Barry inched forward, hand raised as if he wanted to touch the bruises to try and wipe them away. His own injuries were nearly healed, the only sign he’d been hurt as well was the faintest hitch in his step. “This shouldn’t have happened. It was my fault you were out there in the first place.”

When Len gets hurt playing hero, Barry is wallowing in guilt. Because of course he is. Now Len has a broken wrist, a black eye, and a worrying Speedster to contend with.

THE FUTURE OF COLDFLASHEVENTS

So I’m sure most of you have already seen the sad news that the previous mods of coldflashevents have decided to step down. 

I’ve always loved this blog. I’ve really enjoyed participating in the events and seeing everyone else’s amazing contributions over the years, and I always eagerly awaited announcement of new events. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. So I’m pleased to announce that this blog is officially under new management!

I want to say a massive thank you to @kleptoandpyro and the other mods for handing me the reigns; I hope I can live up to the amazing standards you all set for previous events.

Some of you may already know me as @coldflasher (and if you don’t, feel free to come and say hi!) Full disclosure: I’ve never run any fan events before, but I’m extremely passionate about this ship and I’m excited to get stuck in! 

I’m already brainstorming plans for the first event of 2022. I’m thinking of starting off small with just a weekend event to help me find my feet, and then if that goes well we can look at moving onto full week-long events, big bangs, all that good stuff :D

I’d love to hear everyone’s feedback on what kind of events you’d like to see, prospective dates, etc. Right now I’m leaning towards a mini summer event at the end of August—let me know if that date works, or if you’d like more time to prepare! I’m open to any and all feedback to make sure this runs as smoothly as possible.

Once we have a date in place for our first event, I’ll start thinking about prompts, etc., so if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to send them my way, and we’ll go from there. I know as a writer, I always like it when there are lots of prompts to choose from, so any ideas are welcome! 

Thanks again to the previous mods for letting me take over, and I’m excited to get started :D

Six Sentence Sunday

Thanks for the tag @nonbaznary! The first one of the year; it’s so exciting!!

It isn’t snowbaz-related, but I have been working on something recently. Captain Cold x The Flash has always been one of my favorite ships, but I never write anything for them, so I thought I would finally give it a try.

Here’s what I have so far:

When Barry learns of Snart’s death, his heart aches as it feels like it shatters into a million little pieces. As soon as Ray utters those words, so small yet so significant, the rest of the world falls away.

Barry can’t hear anything except those words over and over again, echoing in his head and sucking the air out of his lungs; he died.

Barry wants to collapse to the ground right at that moment, but he somehow manages to hold it together long enough for him to be able to get away without raising too much suspicion. If he he times it right, he can deal with his grief and be back before the world completely falls apart.

He barely remembers running or making the decision to do so, but suddenly, he’s in his room, curled up on his bed and holding tight to one of Snart’s parkas. He left it the last time he visited and Barry has been sleeping with it most nights, whenever he started to miss him. He always thought he would get the chance to return it, but he didn’t, and no one even bothered to tell him that Snart was gone. Because no one knew how he felt about him, how they felt about each other.

This will definitely be angsty, but it will hopefully be equal parts fluff.

It’s still strange just how welcoming STAR Labs feels after a long day. Barry supposes he should feel differently about the place, which has only become what it is today in a game of twisted plans and manipulation, all with the goal to destroy him eventually. But it’s… it’s home, with all its good memories, too, and it most definitely is the home of the Flash.

He’s never felt more like the Flash and at the same time undeserving of the support people have reserved for him like he’s done in the past couple of months.

Len thinks the most disappointing part about the whole being dead thing is that it’s boring. The dying part, not so much. The agony of being blown apart he could have done without, although it was over in an instant, so he supposes that was something. Being splintered into pieces, being time and not time, somehow existing and not all at once, flickering in and out like a glitching hologram from one of those old-timey sci-fi movies he used to force Mick to watch with him (before they’d ended up on an 'it’s-not-a-spaceship-it’s-a-timeship-Mr. Snart,' that is) -- it was simply, for lack of better words, boring as fuck.
