hey anon! sorry this is a bit late, but I’ve had exams. anyway - so. demisexual!oliver :D I first touched upon this idea in my olicity fic open up your heart, where oliver talks about his first time with laurel and his connection with her. for me, oliver and laurel had their first time when they were really young, like, fifteen or so (and yes I know that’s illegal but only just, where I come from where the age of consent is sixteen), and he knew from that one time with her (they broke up, for complicated reasons, and got back together a few years later) that he loved her. she was his first love, and she’ll always be that in my mind. he goes back to her in the 4x19 flashbacks and they remember tommy together and then have wonderful hurt/comfort sex and I think he’ll always have that special connection with her because she was his first love. but I think oliver is like that with everyone he’s been with. in my head, his connection with sara in particular was really emotional, viscerally so, at the end of 2x13 when he was dealing with everything going on with his family and sara was dealing with hers, and they found comfort in each other. and felicity - his first time with her was when he was doubting himself and she told him how knowing him changed her life and he opened up her heart.
and even fanon ships like toliver and constanqueen - they come from a powerful bond of friendship, in my mind. (I know we didn’t see much of constantine but considering he and oliver kept in touch all those years after the island they must have been good friends, right?) laurel said it herself - “I know how passionately you love”, and that could not be truer for oliver queen. and I get that it’s easy to dismiss ollie as a playboy who went from girl to girl but I think, personally, he was trying to find that connection he found with laurel. and he didn’t find it with anyone (although he did seem upset over samantha losing the baby and was visibly affected by it to the point that other people noticed), which is what drove him to end up sleeping with his girlfriend’s sister, and I don’t think even then he found it, not until after the island when they went through that crucible together and they got together during season 2. it’s not something he’s proud of, by any means, and he only realises it in hindsight, the way we do with a lot of things.
obviously this is just my (multishipping) opinion. I love olicity, lauriver and canarrow (no one @ me please) and am not saying any one ship is more important than the other. what I am saying is that he had a passionate bond with all three women at different points in his life, and he loved them all.
I haven’t even started the new season of Arrow because I’m leaving the country soon and would rather watch it all at once when I get back. But I still ship the fuck out of Constanqueen and think about it pretty regularly. Aside from the doomed Toliver, it’s the only m/m ship for Oliver I’m enthusiastic about.

Constanqueen headcanon that John always steals Oliver’s stash of Tennessee whiskey and/or good Russian vodka but he’s clever about it so Oliver keeps thinking he just drank it all and buys more and John just steals it again and this happens over and over and over until Digg turns to him one day and just
“You know he steals that stuff every time he comes here, right?”

Okay so I had to go through pretty much all of my OTP tags to find a ship I haven’t done for this particular ask thing. Apparently I need to stop reblogging this one? Anyway, it’s your lucky day because the ship I landed on is Constanqueen.
Who made the first move: John. Definitely John.He flirted, Oliver got all flustered, and John decided then and there that this fellow disaster of a human being was someone he needed to have in his life.
Who said ‘I love you’ first: Oliver. It remains the one and only time he’s ever been able to make John blush.
How often they fight: Fights are a shockingly rare occurrence between them. They both have highly unusual and highly dangerous jobs and less than stellar decision making skills, so that becomes an issue sometimes. But aside from the usual domestic bickering, they’re pretty chill with each other.
Whose big spoon/little spoon: These two do a lot of stumbling to bed in the middle of the night, which usually results in the latecomer passing out on whatever space is available on the mattress. But when there is cuddling involved, Oliver is almost always the big spoon. No matter who goes to sleep when or what position they happen to be in, Oliver eventually ends up curled around John.
What their nicknames are for each other: They’re not really nickname people, but Oliver gets called ‘love’ an awful lot.
Whose the better cook: Oliver does most of the cooking. He’s actually gotten much better since he and John started living together, because John is a bit of a hazard in the kitchen. He’s got about six things he can do well that don’t come out of a box, but the execution of said dishes results in a gigantic mess.

Who remembers their anniversaries: Oliver.
Their favorite thing to do together (besides sex):John LIVES for riling up the Starling City paparazzi. He can’t for the life of him figure out why everyone is so interested in Oliver’s personal life. It’s hysterical to him. So he’s forever dragging Oliver to random places around the city, waiting to see how long it takes for the cameras to show up, and how long they’re willing to wait around for John and Oliver to do something interesting. Oliver thinks its juvenile, but the more time the press spends harassing them, the less time they spend harassing Thea. And they can’t discuss work in public, so this is the only time he can pretend they’re both ordinary people. It’s nice.
Who ‘wears the pants’ in the relationship: JOHN.
How they would get engaged: Oliver is so the romantic dinner, down on one knee kind of guy. I’m pretty sure John would laugh at him. I’m also pretty sure John would make a green card joke somewhere in there.
What their wedding would be like: In the spirit of fucking with the press, they would have some giant spectacle of a wedding planned out, with lots of help from Thea. Rather, they’d put a lot of work into creating the illusion of a giant spectacle. And then fly everyone to some tiny tropical island (because John has a terrible sense of humor, and also because it’s kind of weirdly romantic?) so they can have the ceremony and reception in peace, with all of their vigilante friends present.
