So, is it going to be the Buckley-Diaz-Riley family??

Theo's last name is Riley, as Kameron's actress Chelsea once shared a photo of her characters hospital band (I'm assuming for a scene in S6 that got cut) that had "Kameron Riley" on it...

I'm going to go with Buckley-Diaz-Riley because we all know Buck is just the donor, and if the rumour is true, Theo FOSTER parent, at the end of the season.

I honestly think he's going to struggle next season because, although he knows that the kid may be half of him, Theo is not his... He's Kameron and Connor's little boy, they're the people Theo called Mom and Dad and I bet you anything if we get a scene where Buck is trying to calm Theo down from a nightmare and Theo screams "I want my Mom and Dad. You're not my Dad!" It will hit Buck like a ton of bricks, and honestly, I want that angst... Knowing that you're raising a little kid that you had a hand in making, but knowing (since we went through the entire Buck accepting he's the DONOR, NOT the DAD arc in Season 6 and I also dont blame Buck for walking away at the end Season 6!) that Theo won't ever see him as Dad, he'll just be Buck...

The 118 find out that in Connor's will it stated that Buck became the guardian for Theo when both he and Kameron died. And they're like wow you guys must've been really close, like hey Buck were you and Connor ever y'know... together. And Buck's like no of course not he was my best friend back then and he was straight. And the others are like hmmm I don't know man I think maybe he was kinda in love with you or something. And the camera just pans to Eddie standing stock still, red in the face, having his oh moment.

Hello! Hope youre doing good and I hope you're basking in the feeling of being right and predicting this plot from miles away! Ahaha I would not shutup about if it were me :P

What do you think about the vast majority of this fandom being soooo negative about this plot? I agree the way it's been done is a bit filmsy and isn't the most moral way to go about it but it's almost like you simply cannot enjoy a storyline anymore just for the fun if it. There's already so much negativity around the world and this show is my escape from all that and seeing so many blogs just being negative and spreading that negativity is just annoying me now, I do not want to be annoyed scrolling through my dash so I've unfollowed and blocked so many blogs that I actually enjoyed but now it's just criticism after criticism and some even saying that just seeing that kid is annoying them... I don't know, I've always felt like there's two extremes in this fandom and you simply cannot stay in the middle!

That's not to say I do not agree with the criticisms, because I definitely 100% do but the way people are being so harsh about it is simply not it.

Anyway this is just to say thank god for your blog! I genuinely enjoy and appreciate the level of attention to detail to put into this show! It's nothing short of an art form to me.

I don't know that I feel much need to add to what you've said - I agree with much of it - I'm sorry you've had to go on a blocking and unfollowing spree - I have too and the black and white extremes nature of fandom these days is depressing but unfortunately mirrors the world we currently live in - grey and nuance are no longer recognised by so many!

I'm excited by this plot and enjoying watching it play out - I'm feeling pretty good about how much I predicted and can't wait to see if my remaining predictions about the will aspect prove correct and then seeing how it is developed over season 10!

Especially as they've very clearly set up an adhd plot line that I am hoping will lead to Buck getting himself a diagnosis as well as getting Theo one (I just hope they then explore it in a bit of detail and don't just get diagnosed and then never talk about it again!) particularly as I do think that it could play interestingly into anything they choose to do with Bucks brush with addiction - the impulsivity of ADHD and the fact that addiction is actually a common occurrence in ADHD - especially in undiagnosed ADHDers!

I personally don't really understand the criticism and negativity towards this plot from so much of the fandom - I'm not going to rat on or judge people for feeling negative towards it - thats their prerogative - but imo its been very clear that this was going to happen from the moment they introduced the sperm donor plot so I've basically been sat here waiting for it to crop back up again!

My personal feeling is that the intention was originally to have it play out more fully in season 6 - they knew they weren't getting renewed by fox and at that point had no guarantee that they'd be moving networks so had to plan things as if it was the final season of the show - they then changed things a fair amount in 6b after the lightning strike - when they knew they would be moving to abc and that is why things felt slightly janky after Buck woke from his coma, for example we know that they reshot the delivery scene very late on - after they had wrapped filming.

This is entirely theory on my part, but i think they might've been intending to have Connor abandoning Kameron who would then die in child birth - leading to Buck ending up with a newborn almost by default and due to the biological connection. This would have then lead to Eddie stepping up to support him and that leading into a buddie canon series finale situation - which would've all been built off of the lightning strike and Bucks recovery.

I'm kind of glad we never had to find out if they went that route (even if it did mean having to put up with Natalia and Marisol!), not only because I would've been heartbroken to loose my beloved weewoo show, but also because I think it would've felt like a cheap payoff and wouldn't have done justice to buddie, leaving us with buddie and an expanded Buckley-Diaz family, but in a far less satisfactory way.

Now that is not so say that, like you, I don't have plenty of criticism about how they are handling this plot (and several other plots for that matter), but ultimately I'm not surprised because this is generally how 911 plays out so I expect it at this point - I'm more shocked when we get development over an extended number of episodes!

I'm annoyed that they have only given it a two episode arc - I think it would've been far far more interesting to have had the 118 attending calls where Theo was either present or the cause of the call, over several episodes - allowing Buck to bond with him over an extended period of time so we got to see that bond much more fleshed out and developed - before he found out that Theo shares his dna. It would've been really fun and funny to have Buck getting ribbed by the 118 about if this was what it was like for him growing up etc as they all know Buck and about his childhood, I also think it would've made the genetic reveal more impactful as well making Connor and Kameron's deaths hit harder - because whilst I thought it was beautifully shot and that it was a bit heart wrenching, ultimately it was also a little bit disconnected and didn't hit me in the feels as so many other deaths on 911 do - which is weird considering we know C&K so much more than we do the other deaths on calls on the show (Bobby's death was not one on a call - its a separate thing). It also would've built on the Buck and kids concept nicely as well plus many other opportunities that would've created.

As you can see I have complaints and annoyances about how this plot is playing out and how others have been handled as well this season and past seasons (don't get me started on Hen's weird health issues plot that she magically seems to have fully recovered from despite it being a long term condition that shouldn't be that easily managed with seemingly no side effects or issues, or the lack of time actually spent on Bucks recovery from his brush with addiction - which I also have several issues with separate from the recovery aspect!) and I have aired many of those things on my blog, but I'm also someone who chooses to look at the good things and the things I enjoy or am intrigued by rather than focusing on the negatives. I also gain huge amounts of enjoyment of 911 because of how the show uses all the tools at its disposal - set, costumes, photography, lighting etc along with the script - to tell the story - like you say - its an art form!
