off further into the building.
"It's a trap!" Price yells. "This place is set to blow up with us in it!"
Everyone runs toward the exit, bombs going off behind them. Jamie worries about everyone getting out in time and uses her airbending to get the four men out. A strong gust of wind takes the men a half mile away. Jamie continues to run toward the exit but is caught in an explosion. Gaz, Ghost, Price, and Soap watch as the final bombs go off and the building in flames.
Ghost looks through the scope of his gun.
"I see her! The explosion sent her flying fifteen meters."
"Damn. She's far enough from the building, but I'm calling for a fire helicopter and medical evac," Price says.
As they walk towards Jamie, they hope she's alive and not seriously injured.

Gaz and Soap sit in Jamie’s room as she sleeps. They are concerned about nightmares, even if she no longer gets them every night.
“I hate anticipating when she’ll cry again,” Gaz says. “She’ll dwell on Ghost and Price’s actions for some time. She believed her friends had betrayed her.”
“We possess the knowledge to assist those who have experienced trauma, yet it offers no solace in this situation,” Soap exhales. Uncertainty clouds when normalcy will return. When we can forget this ever happened.”
The room is silent for a short while before Jamie whimpers. Gaz and Soap have helped Jamie through enough nightmares that they have a routine. Soap is careful as he moves Jamie onto his lap, her head rests on his shoulder. He rubs her back, aiming to wake her. Soon Jamie wakes up.
“You’re safe,” Soap assures her.
Jamie doesn’t take long to fall asleep, but Soap continues to cradle her.
A rainstorm breaks the silence. Gaz looks at Soap cradling Jamie
“How long before she thinks we’ll tire of caring for her?” Gaz asks. “It’s a fear she has that her friends will tire of dealing with her mental health, now this.”
“I’m not giving up on you, or our found family.”
“I think it’s time to contact our friends,” Gaz says. “And consider Layla’s desire to assist. Her dog form could help.”
“Yeah, we need the rest of our found family to help us fix this shit.”

Gaz sits on a bench, watching Ghost train fifty recruits. Price stands beside Ghost, watching the men and women. He watches one particular woman, Zuri Kane. One of the three African Americans in the group. The man curses himself, feeling like he already loves the woman as he watches her. He knows it’s illogical. For all he knows, the only things the two could have in common are being African American and being in Task Force 141. He makes himself leave before he looks like a creep.
Soon, the lunch hour begins. Gaz walks into the kitchen, not paying attention, and bumps int someone. Glass shatters as it hits the floor, along with food landing on the floor. Gaz can’t believe who he bumped into. It’s embarrassing. To have bumped into Zuri is like a worst nightmare coming true.
“Uh, hi…”
“Don’t you know to pay attention?”
“Uh, well…”
“A soldier who can’t talk,” Zuri teases, amused.
Soap comes from behind and whacks Gaz in the back of the head.
“Hey!”
“You’re embarrassing yourself. Stop looking like an idiot and introduce yourself to the pretty lady.”
Soap walks away. Gaz’s face turns red, feeling like Soap caught him. The Scotsman figured out his crush on Zuri.
“Hi,” Zuri smiles.
“Uh, hi. I’m sergeant Kyle “Gaz” Garrick."
“Private Zuri Kane.”
After a handshake, the two clean up the mess and go into the kitchen.
As they get lunch, Gaz repeatedly apologizes for bumping into Zuri and causing her to drop her lunch.
The two sit at a table together. Gaz sees Soap and Price smirking. He hates that they all know. He’s certain Ghost is smirking under his skull balaclava. He’s not looking forward to the teasing.

Gaz, Ghost, Jamie, and Soap run on a path in the woods. They decided it would be a good exercise. Jamie runs too close to a patch of flowers, angering some bees. They swarm around her. The others aren't aware as Jamie tries to shoo the bees away.
"Where's Jamie?" Soap asks, noticing she's not close to him.
"That's not good," Gaz worries.
The three stop running.
"No, it's not. She can keep up no problem," Ghost says.
The three ran back the way they came.
The three see Jamie sitting on the ground by a tree, crying.
They realized that she had been attacked by bees and stung multiple times. Ghost picks her up.
"Come on, let's get you taken care of."
Gaz and Soap follow Ghost.
In the medbay at the base, a medic treats Jamie for multiple bee stings. Once she's treated, Jamie tells Gaz, Ghost, Soap, and Price what happened.
Price gives Jamie a few days off. Ghost takes Jamie to her quarters. Price wants him to watch for concerning symptoms
"What about the beehive?" Soap asks.
"We leave it. I don't think it's a concern. Just be careful when running past the wild flowers," Price says.
