We all face worries and pain — and sometimes we keep it all inside. A kind word, a moment of listening, or a quiet prayer can change someone's day. Let’s choose compassion over judgment and offer help with no strings attached. Share this to remind others that caring matters. 🌸🍃

🌍✊🏿 A Cry for Help from🌈🏳️⚧️ Queer Refugees in East Africa ✊🏿🌍
Every day, we wake up not knowing if we will survive. As LGBTIQA+ refugees in East Africa, our lives are shaped by trauma, fear, and constant uncertainty. We escaped violence, imprisonment, and hatred only to find ourselves fighting a new battle: starvation, sickness, and isolation.
We are human beings, just like everyone else.
We deserve dignity.
We deserve safety.
We deserve a chance to live.
Right now, many of us have no food. No clean water. No access to ARVs or basic medicine. Our bodies are weakening, and our spirits are breaking. The world may not see what we go through, but the pain is real. The trauma is deep. And the silence around our suffering is unbearable.
Please, stand with us.
Share our story.
Support us if you can.
Help us to survive until resettlement. Your kindness no matter how small can save a life.
We don’t want to lose another queer brother or sister.
We are fighting to stay alive.
We are begging to be heard.
🌈💔 Being queer is NOT a crime.
Being alive should NOT be this hard.
If you are able, please support our fundraiser and help us get food, ARVs, and nutritional supplements. Together, you can help keep hope alive.
Your solidarity means everything.
Please don’t look away🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🌈🏳️⚧️.

With only three episodes left of the First season of Fat Positive Everything Podcast, I had the honor of interviewing Diana Dimmock, founder of @accessibility4everybody consulting!
Join us as we explore accessibility in the work place, what business owners MUST know and how customers can advocate for themselves!
Chosen families do not come to us in perfect packages; their very structure aims to resist the idea of family as something we are given and must accept. Holiday season, as much as any time of year, can be confusing and challenging for folks, especially for those who have been rejected/estranged from their biological families. It’s important for us as queer and trans people to remember that we CAN and DESERVE to create generative, healthy bonds, where we can experience abundant love, joy, safety, and belonging with people who allow us to feel valued and whole in their presence.
How do you find chosen family? This can be done through mutual friends or comrades, community organizing spaces, or shared interests! This can look like asking for help or support, becoming accountability buddies on projects and day-to-day tasks, ordering take out or groceries for each other during the hard days, showing up when you have capacity, and being open to receiving from others when you don’t. The process of finding chosen family is like planting seeds and nurturing a garden. One day, you look up and realize they’ve bloomed, and there are simply too many to count.
I’m reaching out because I’ve come to realize how important it is to not go through challenges alone—especially when navigating systems that can feel overwhelming or unfair.
I’m currently in a space where advocacy and support could really make a difference, whether it’s understanding my rights, finding accessible resources, or just having someone to stand beside me in the process. If you have experience, insight, or are part of a network that supports individuals facing educational, mental health, or systemic barriers, I’d deeply appreciate any guidance or connection you can offer.
This is not easy to ask—but I believe there’s strength in community, and that progress often begins with a conversation. If you’re open to talking, pointing me in the right direction, or simply listening, thank you. It means more than I can express.
Let’s build a future that’s more supportive, equitable, and kind—together.
