LEAK/SPOILER about Season 2 of Stranger Things!
RANDOM TWITTER ACCOUNT: "'Steve and Nancy have an intimate conversation and talk about future plans, kiss, and say they love each other!''
Stancy is endgame guys!
EDIT: Some people aren't used to my sarcasm! This is poking fun at the "leaks"' that Mike and El will kiss in a field or something in Season 5 and how this supposedly proves Mileven is endgame. Such a ''leak'' would've have proven nothing then. And it proves nothing now.

I think sometimes people forget how important historical context is when reading old books (the reason so many people think Jane Austen novels are nothing but romances instead of social commentary), so I just want to give an example from an author other than Austen to show exactly how much the time, place, politics, and learning of the era a book is written in matters. This one has always been particularly hilarious to me.
So the first time we meet Doctor Mortimer in The Hound Of the Baskervilles (a sherlock holmes novel published in 1902), we have just learned that he's a surgeon, he owns a dog, and he has a habit of leaving his walking stick behind despite his dog having a habit of picking it up and carrying it around. This stick was a gift from his friends and coworkers that they gave him right before he left London to practice medicine in the country. So, like... slightly flaky, guy, right? He then takes one look at Holmes, and is like (paraphrased, of course) "Dude, your skull is so NARROW! I had no idea your skull would be so long and narrow! Ooh, and can I maybe take a plaster cast of your head until you're dead and I can study your actual skull? And would you mind terribly if I were to start running my fingers over your scalp? That would be fine, right? I promise not to make it weird! Also, I think my friend was killed by some kind of hell hound that his family's cursed by..."
Which paints a very vivid picture of the kind of guy Doctor Mortimer is, right? Dude is clearly a total weirdo, right? WRONG! Because this is the part where historical context matters. All his ramblings about the shape of Holmes's skull and how much he wants to get his hands on it after Holmes dies? That's all there to show us that Doctor Mortimer is on the cutting edge of modern science, because he knows his phrenology inside out. Dude digs up ancient burial mounds for funsies and thinks you can tell everything you need to know about a person by the shape of his head, and from this we're meant to understand that he's a rational scientist which is why we can take what he has to say about the demon hound seriously. And this is why understanding the historical context of old books will change the way you read them.

It’s a great fic! I highly recommend this “through the ages” series. This part was the first thing I read after watching the finale in the chapters I was re-reading. If you read this excerpt (told from Aziraphale’s perspective), it will probably make you sad right now💗
“He had never wanted to kiss him more than right in that moment.
Instead he reached up his hand, plucking Crowley’s fingers from his hair and enfolding them in his own.
“Yes,” he said simply and quietly, pressing the demon’s hand against his cheek and closing his eyes again. “I’d be sad too if I didn’t have eternity.”
Eternity meant there was always hope. Always time to hope that things would change. That he wouldn’t always be stuck in this dance of heaven and hell and good and evil and angels and demons. Always hope that one day things would be better. That one day he wouldn’t feel so torn in two.
They lapsed back into silence, sitting there together, in front of a fire that never burnt any lower, in bodies that would never get any older, in lives where they could afford the time to sit like this, until the sun rose high in the sky and started to descend towards nightfall again.
Time to pretend that things were other than they were.
For now, it was all they had.”
ok so i finally looked into the original shooting scripts for buffy episodes because i was so curious and that one deleted scene from 6x9 (hehe) is so fascinating to me because when you watch the episode when spike calls buffy and then eventually finds buffy to show off that he can hurt her theres this sort of horror you feel, maybe like the way buffy is feeling that finally spike is going to try to kill her. but in the original script theres an earlier scene after his discovery that buffy is the reason the chip isnt firing off, not him, he's setting up his entire crypt. he picks out a romantic record, he lights candles, theres flowers. he's also setting up a stun gun a length of rope and handcuffs. so no actually immediately after his visit to the trio hes like ok now we can do some k1nky shit yay!!! and then theres a funny little scene where he forgets quarters for the payphone lmao
but my thoughts on this are that it's so interesting how warped and not warped his mind is in the sense that he's setting this up to be romantic. like this is a good thing for them. hes in the mindset of being with drusilla again, like this gothic romance is peak romance and this is his way of a grand gesture even though it's super creepy. i also think if this scene had been included we wouldve seen too early evidence of them viewing things in different ways. spike doesn't actually understand that the chip not working on her is not the romance novel of her dreams
okay it can't just be me that finds it infuriating when people have 'dead dove do not eat' on their blog, but no actual mention of what specific dddne content might appear. like what exactly am i walking into??
Remember when half this webbed site was convinced somebody special was standing outside the station hence all the smiling? And really it was them just laughing about the nameless faceless construction workers?
Yeah.
Never bet big on a still. 😭😂
