Anyway, thinking more about Night Vale. I guess what I don't like about how the show is going is that there's an element of predictability to it now. I mean, I can guess that most episodes will deal with Strex Corp, they'll be a cameo by Dana and/or her army, and a new VA will show up every now and then. Alternatively, a monster of the week will appear.
I dunno, maybe I am just a pretentious douchelord, but I miss when Night Vale would have episodes where Cecil would just talk about what was going on around town, or just wax poetically about nonexistent European nations. I'm still entertained by the show, mind you, and I still find it creative and clever. I just hope this Strex/Dana arc wraps up soon.
I guess I liked the show better when it was a weird blend between A Prairie Home Companion and Jon Hodgman's Complete World Knowledge series instead of a more standard story of rebellion against an evil megacorp. Again, different strokes for different folks. I guess my overall opinion of the show, while still high, is a bit more tempered? I guess that's the word? It kinda feels like one of the middle seasons of a long tv show like LOST where things are starting to feel routine. Like, the spark hasn't gone out, but it's a bit dimmer then before. That might just be familiarity breeding contempt, I admit.
Well, hopefully I'm wrong and full of shit and the next episode is awesome. Only one way to find out.
