If you really want someone to fix your computer you should let them have a look at it.
Because if you don’t, and if you say, “If you know so much about computers, you’d be able to tell me how to fix it without seeing it,” you’re probably more interested in bullying the other person and making them feel unnecessarily stupid.
There are a lot of reasons why computers stop working and the quickest way to fix it is to let people look at it.
Also, people from different ages and different cultures use different words to describe computer parts and computer software. And people who aren’t good with computers tend to use the wrong words in describing and naming computer parts. You’re going to be stuck forever if you stubbornly insist that the other person use your terminology for computer parts.
