Elijah seems very quiet today. He needed an emergency visit today. He needed to see Jane about this. Part of him didn't know who else to talk to.

Jane had managed to fit Elijah in between two other appointments. It was tight, but she worked with a tight schedule before. She greeted him like usual, though omitted the part about food. Whatever it was seemed serious. And he would probably want to get too it as soon as he could. Jane was sitting in the beanbags today instead of at her desk. The laptop previously on her lap was set aside when he came in. She stood up once he entered.

Jane said nothing else. Just quietly listened.

There’s a sigh of relief as Connor finally reboots and opens his eyes. He did NOT want to explain this to Hank.

“I could ask you the same thing” he says looking over. Trying to see if there’s any fluid leaking. Gently handling his chin and slowly turning his face left to right. Seems he just knocked him out, not external damage that he’s seeing at least.

“Last I saw was shovel hit the back of your head, the guys arrested now but I didn’t think he got you that hard” he says while helping him slowly sit up.

"You don't think I'm not pissed about this!? I spent years crying, and drownin my sorrow in booze, playin with a loaded revolver...because I couldn't deal with my son's untimely death. And then they plop an android into my lap who just so happened to look like my baby boy all grown up? Yeah, I'm pissed about it" His tone seemed to contradict his words, instead of yelling or screaming about it, his voice was...tired, saddened even.

He kept comparing Cole with Connor in his head, kept seeing things in the android that reminded him so much of his son...to the point he felt guilty, like he was replacing his son with another one. It didn't feel fair to Connor, nor the memory of Cole. But...to find out it was all deliberate? That Cyberlife took it upon themselves to find out just who was going to be assigned these android cases, and model their "specialized android" after his dead son? All so Hank would be more willing to work with said android. It was disgusting...

"What I wouldn't give to be alone in a room with the genius who decided on that shit" He stated, arms crossed over his chest as he looked down towards the ground...he couldn't look at Connor right now, not after this bombshell was dropped on them. But...it wasn't Connor fault, none of this was...and it wouldn't be right for him to cast blame on him, or just...ignore him. He may not have some fancy android scanning function, but he knew Connor well enough, to know he was probably pretty stressed out. "It doesn't change what I said though Connor, you don't have to accept it either...hell I won't either. But, your here now...and I still think of you like a son, regardless of whatever mad scientist bullshit Cyberlife did." He would need time to fully process all of this, go thru all the stages of grief once more. But he didn't want to be alone with it either. After a few moments to think on it, he eventually walked over to the android, placing a hand on his shoulder, and pulling him into a hug. "Come on....let's go home" his voice was breaking, shaky...trying to keep himself together until they got out of here, but he couldn't stop the tears forming in his eyes.

An audible gasp as blood (was it blood?) splattered on the ground. Panic flashed in the gunman's eye - first that he had missed and also that the one he hit was... perhaps more unusual than originally planned. The gunman stumbled back, just as Calondra rushed forward, offering her savior someone to rest against. It only took a few seconds pregnant with horror on both ends for the gunman to sprint off, hopefully to hide.

"A-are you okay?!" Calondra desperately dug in her purse with the free hand for something they could use to block the bullet wound.

" You... You didn't need to do that..." The words heavy with grief.

The hell was he doing? He quit smoking years ago, and yet here he was outside the Station, unlit cigarette in his mouth that he bummed off a random officer. He didn't even have a lighter anymore, having thrown all of those out years ago. Well, maybe just having the damn thing in his mouth will be enough for some placebo affect or something. He leaned his head back against the wall, eyes closed as he tried to relax for a minute. He hadn't even heard anyone walk up to him until he heard that familiar sound of a lighter flicking. He cracked a grey eye open to see Anderson, lighting his smoke for him. Confused, but honestly grateful this very moment.

"Didn't know you smoked, Anderson" He commented, taking a long drag...god that's just what he needed right now. "Thanks for the light"

My favorite thing is that as someone with religious trauma it's healing to see this kind of portrayal and I just think he's neat

to be vulnerable here- that's the main reason why I write Yeshua at all. To heal my own religious trauma as the queer and disabled grandchild of a Baptist Minister.

TW: Slight trauma dumping ahead.

growing up, my mother's father was incredibly abusive and cruel. He would say that my Autism was God punishing me for impure thoughts (being queer and trans), and that I would be cured if I just abandoned "all sin".

He encouraged my mom to hold me down and pull out a loose baby tooth with pliers, kidnapped me and my sister often to take us to church events to try and 'fix' me, and discouraged both my art and my acting. He was one of my first bullies growing up.

I actually based a lot of Eluhim on my grandfather, as well as other abusive male authority figures in my childhood. Yeshua is the version of myself I want to be- still strong, happy, and kind in the face of a lifetime of abuse.

Strange odds and ends were a familiarity to crime scenes, and this one was no exception.

A teenage girl had been missing for two months, the case already gone cold from neglect with the sole lead being discovered only recently; an abandoned treehouse out in the middle of nowhere. Her parents, hopeless as they were, weren't even aware the place existed.

But evidence of the missing child remained in its depths, along with a small plastic figurine and a peculiar game disc left unlabeled.

‘Something's Wrong’ Sentence Starters

The mech-- no, the android form moved forward to lightly hold onto Elijah. There were some cuts on his hand-- it looked like they might've been from a damaged chip, from what Optimus could scan, with how jagged some of the markings on the skin were. With brows furrowing, he pulled Elijah to sit down.

" I will tend to you. " Optimus grunted, motioning for him to wait as he disappeared to one of the other rooms. Once he'd returned, the Prime was already there with some bandages and disinfectant, as well as some water. Putting the water on the table to be within Elijah's reach, Optimus himself took Elijah's hand, dabbing a few carefully-pinched cotton balls into the disinfectant, and now lightly dabbing at the wound. Luckily, there were no pieces of the actual broken chip itself, so he didn't need to worry about pulling any out.

" While I am very certain you can handle it, Elijah, I do not wish for this to become something greater if it is not tended to... " He trailed off a little as he wiped away any remaining blood, soon wrapping his hand with the bandages in question... There.

" Please, try to also have a little water. I... ah. " His face heated up in a bit of embarrassment, " ... will not be able to make the best of meals, so I may ask someone for some assistance with that. "
