When some people say they’re “tired of hearing about racism,” they’re usually expressing:

Discomfort with the topic

Feeling overwhelmed or defensive

Belief that the issue is exaggerated or already addressed

That’s different from “Black fatigue”, which refers to the lived, ongoing impact of racism, not frustration with discussing it

“Black fatigue” = experiencing the burden of racism

“Tired of hearing about racism” = reacting to the conversation about it.

Those are not equivalent, and mixing them can minimize real experiences. This is often the goal of people who use "Black fatigue" in response to a comment about racism.

Are you the Cauldron? 

If not, I’d start by sitting down and having an honest, adult conversation with your mate about your wants and desires and ideal situations. You would be surprised how easy most conflicts are to resolve when people use their words and don’t rely on avoidance to solve their problems. Even a mating bond is no match for poor communication.

One of the reasons I love characters like the classic Disney Princesses, classic Elita-One, classic Barbie and even in Jem and the Holograms is that they lack a special ability I rarely see in the female leads anymore...

The ability to communicate.

And it doesn't just extend to talking. None of the modern female characters listen anymore or try to understand people. Even the Powerpuff Girls (classic) sometimes tried to solve diplomatically without violence. That and none of the modern ladies try to just talk to people anymore. They're always picking fights and being confrontational which is not wise. And when they do talk, they yell, insult or act sarcastic. There's no grace, maturity, mediation or kindness in their speech. And honestly... it's not cool and the inability for a female character to communicate actually makes her appear weak and like a big dumb brute.

Even Ellen Ripley who has become an icon and a standard for a strong female character didn't pick fights like a big bully. In fact, she was friendly, kind and had a sense of humor. She actually did have charm and even a gentle motherly side to her which was heartwarming.

Communication is a superpower when used right. I mean, just as classic Dr. Who or Cpt. Jean-Luc Picard.

Plus, it was a superpower that the Disney Princesses and Heroines (Wendy Darling, Alice from Wonderland, Mulan, Tiana, Dorothy Gale, Elisa Masa, Grammi from Gummi Bears and such) owned. And 90% of them were NOT warriors.

Knowing how to talk and to be diplomatic are useful skills that I feel our modern heroines are outright rejecting to the point where they are coming across as mean and stupid. And I don't think any woman or girl wants a heroine like that representing them.

As an autistic person, I have to say that one thing I absolutely can't stand is how people just, apparently expect me to be able to read minds.

Look, I know that the last thing anybody wants is intimacy advice from a bald nerdy white dad, but y'all are gonna be a lot happier with your relationships when you realize that YOU are THE person primarily responsible for figuring out what YOU want, and then having the guts and integrity to share that plainly and openly with your partner.

It's not somebody else's job to act like your own personal Sorting Hat that magically knows who you are and what you want in life better than you know yourself.
