I had a vision-
Coma theory time: Sherlock (as the little girl) is on a different plane of consciousness than everyone else, but it’s reversed because we’re in his mind so instead of him being asleep and everyone else awake, he’s awake and everyone else is asleep. He feels alone, scared and powerless. He’s searching for comfort (mummy) or help (looks to the stewardess). There’s outside interference (the phone ringing, could be happening in real life or it could just be John trying to break through to him). He clings to it, but it turns out to be his worst nightmare (Moriarty) rather than the comfort and safety he was seeking.
“Sherlock, can you hear me?”
If Sherlock is in a trance/coma from HLV to TFP with John talking to him, here’s what he hears John say and re-uses in his coma-dream, re-attributing it to various people in different situations:
Sherlock, we’re losing you.
Your loss would break my heart.
How can you be alive? I saw you die. Why aren’t you dead?
I was there for you before. I’ll be there for you again. I’ll always be there for you.
Every time you stumble, every time you fail, when you’re weak ... I am there!
At the end, it’s always just you ... and me!
He’s not moving.
You made me so happy. You gave me everything I could ever, ever ...want.
You were my whole world.
You don’t actually want to die. Say that for me. Say it.
Please, maintain eye contact. Maintain eye contact.
No, no, I’m not okay. I’m never gonna be okay. but we’ll just have to accept that. It is what it is; and what it is is ... shit.
In saving my life, you conferred a value on it. It is a currency I do not know how to spend.
I love you.
Open your eyes. I’m here. You’re not lost anymore.
