Some doodles of my oc, Olivander Druze ( @worldsandfeathers ) as a Siren based on a Siren!AU done by a friend of mine, @godtoys. He’s a mixture of a reedfish/bichir + armoredcatfish + a lionfish, and has a long, sand colored snake/eel like body. His greatest assets are his speed and the venomous barbs that run along the rims of his ears, his spine, forearms, hips (which look like lionfish pectoral fins), hips, and periodically along his lower-half’s underbelly up to his tail. His venom is an incredibly potent neurotoxin that has a mixed effect of debilitating pain and paralysis which spreads as it works through the bloodstream.
Presumably like many other scale-fish sirens, Druze’s scales are both pretty and practical in that they act as a form of scale armor. They are tough and difficult to dislodge thus offering a bit of protection against predators- specifically other sirens. Aside from this, his main modes of defense are hiding/fleeing into a reef, coiling around himself so as to mimic a sea urchin - practically daring his attacker to get stabbed by his spines, and flicking his tail like a whip so as to strike, disorient, and, optimally, spear whatever he’s attacking with his spines.
Although Druze rather poor sight, he can feel heat and vibrations in the water with his fin-like spine sheathes. He also has a prodigious sense of smell as a siren and is quite adept at using these abilities for determining the locations of food, friends & foes alike. He also prefers warm, tropical waters and often stays within various reef systems - especially places where he can quickly bury himself in the sand to hide from predators or lure out unsuspecting prey/victims. Naturally, he uses this to his advantage and makes a good ambush predator.

Concept Art Thumbnails
The next project in my Digital Media class was concept art; a project I almost have done now but I figured I'd share my thumbnails as a teaser before you get the final.
We were suppose to create an illustration concept art like we would for a movie; the storyline I went with is a bit dark in case you couldn't tell, full of vampires, ghosts and other surprises, including gothic night clubs. I spent way too long on the thumbnails but that's no shocker.
