I came out to some people yesterday and immediately started panicking. The same thing happened when I first came out as bi. Sometimes when you've been lying to protect yourself for a long time, telling the truth can make you feel like your in danger, even if you aren't. It's okay to slow down take things one little baby step at a time. You are allowed to do whatever you need to do to make you feel safe. You are allowed to do whatever you need to do to make yourself feel comfortable. Beginning to be yourself is a very vulnerable place to be, if you need to put up some extra protection for yourself, then that's what you need to do. It's YOUR life; live it the way YOU need to.
hey, uh if anyone is bored or anything iād like to come out as a trans boy, and pansexual to some transphobic, racists, fascists (etc) parents have a nice day i love yall
The other day my mom mentioned something about myĀ āhusbandā or herĀ āson-in-lawā and while Iām 99% confident no shits would be given if I told her she might actually have a daughter-in-law someday, the one percent of uncertainty keeps me from shouting from the rooftops that Iām bisexual. Same with friends that I havenāt told yet, and I feel...ridiculous I guess?
Like here I am with what are the most supportive parents and yet I canāt just come out and say it, while there are people who know they will literally be disowned for coming out. I feel like an idiot.
... about that.
Friend: what are you doing?
Me: deep in Narnia wondering if I should ever walk out.
Friend: ... I dont get it ...
Me: ššš
i just realized that i might consider myself out of the closet but im not. like im not subtle about being a lesbian until im around my family. my mom knows but she "doesnt approve of the lifestyle" which is bs and my family is all conservative christian asians so i cant really expect any reaction other than negative. the sad part is, i hyped myself up over winter break and told myself that if anyone asks why im wearing a rainbow bracelet, i'll tell them im gay, but i didnt. my cousin asked if it had any meaning to it and i just panicked and said no. then i cried that night bc why cant i just come out? why cant i just feel safe in my own house with my family? instead im worried about them knowing but im so torn because on the one hand, i want to scream it to the whole world and on the other hand, i dont want them to know. also, i feel like i cant come out to them unless im dating someone. like i feel like i have to have proof of my gayness which is horseshit but i cant help it. my brain is like, but what if they ask how you know? and i cant help but think oh shit you right. like i just cant. it hurts so much to keep it from my family but its for my own good. sometimes i think im only ever going to come out to them when i invite them to my own wedding. i wish i could be proud but i cant help but hide
Coming out problems.
