My Monday musings: I'm kind of surprised this isn't a bigger ship.
Michael and Nhan make a lot of sense to me. They went through the wringer together, they went to the future together, and Nhan was called in later to keep Michael in line because she knew her and how she would operate. Michael knew she would make the tough calls if she couldn't because that's what she'd done, and Michael accepted it and trusted her anyway. When push did come to shove, Nhan was convinced to forego her "duty above all" mindset and both of them grew from that experience.
It seems like Michael and Nhan had a way stronger foundation than Michael and Book, whose foundation the show skipped almost entirely and built through exposition once Michael and Discovery were finally reunited.
Rewatching Discovery and i just realized that Nhan’s dress version of the Discovery uniform has ZIPPER POCKETS
And I don’t think the pants version has any pockets so that’s a hilarious reversal of the current common dress vs. pants situation that most people have problems with
Also the scene where Georgiou is like “in my universe Stamets was pan and we had DEFCON-level fun together” and she leaves and Tilly just goes “What just happened?” SHE’S SO CUTE I LOVE HER
Headcanons: How the Disco/SNW women show intimacy to their S/O
Headcanons for how I think some of the ladies from Discover and Strange New Worlds, would show intimacy to their s/o.
*In this case intimacy is not just in the physical sense.
This is for the FemSlash event being held by @discoveryfemslashfortnight. The prompt for today is 'Intimacy'
Characters: Michael Burnham; Nhan; Erica Ortegas; Una Chin-Riley; Christine Chapel; Nyota Uhura. - Written somewhat like a reader insert (gender neutral)
Warnings: Mentions of kissing, and other intimacy related vocabulary. Nothing nsfw or graphic.
Michael Burnham:
I think Michael would be fond of touch with her s/o, but more often when alone.
She is definitley not opposed to hand holding, hugs, or chaste kisses in hallways, or when hanging out with some of the others when off-duty.
But when alone, she loves just holding you, or being held by you.
Lying in each others arms, just being close, is comforting to her, and she definitley sleeps close by at night.
If she is anxious or stressed, nothing helps calm her down like being hugged or held close.
Apart from physical intimacy, Michael is a big fan of emotion and intellectual intimacy.
This means that she often loves bonding over deep talks and conversation. And she shows her true feelings with words.
If she truly trusts and loves her s/o, she will not hold anything back, because she knows that she can trust you with her biggest secrets, and possibly most controversial opinions.

Erica Ortegas:
Erica shows intimacy to her s/o in physical, recreational, and communicative ways.
Physically, she loves being lose to her s/o.
Sitting beside each other, there is no space between you, shoulders and legs pressed together, hands often intertwined.
When off-duty, or on leave, her arm is often around her s/o's waist, or her hand in theirs.
When on-duty, she will give smiles, winks and flirty looks whenever possible.
Recreational intimacy, for Erica means having hobbies, traditions, or routines that are just "yours".
Playing card games, eating at the same place at the same table at the Starbase, getting ready in the mornings or evenings together as you move around in sync in your shared quarters.
Also sharing clothes is something she loves to do with her s/o. Whats hers is yours, and whats yours is hers.
She will borrow your jackets or shirts, and loves when you wear her clothes as well.
Communication is key.
Erica speaks her mind, and this means she never hides her thoughts, never holds things back. She can and will tell you anything and everything.

Nhan:
Nhan relies on communication and shared interests to show her intimate feelings.
If there is anything that needs to be said to her s/o, whether to raise their spirits, make them smile, make them feel special, or even blush, she will say it.
She is not shy of using her words and telling her s/o everything she loves about them.
Nor does she shy away from physical intimacy, but that is only often shown when you are completely alone.
Kissing, cuddling, and embraces are not very common in her relationships, but they do happen, especially when alone and lying together in bed.
She will use physical intimacy especially to comfort her s/o.
Her bond with her s/o grows though common interest, love of careers and working, as well as high-energy situations.
She doesn't like boring as much as she likes exciting and eventful.
She is passionate in more ways than not, so doing fun, exciting or blood-pumping things makes her feel closer to her s/o. What these things entail, I will leave up to you.

Una-Chin Riley:
Una shows intimacy in a variety of ways, never shying away from showing her s/o that she loves them.
Sharing in love of her work with her s/o, often causes their bond to grow, as she loves working side by side with them.
Una is a very committed person to her s/o, so she makes sure to set aside time to be with them and only them.
She likes to make her s/o feel special, and never allows them to doubt how much she cares for them.
Physically, Una keeps things private.
No PDA except on specific occasions, when maybe her s/o is nervous, scared or hurt.
When in privacy Una enjoys physical intimacy with her s/o, whether this be kissing, cuddling, massage, etc..
Una also enjoys intellectual intimacy, in the form of learning new things together, or teaching each other.
Learning about each others interests often expands the relationship in Una's eyes.

Christine Chapel
Christine enjoys physical intimacy the most, not shying away from PDA, though she does keep it on a low in professional capacities.
Kissing, dancing, hugging, etc, she is a fan of most physical intimacy.
Her favorite though, is hand holding or touching. Walking close together, hands intertwined. Sitting at a table, hands locked underneath, etc. She loves this casual and simple form of intimacy.
Christine can have a hard time with commitment, but once she finds an s/o she can trust, she shares herself emotionally.
Long deep conversations, sharing secrets and often hidden thoughts or points of view, allow her bond with her s/o to grow stronger.
Another form of intimacy that some might see as a normal part of a relationship, is laughter.
Laughing with her s/o often allows Christine to feel a special sort of connection with them. It feels different with her s/o than it does with a friend.

Nyota Uhura
Nyota is a communicative and intellectual type.
So she thrives on connection of the mind, sharing ideas, and communicating openly.
To her, this is the best way for her to express herself to her s/o.
If she cannot talk openly with someone, and share her thoughts and feelings easily, she cannot bond with them in any other way.
She does not mind physical intimacy with her s/o, but it is not her go-to action to express herself to them.
When showing physical intimacy, she only does it in privacy, as she is not often comfortable with PDA.
Deep and long conversations about the universe, academic topics, language, etc., make her feel connected in a intellectual and even spiritual way with her s/o.
She needs her s/o to be her safe space, a place of no judgement or forced opinions.
Nyota will always be her s/o's safe space as well.
