Ring is a brilliant strategist in the Solarian Army. They are part of a large force stationed amongst a large collection of vital nebula, tasked with guarding the neonatal stars growing within. Stars that will bring brilliant Light into the darkest corners of the universe. The main threats these new stars are protected from is The Shade, whom seek to destroy the delicate balance of the multi-verse to plunge it into destructive, shadowy, annihilation.

Facts:

Ring's real name is Apogee. However, they were never really a fan of it and so claimed Ring as their new one. Apogee is not a/their dead name they just like Ring more.

Eclipse dragons are hybrid offspring of Solar and Lunar dragons. Since both Solar and Lunar elementals are a sub-class of Light Elemental they are still mortal angles like their Light Elemental cousins. Eclipse dragons are thus still mortal angles as well. All Light Elements (including Solar, Lunar, and Eclipse) have soul gems imbedded in their chests as part of their anatomy. They are born with them.

Designed a character based off of The Annular Eclipse last week. I didn't actually get to see it due to cloud cover. Also, I managed to get my drawing table backup and running so I'm starting to get back into digital after after years of not doing it! Honestly, comparing this to the traditional drawing/color I did is a world of difference; Ring looks so much better in digital. I just didn't do them justice with traditional, especially their soul gem.

Wanted to redesign some old ocs to make them more fitting of their titles as Light Elementals/Angel Dragons. Eclipse is the third dragon and his design remains unchanged as I like it as it has been. First dragon in the lineup is my first ever original character who has gone through many major changes as she was first made when I was literally 5-6 years old. She was originally an alicorn, fun fact.

Zephyr is a dire wolf who fights in Lumeria's Aerial Corps. How does a wolf fight in the aerial corps you may ask, well, with wings of course! When Zephyr completed his basic training in Lumeria and went on to apply and get accepted to the Aerial Corps he trained and worked for years in order to apply for a position as a flyer. He eventually got the position and was fitted with his very own set of Light Flight wings which he would use during missions. Zephyr is a very efficient flyer and is even capable of besting some dragons with his skills.

Zephyr has rather humble beginnings, being the son of two bakers who lived in a small rural Lumerian town. His childhood was simple, yet happy and enjoyable nonetheless, filled with the love and support of two wonderful parents. Once he became an adult, Zephyr, like many creatures out there, eventually heeded the call of his nation and joined the Lumerian military in their fight to protect the multiverse from the vile Shade. During his years in basic training and basic aerial corps training his desire to provide cover for his teammates and reliability in always being there and getting the job done have given him quite an admirable reputation.

Personality

Zephyr is a calm-minded and cool spirited individual who likes to approach challenges with a level head; making him efficient on the battlefield. He is very intelligent and is able to read his foe's body language during flight to predict their next move. Zephyr takes his position and responsibilities as a flyer seriously and puts high priority on doing what is best for his fellow squadmates. This makes Zephyr a highly dependable individual and the wingman you would want to back you up in the field of battle.

Backstory

Laochus is a gryphon hailing from the emerald isle itself, Ireland; born to a family of gryphons living on the Cliffs of Moher. His family lived amongst human kind disguised and ran a moderately successful fishing business. Given their proximity to humans Laochus, as a result, lived most of his childhood disguised as a human instead of as his normal gryphon-self; though he never held this against mankind. Laochus grew to love Ireland and its people and truly felt a part of its culture; as a result, he, like his parents, developed a healthy patriotism for his birth nation. This patriotism and love of doing what’s right would show itself when Laochus, without hesitation, signed himself up to join the fight against The Axis powers during World War 2. This brought Laochus in contact with the Lumerians, who had become steadfast and powerful allies of The Allies during the conflict.

The Lumerians had been wary of the rise of The Axis nations long before the war started and had already establish their connections with England and America. Those this alliance came after the Axis nations rose to power as pre-WW2 humanity, France and England mainly, did not take their warnings seriously until it was too late.

Laochus found himself amongst his kin again and had a hard time fitting in with them after so long amongst human kind, but none judged him for it. He was also very unfamiliar with fighting as his usual gryphon self, as he always had to use his human disguise and so took additional training, though the Lumerians were patient. Laochus found the Lumerians to be amazing warriors and great teammates, as they were there for him during even the worst of it. Laochus would, unfortunately, lose his right forelimb when landing with a strike team on a minefield. The limb needed to be amputated all the way to the mid-humerus and Laochus took the loss of limb and ability to fight for his nation hard. Through all of this the Lumerians were by his side and helped to recover, even fashioning him a full neuro-net prosthetic limb dawning the colors of Irelands flag. When Laochus returned home after the war he was heralded as a hero in his tiny fishing village and all of Ireland for that matter.

To this day Laochus still remains in contact with his Lumerian war buddies and prefers to send them letters as he feels its more personal. His prosthetic limb is one of his most prized possessions as it’s a testament to what he has survived, suffered, and fought for, as well as, a reminder of his Lumerian friends who were there for him.

Personality

Laochus is a strong-willed individual with a love for his country and his country folk, possessing a strong loyalty for the people of Ireland. He was more carefree and energetic when he was younger but the threat of The Axis powers and the horrors of WW2 have steeled his personality into a more stoic and gruffer demeanor. Having to experience losing a limb and the long road of recovery afterwards has also helped to harden him, though he true kind nature and love for his kin has never wavered. If you get to know Loachus well enough, the caring nature of his becomes more apparent.

Excellence is a retired Lumerian soldier from the Terra Corps and was quite a renowned fighter. She was most well known for her powerful kicks that could take a Shade's head clean off as well as her mastery of the Earth Element. Excellence stills has her diamond and weritite laden hoof guards, which were her weapon of choice that she used to wreak havoc. Nowadays, Excellence works out on her farm growing crops for the Lumerian troops, continuing to do all she can to support the military. Though, what she is really well known for, actually famous for, is her incredible Rodeo skills! Be it cattle roping, barrel racing, or cutting Excellence strives for perfection in her competitions; holding the title of Rodeo Queen for years now. Whenever Lumeria holds its annual rodeo championship you can bet your beard Excellence will come out on top!

Personality

Excellence is a wise and experienced individual with a love for high intensity activities, such a rodeo work. She is a bit more on the serious side and has always had a zero-tolerance policy for "horsing around", even before she joined the military. Despite this though Excellence can be a very patient individual so long as you actually try and show you care about what you’re doing. She is proud of her nation and its military and isn't afraid to show it, always brandishing the Lumerian Crest of Light whenever she is competing.

Before she joined the Lumerian military, Melody Wishsong lived a peaceful life in a small Gaian city with her husband and daughter. However, that didn’t last long. While Melody was out gathering herbs her city was ransacked by The Shade and the unicorn ended up returning to chaos and bloodshed. When she got to her home, she found her beloved husband and darling daughter dead before the talons of a Shade. Overcome with rage and grief Melody attacked the creature but she was no match for it and she was left burned when the beast spewed molten flame at her. Melody and the survivors of her city were rescued by Gaian military forces and were taken to medical centers for recovery. After recovering from her injuries Melody left Gaia and traveled to The City of Light intent on joining the Lumerian Military. She felt that there was nothing left for her on her home planet and that instead she should join the fight against The Shade and prevent others from suffering the same thing she has. While Melody is not driven by revenge when fighting The Shade, she still lets out her rage and fury against them for what they did to her family.

Personality

Melody is soft spoken is generally very sweet though she isn’t one to talk a lot. She tends to think of her husband and daughter a lot and so appears melancholy most of the time. In the field of battle Melody prioritizes providing cover and assistance for her fellow fighters as she does not want to lose them. Team Light has since become Melody’s new found family and she values each and everyone of them above herself.
