Having a skin condition/skin allergies is so fun because you'll be clawing at yourself like a hive of ants started the process of turning you into one of the meat suits they puppet, but in reality you maybe had a little too much dairy, or your skin just doesn't particularly like you that day.
And the whole time you have to reassure everyone that you are NOT contagious, and they will not be subject to 'The Itch'™ later that week
I love werewolves for multiple reasons but one of the reasons is metaphors, I love comparing myself to a werewolf because I have eczema (dyshidrotic, contact, atopic, I’m collecting them like Pokémon) cause it’s like yeah, I’m afflicted with an incurable skin condition that makes me feel like a monster when it flares and people give me weird looks and stay away because they think I’ll infect them thus leading me to a downward spiral mentally over something that I can’t control and be free from no matter how hard I try
In other words yes I do love werewolves
for any HS flare people/MCAS/histamine intolerance with contact dermatitis for ahdesive!
I found a set of curad bandages at the Dollar Tree and they had these bandages that are mostly pad and only a little adhesive area. they're good for under chest flares and minimize the amount of adhesive on skin!
october is eczema awareness month and my eczema is making me very aware of it right now
Well, it's been a hell of a couple of weeks, and one of many things that happened is that I ended up coming home from Urgent Care looking rather like fruit being packed up for long distance shipping.
I got pretty scraped up when I fell while hiking nearly a month ago. Then I got significantly better... and then I got a whole lot worse.
If you would like to avoid some truly disgusting and painful wounds, you should know that you are likely to develop an allergy to Neosporin if you use it for multiple weeks (and probably the same goes for other brands of over-the-counter antibiotic ointments, I'm guessing).
Shoutout to all the other skin condition havers out there - it isn't the worst currently, but I have Excema, and these spot recently reappeared on my neck, and eyelids. With, or without it, I think I (and my outfit) look great.
I often think when I have flare-ups that it makes me look awful, gross, or infectious most days, even making me hesitate to venture into public, but I've been starting to feel better. Skin conditions don't make you scary, bad, or wrong - they're just things you live with.
