Jealousy (Jay Halstead x Reader)
Prompt: I wanted one with Jay Halstead. Him being jealous of yn and Antonio and saying something that hurt yn, then apologizing and saying that he is only afraid of losing it and that he loves yn. Cute ending please
Requested: @fofisstilinski
Warnings: cursing, drug dealing father, Rude Jay Halstead
Working in Intelligence has been the most interesting time you’ve had in your time at the CPD. You’ve been able to feel like you’re making a difference. Plus, you had your two best friends to have your back: Jay Halstead and Antonio Dawson.
You’ve known Antonio since you joined CPD. He was the one to push you to apply to the academy. You’d met him when he busted your father for selling drugs. He’d sort of taken you under his wing. Through him and his support, you were able to graduate at the top of your class from the academy. You were friends with his daughter and son and would come over for dinners at his place every other week. He was family, and you loved it.
You met Jay after you started working in the 21st district. You were a patrol officer that pulled up to a domestic disturbance. You and your partner ended up walking into a huge drug operation that funneled through a cartel member’s house. Needless to say, you had to call for backup.
That backup happened to include Intelligence. You’d been helping them to clear the house when someone had bolted out the back. You’d called out and ran after the suspect. After getting your gun tossed away from you, you’d had to rely on you hand to hand that your father had taught you...all that to say you had definitely impressed Jay as he’d been the one to run after you when you called that a suspect was running.
Since then, you’d been good friends with Jay. After getting shot on the job, you’d been able to choose where you wanted to go and, obviously, you chose Intelligence. You’d always been interested in the work they did.
That lead you to having multiple successful cases and celebrations at Molly’s. Tonight, you were hanging out with Antonio and his sister. Jay had yet to show up and the other Intelligence members were scattered across the bar.
Your head was tilted back as you laughed and leaned into Antonio after he told a particularly funny joke when Jay walked in. His eyes were immediately on you and he could feel the familiar anger start rearing its head as he watched you place a hand on Antonio’s arm.
Jay grabbed a beer from the bar and turned to watch you. You were animated, probably telling a story from a couple of days ago that involved you and Antonio (as Antonio was your partner in the field). He watched as Antonio bumped his shoulder against yours as you, Gabby, and him laughed.
“If you keep glaring at them like that, you’re going to set one of them on fire,” Hailey stated as she leaned on the bar next to him.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he stated before taking a sip of his beer.
“It’s been the same story the past few times we’ve been at Molly’s. (Y/N) and Antonio are having a good time and you’re letting the little green monster come out to play.”
“I’m not-” his attention is snapped back to the table when he hears you snort. He watches as you practically lean fully against Antonio, one hand coming to your mouth to cover it as you close your eyes and laugh. Antonio is leaning into you as he laughs as well. Jay can feel himself straighten and narrow his eyes at the two of you.
“Sure, you’re not jealous or anything,” Hailey muttered over her glass.
“I’m not,” Jay growled.
The second Antonio’s hand touched your back, Jay was heading over to the table. He took a seat next to Gabby and smiled tensely at the table. “What’s going on,” he asked.
“Oh, I was just telling Gabby about Antonio’s ‘take down’ where he ended up covered in mud and I told him that he couldn’t step foot in my car like that so he had to take a public bus back to the station.”
“Right, so you being a bitch is supposed to be funny?”
The smile slipped off your face as you looked at Jay, “excuse me?”
“You cost the investigation valuable time by making Antonio find a way back to the station just because you were being stingy about your car. That’s childish, (Y/N).”
“Jay, man-”
“No, Antonio, let him keep going.”
Jay’s heart hurt at the look that Y/N as giving him, but he couldn’t shut his mouth. “I mean, you just act so childish when we’re working cases. You joke around too much and it’s honestly annoying. You act like you were never taught how to be a grown up.”
The second the words were out of his mouth, he regretted them. He knew how you grew up, his last comment was way too far. He honestly didn’t blame you when you threw your drink on him. “I’m sorry that my father was a jackass drug dealer that didn’t have time to teach me much of anything or give me an actual childhood, maybe that’s why I act the way I do. Instead of letting it all build up, you should have just talked to me earlier on, asshole.”
You stormed out of Molly’s and Jay put his head in his hands. He hadn’t meant anything he said...he was just so angry that you and Antonio were so close...he hadn’t thought. “You certainly kept digging your grave, Jay,” Antonio stated. There was no heat in his voice...Antonio was the only one who knew of his feelings towards you.
“Shut up,” Jay groaned.
“Those words penetrated deep. If you want any chance with her, you need to go and fix it now.”
Jay nodded, standing up. He downed the rest of his drink. “Sorry man,” he muttered as he hurried out the door.
Jay could see you walking down the road. You probably hadn’t driven yourself to the bar because you were planning on having some fun and drinking. Jay ran towards you, he could see your tense shoulders and slumped posture...he hated being the one to have caused that. “I didn’t mean any of it,” he called out when he was a few feet behind you.
You didn’t turn, but you did stop walking. “You said it.”
“I said what I said out of anger and fear...I just-I didn’t mean it. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I don’t ever want to hurt you.”
You rounded on Jay, eyes blazing. “Then why did you say it Jay? Because everything you said stung.”
Jay took a deep breath, stepping closer. “I just-seeing you all over Antonio...leaning into him and laughing and knowing that I’m not the one making you that happy. Knowing that I’m not the one putting that perfect smile on your face...I was just afraid of losing you. I was afraid that you were being wooed by someone else and that I’d never get the chance. I love you, Y/N Y/L/N. I’m in love with you and it felt like I was losing you so I said shit to make you leave him because at least then, you’re not close to him. I-I’m sorry, I should have taken a breath before coming over to talk to you. I promise you, I didn’t mean anything I said.”
Your face was hard to decipher as you processed what he had said. Jay was in love with you...he was afraid of losing you. You let a small smile fall onto your face. “For the record, you’ve always had me and you wouldn’t lose me, Dork. You’re lucky I love you and forgive you.” You hugged Jay, wrapping your arms around his middle as his arms went around your shoulders. “But if you ever say shit like that again to me, I’ll kick your ass.”
“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Jay stated, pressing a kiss to your head.
For your impersonation game. "Eddie Diaz 😍😍😍." I also feel like "Protect Eddie Diaz at all costs" or "Bring back the fluffy hair" work pretty well.
They ARE bringing back the fluffy hair we’re so blessed 😭😭😭😭

Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
Themyscira 20 years past
The ocean’s tide continued to bash the beach. The queen watched expectantly. She had a feeling that something was going to happen. She had felt a need to be close to the ocean all day long. The storm had only started an hour prior. On the horizon, she could barely make out a vessel. Her instincts told her to gather her warriors in case this was an attack, but another feeling had her pause and wait.
As the vessel got closer, she could see it straining under the storm before a giant storm surge tore the boat apart. As soon as the storm started, it stopped and the debris started to wash ashore. She traveled down to the beach from her perch on the cliff. As she looked at the debris, she saw a white bundle.
The queen approached slowly as a wail pierced the air. She carefully picked up the bundle and smiled at the child. She waited to see if the parents would wash ashore, but a sinking feeling in her gut told her that they did not make it through the storm. She gently bounced the child as she made her way back up to her people. She would raise this child the best way she knew how; by making her a warrior of Themyscira.
Themyscira 14 years past
Diana laughed as the (y/h/c) haired girl attached herself to the Princess. “Young (Y/N), I do have work to attend to.”
“Diana,” the young girl whined, “I am bored. I have no one to spend time with but you!”
“If you would let me do my work, we can do whatever you would like after I am done,” Diana offered.
She chuckled at the ‘thinking face’ the young Princess put on. A smile appeared on the young girl’s face, “I guess that is a good deal. Will you find me when you are done?”
“Most definitely young one,” Diana smiled. The young girl took off at the confirmation.
Most of the Themyscirans laughed as the young girl ran through the village. She was a ball of light that the women didn’t know they had needed. They happily brought her in when the queen had introduced her as an infant washed ashore. “(Y/N), you need to be more careful,” Queen Hippolyta called as she conversed with one of her advisors.
“Yes, Mother.”
Themyscira Present Day
You huffed a breath as your sword was blocked yet again and thrown to the side. “Again,” Agatha stated.
“Agatha, we have been at this for hours, could we not take a small break,” you asked, already knowing the answer.
“You will do as you are told. Again.” You picked up your sword and got into your battle stance. You made the first move, striking out with the sword as a distraction in order to land a blow with your foot to her chest. She retaliated with a combination move of her own that sent you flying to the ground with her sword at your throat. “Again.”
This continued until the sun was in the middle of the sky. By the end of the session, you had finally almost pinned Agatha. “We have made good progress. I will see you tomorrow as the sun rises.”
“As you wish, Agatha,” you stated and took your leave before she could change her mind and bring you back into training.
You weren’t like most Themyscirans. You weren’t as strong as them or as graceful. You knew it was because you were fully human, from the man’s world, not Themyscira. You were an accident, but that didn’t stop Queen Hippolyta from taking you in and treating you as any other Themysciran.
You straighten your back as you watched your mother, the Queen approach. You bowed your head, right arm crossing your chest. “I take it that your lesson with Agatha is over,” she asked as you straightened back up, arm dropping to your side.
“Yes, my Queen. I was planning on going to the meadow with Stream,” you held the reigns of your horse.
“Do not be long, dearest (Y/N). Diana will be returning today,” she smiled as your face lightened at the fact.
“Diana is coming back? It has been ages since I have seen her,” you exclaimed. Diana had left to help the man’s world ten years prior.
“She has business to attend to here and will be bringing guests. You may speak with her after she and I have talked. I am putting you in charge of watching the outsiders. If they are to try anything, you have full permission to stop them.”
You nodded at your mother’s orders. “I will not fail you, my Queen.” With her dismissal, you mounted your horse and rode to the meadow. You were excited to be able to see Diana again and excited to meet her friends. You didn’t think she’d bring anyone that would hurt her people, this was Diana you were talking about. She wouldn’t bring anyone that she didn’t trust to her home.
You looked up to the sky as you heard a jet. You backed your horse up as you realized the jet would be landing in the clearing. Once the jet stopped moving, you got off Stream and had her wait for you near the trees.
The back of the jet lowered and you cautiously walked around to it. The second you saw Diana, you ran to her, wrapping your arms around her, “Diana! You are back!”
She returned your hug, laughing. “Sister, you have grown.”
“That tends to happen over ten years time. You do not write or visit, how am I to know that you are alright? I have been worried sick,” you exclaim, backing up and looking her over to make sure she was alright.
“I am fine, (Y/N). Where is Mother?”
“I am to take you to her and entertain your guests while you two talk.” You finally looked to her companions. Your shoulders tensed. Men.
Sensing your hesitation, Diana put a hand on your shoulder. “I would like to introduce you to my friends and colleagues. (Y/N), this is Batman, Nightwing, Superman, and Aquaman. Guys, this is my little sister, (Y/N).”
You looked at the four men before taking a couple of steps forward, squaring your shoulders. You held out a hand to Batman first, “give me a reason to distrust any of you and I will kick your ass.”
You could see the tiniest of smirks on the young man’s face. “I highly doubt that you would be able to kick our asses, but your threat is noted.”
Your eyes narrowed at him before you turned to Nightwing, and shook his hand. “Don’t worry about him, he’ll behave.”
You continued onto Superman who smiled at you. “Nice to meet you.”
“Same to you.” You shook the last man’s hand and gave him a small smile. “I will show the four of you around after we drop Diana off. If you will all follow me,” you stated as you walked towards Steam and grabbed her reigns.
Diana walked beside you as the other walked behind you both. “How have you been,” she asked.
“I am up before the sun rises, training with Agatha. I have yet to have the winning title with her. Mother seems more stressed, always looking at battle plans and talking with her advisors. She has not brought me in yet, but I can tell there is something wrong. The others are all tense and constantly pushing me to train harder, be faster. I understand my need to train, but I would like to be able to enjoy the little things every now and again. How are you, Sister?”
Diana wrapped an arm around your shoulders as you walked. “I have been well. I helped to start a team of heroes to go against threats to the world. We have saved the world multiple times now. We have even started a team of younger heroes. I enjoy training with them all. I learn new things about the world each day I am out there. I would like to show you around some time.”
“Out there? With all of the corrupted men? Sister I do not think that a good idea.”
Hearing a loud laugh from behind you, you turned around. The confusion on your face caused the Superman to laugh again. “I do not see what is funny,” you stated.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t meaning to listen in on your conversation, but I do have super hearing. Not all men are corrupted, Miss (Y/N).”
You studied him as you responded, “Princess, not Miss. You can just call me (Y/N).” You turned and started walking again. You led the group into the Palace. When you got to the guards at the door to your Mother’s advising area, they moved to the side, opening the doors for you. You knelt to the ground, right arm crossing your chest, and bowed your head. “My Queen, Princess Diana, Superman, Batman, Aquaman, and Nightwing have arrived.” Those mentioned entered the room as you stood up to your full height.
“Thank you, (Y/N). Welcome Superman, Batman, Aquaman, and Nightwing. Welcome home, Diana. We have much to discuss. (Y/N), if you would take the four men and show them around,” she trailed off.
“If I may, Queen Hippolyta. What you will be discussing with Diana also concerns us. I would appreciate one of us staying to go over the plans as well as Diana,” Superman smiled at the end of his declaration.
“I understand Superman, but Diana will fill you in on the details after we discuss them.”
As you saw Batman about to respond, you shook your head, raising a hand to silence him. You didn’t want them to upset your Mother. There was a hierarchy to follow and as guests, they had to understand that they didn’t get to call the shots like they did outside of Themyscira. You ushered the four out of the room and began walking back towards the entrance of the palace with them. “I understand your concern, Superman, but do not overstep. You are here as guests,” you stated.
“There is an imminent threat, we should be in there making battle plans with Diana and your Queen,” Batman huffed.
You stopped walking and turned to him. “It is a blessing that Mother let you on Themyscira at all. Do not push your limits, you will get burned in the end. There are loads of Amazonians here that hate the simple fact that you four are here, if you start complaining about the Queen, things will get hairy.” You turned back around and walked out of the palace. “Amelia, would you grab four horses from the coralle?”
You mounted Stream and waited. “I’m very sorry if we offended you. We didn’t mean to,” Nightwing spoke.
You looked at him and gave him a smile. “I am not offended. Everyone deserves a second chance. You are guests, you do not know our ways. I expected for you to make mistakes. You must learn and move on from them.”
“That is a very mature way to think of things, (Y/N),” Aquaman stated.
You smirked and chuckled. “I have been told that multiple times.”
As the four mount the horses, you tuned in your hearing to the meeting Diana was having with the Queen. “She is not ready for this, Diana. She does not know of everything that transpired after she arrived here.”
“Ready to go,” Superman asked.
You barely flinched at his voice. It was like he was screaming with how tuned up your hearing was, but you’d had practice in not showing how startled or disoriented you were. You had to in order to get away with it. “I am. Let us go.”
4 hours later
“Princess (Y/N), the Queen would like for your to take the guests back to the palace,” Hathila called as she pulled her horse to a stop next to you. “She says to be quick.”
“Thank you, Hathila. Follow me,” you called to the four already mounting the horses again. You galloped off to the palace, the four men not far behind you.
You let Amelia take your horses as you walked back into the palace. As before, the doors were opened for you and you knelt down, right arm over your chest, head bowed, “is there anything else you need, My Queen?”
“That would be all. You are dismissed (Y/N).” Without looking back, you exited the room and left the palace. You went back to the meadow and laid in the grass. It had been awhile since you’d been able to just lay and relax under the sun.
You don’t know how long you’d been laying there before you decided to head back into the village. “(Y/N), where have you been? Jocylin has been looking for you. She is angry.”
“What could she be angry about? I have not seen her all day,” you stated.
“Did you not think I would not find out,” Jocylin shouted as she walked down the path.
“Find out what?”
“You know exactly what I am talking about, (Y/N),” she snarled.
You shook your head. “I do not. What is this about, Jocylin.”
“You were with four men on Themysciran soil. That is against what we stand for. I see you follow in Diana’s footsteps.”
You raised an eyebrow at her outburst. “They are guests of Diana’s. The Queen approved of them being here.”
“Excuses. They should not have left the palace if they were guests,” she threw a sword to you.
“You are not serious. We are not going to fight in the middle of the village,” you sighed.
“I challenge you as heir to the throne. You are not of Amazonian blood. You should not be the heir. You have further proven to not know of proper Amazonian law.” So that was what this was about. Your impure blood.
“You have been waiting for an opportunity to challenge me, have you not,” you asked as you kept the sword lowered. “Since we were children you have thought yourself better than me because I was not of pure Amazonian blood. If you wanted to challenge me because of my impurity, why have you not done it sooner?”
A crowd had gathered by this time, including the Queen, Diana, and the four guests. Once a challenge was called for, there was no intervention from the queen, it had to be seen through. “Do you accept the challenge,” she sneered.
“There is no other worthy choice. Conditions. We stop when the other has the kill shot and there is no other move that can be made by the one down. No powers used. Clean and fair fight,” you stated.
“I accept your conditions.”
You placed your blade in front of you, watching Jocylin as she got into her stance. You both stared at each other, waiting for the other to make a move. “Are you just going to look at me? You wanted a challenge,” you sighed.
She jumped forward and your swords clashed as you deflected. You slammed her sword outward and forcefully kicked her chest, making her stumble back and gasp for breath. You advanced, taking her feet out from under her and moving to place your sword at her throat. You realized your mistake too late when her sword made contact with your leg, cutting it pretty deeply.
The moment of distraction you gave to the cut was enough for Jocylin to get the upper hand. You sword clattered to the ground as she broke your wrist. You glared at her as you put space between the both of you. She picked up your sword, pointing them both at you. “Nothing else you can do, Princess,” she sneered.
“You underestimate me,” you stated calmly as you charged at her. You faked her out and ducked under her right arm, getting away with a small scratch along your back before you land a hard blow to her back, knocking her off balance. You grabbed her left arm, twisting it until she released your blade. You used her momentum forward to slam her to the ground, your sword pressed against the back of her neck. With her arm still twisted behind her back. “Toss your blade. This battle is over.”
She struggled and you held her firmer. “Toss your blade Jocylin,” you growled. After a couple of seconds, she tossed it out. You got off of her and stabbed the blade into the ground beside her. “Challenge resolved. Good effort, Jocylin.” You offered her your hand, but she slapped it away, getting up by herself.
You both regarded each other before you turned to walk away. “I do not think we are done. An Impure will not best me,” she yelled as the ground began to lock your feet into place.
“Jocylin, this is not the way of our people. Your challenge is over. Release Princess (Y/N),” your mother called.
“You call allowing an impure mutt to be the next ruler, the way of our people? I respectfully disagree, Queen Hippolyta.”
“I can not get through the shielding, My Queen,” another Amazonian called.
“I call a new Challenge. Conditions: Powers are allowed. We stop once the other is dead. Use any means necessary.” She stopped in front of you and smirked. “I’m glad you agree to the terms of the challenge,” she laughed before you could respond.
“I do not agree with your conditions,” you gritted out.
“Too bad, you have already agreed.” She placed the sword to your cheek and cut across it. You didn’t flinch.
“I find it repulsing that you would harm an unarmed woman. Do you think that if you kill me like this anyone will take your challenge victory seriously?” She trailed the sword down your neck before sighing and walking out of your vision.
You tensed at not being able to see her. Then she was back in your sights, handing you a sword. “I guess since you have no powers, it is only fair that you have a sword to defend yourself. After all, I will be seen as a fair ruler.”
You laughed at that, “so after this you’re going to challenge our Queen? That is laughable. You would not make it two seconds against her.”
You blocked the sword that swung towards you, but was unable to avoid the piece of earth that sent you flying backwards and into the shield she’d put around your arena. As you went to run towards her, the ground once again swallowed your feet. “Are you finding it hard to move,” she asked innocently.
You smirked at her, “no, I decided to take a little rest.” You could hear some of your fellow Amazonians laugh at that even though they were still worried about you. You sent up a prayer to any of the gods listening, hoping for their help over Jocylin’s powers. You blocked her next attack and tried to dodge the rocks thrown at you, but with limited mobility, it was pretty difficult. “You are enjoying this too much,” you sighed.
Before she could respond, the sky darkened and thunder rumbled. Lightning streaked across the sky. You felt your senses heighten as a lightning bolt struck between you and Jocylin. The electrical current flowed into your sword and across your body, breaking the rocks holding you in place. You rose to your full height, your body starting to float above the ground. You could feel the electricity flowing through you easily.
I have waited a long time for you to call on me, Child, a deep voice rattled in your head. I sense your confusion. I am Zeus. You are the only way I am allowed to come into contact with the human world. You are a vessel, if you will.
You didn’t have time to question him as you were brought back to the problem at hand, Jocylin. Do not worry, I will finish her. “I do not wish to kill her,” you stated out loud. Very well.
The battle didn’t last long as Zeus used his lightning to knock Jocylin out. With her out of commission, the barrier dropped and the Queen along with Diana and the four superheroes approached. “My Queen,” you stated, bowing your head before straightening again. “I do not know what is happening to me.”
“There is a lot we need to discuss, my child.”
Indeed we do, Zeus stated. Aqualad slightly flinched at the voice while the others eyes widened slightly.
“I am not the only one that hears him,” you asked.
At this point in time, no. I am speaking to all of you.
You stood completely still. This couldn’t be happening. You didn’t have a god inhabiting your body. Inhabiting sounds like I am a parasite. I merely live alongside you. I grant you the ability to wield lightning, to fly, to have enhanced senses and strength. In return, I keep from perishing like the other gods.
The Queen ushered you and the others into her war room. There were so many questions you had. You couldn’t believe that this was actually happening to you. You kept thinking that you would wake up and this all be a dream. I can confirm that this is not a dream. You are not going crazy. This is actually happening. Yes I know all of your thoughts. No, if I were to leave, I would cease to exist. Yes I had something to do with how you ended up on Themyscira. Yes I do need food. You need food to live therefore I live.
“Okay, just-can you be silent for a minute so I can gather my thoughts,” you exclaimed quietly, rubbing your fingers against your pounding skull.
“I wanted to tell you sooner,” your mother started as she watched you. “I had brief contact with Zeus a couple of days before you arrived on Themyscira. He told me of a human he found to be compatible with his being. You have to understand that if all of the Greek Gods go extinct, we cease to exist. Zeus was the last. He made a connection with you as a baby, but could not fully connect with you at that age.”
As your mother paused, you spoke. “So you raised me as a conduit for a god and never thought to tell me? I am to be stuck with another being inside me, sharing my mind, and you never once thought to bring it up,” your voice shook with the anger you were feeling.
“I will do what I have to do to keep my people safe. (Y/N)-”
“I think I understand now,” your expression was blank, your voice having calmed. “The whole time you were raising me, telling me that I would be the one to take your place one day, it was all lies. You just wanted me around to be a god’s bitch. Thank you very much for the warning, Mother.” You turned and pushed past Diana and her friends.
“(Y/N), you do not have permission to leave,” your mother called.
“I think we are way past pleasantries and permission, Mother. I did not give permission to be used as a conduit, yet I am.” You walked out of the room and out of the palace. You took your horse and ran until you were sure your mother wouldn’t find you any time soon.
You should not be mad at your mother. I am the one who asked her to keep this from you until you were ready. She was planning to tell you soon. “Kindly keep your thoughts to yourself.” I never planned to use you. I will not take over your mind and make you do something you do not want to do. I plan to keep you safe, enhance your strengths. I plan to coexist with you so that your people continue to live on.
“My people? I do not belong here. As for you, I still never gave consent to be your conduit. I had no choice in the matter. It was taken from me.”
You can sulk all you want, it does not change the fact that we are bound.
Before you can reply, the leaves rustle behind you. “It is just me, (Y/N),” Diana called. “I remember that this was your favorite place to come if you were upset when you were little.”
“Were you in on it?”
Diana sat next to you. You shook her hand off as soon as she tried to put her arm around you. She looked at you and sighed. “I did not know until today when Mother and I were talking about the battle plans.”
“So she plans to use me in a battle as well? This day keeps getting better,” you ground out.
You and Diana sit in silence. You watch the ocean crash on the rocks below with your arms wrapped around your knees. “I do not want to be the only thing keeping Themyscira from ceasing to exist,” you whispered after a while. “It has to be a mistake,” you added.
Diana successfully pulled you to her. “I understand the pressure you feel. It was not right that you were not given a choice. But it was no mistake,” she stated. You turned your head to look at her. “You are one of the strongest women I have ever met. You are strong willed and capable of handling the most stressful events. You take responsibility seriously but still know how to have fun. You are capable of turning what you see as a curse into something great. Something useful.”
You both went back into an easy silence as you thought over what Diana had said. You stand as the sky begins to darken and Diana does the same. “I want to be a part of the battle plans you were talking about. I refuse to be sidelined. I could help.”
3 Weeks Later
Slowly your sisters started to act normally around you again. After Zeus had bound to you, your sisters walked on eggshells around you. You finally felt normal again when Darkseid’s forces made their appearance. You stood from your perch on the palace steps and watched as the parademons descended. You turned to your communicator and waited for Diana’s face to pop up. “Parademons in Themyscira. I hope you are ready for battle,” you stated before looking back at your communicator.
“Diana is already on her way. We will be following shortly,” Batman affirmed.
“We will hold them off until then,” you replied.
The battle cry went up and you started the battle of your lives. You had never seen a creature like them before. They were able to manipulate energy, take over a person’s body and create a new parademon, fly, adapt to their environment, breathe fire, and self destruct. You watched many of your sisters fall to the army before Diana was in front of you, letting you know she and the cavalry were here.
More parademons kept flying in. There was no end to them. Cuts and bruises littered your body as you finished off yet another group of parademons. “Now, (Y/N),” Diana called.
Are we obliterating all of the parademons at once now?
“Yes,” you replied as the electricity circled your body and flowed through it. Your eyes turned a bright blue as the energy built up. You paid no mind to the parademons around you as the energy kept them away. “For Themyscira,” you shouted as the energy was released.
Your feet touched the ground as you looked around at the warriors slowly getting up. That seemed too easy, Zeus sighed.
“It did,” you responded. At Diana and Batman’s confused glances you relayed Zeus’ thoughts.
“That’s because it’s not over yet,” Superman pointed to the portal in the sky as more parademons came out along with their creator, Darkseid.
“What does he want,” you asked.
“Total world domination, to make everyone a slave and reshape the universe,” Flash stated.
“I do not think that wise,” you responded. “This is going past what we have planned for.”
“Improvise,” Nightwing shrugged.
“Yes, because all great battles are won with improvisation, Bird,” you rolled your eyes as you felt Zeus pulling the energy from the air to make the lightning. “I have a god on my side, I will take Darkseid,” you sighed.
Before you could fly off, Batman grabbed your wrist. “He is stronger than anyone you have ever fought. It would be suicide to go against him alone,” he growled.
You smirked slightly, “I am just improvising as your colleague suggested.” You released your arm from his hold and shot towards Darkseid, bypassing most of the parademons. You pushed yourself faster and willed the electricity to build up in your hands that were pointed in front of you. You were hoping that your momentum and the electricity that would be released upon impact would at least knock the giant down for a minute.
You avoided his arms and hands and made contact with his chest, center mass. As you had hoped, he did fall but he almost immediately got back up and threw you into the ground. “I must admit, you took me by surprise.” You moved out of the way as an energy blast came towards you.
“What do you want,” you asked. You hovered in front of his face, arms crossed.
“To enslave your people and use them in my plans to rule the universe. You also have an artifact that would ensure I take the planet easily with minimal loss to myself.”
“Do you tell all your enemies your plans?”
“Only because I know you will never be able to stop me.”
“I think you underestimate us,” you replied with a bored tone. “We will take you down.” You moved out of the way as Superman hit Darkseid center mass, sending him flying.
“Nice distraction tactic,” he stated as he floated next to you.
“I improvised,” you responded, sending lightning raining on Darkseid who just stood up as if nothing was attacking him. “Though I am not liking the looks of this. I have to find the artifact he wants before he does.”
Before Superman could reply, you’d flown off in search of your Mother. You found her with Diana and a couple other Leaguers, fighting off Parademons. You used Zeus’ lightning to give them all breathing room as you landed. “He is looking for an artifact that will ensure he takes the planet easily. Mother, do you know where it is.”
“There is no way he could obtain it,” she responded.
You clench your fist and jaw. “Even with a god on my side, Darkseid seems impossible to beat. I have no doubt he will find what he is looking for. If I could get it before he does-”
“If you bring it out, he will retrieve it,” she cut you off. “He will not get it where it is now.”
You let your anger out on the parademons that had approached again, keeping up an electrical barrier as you talked with your mother. “You will tell me where it is and I will retrieve it. I would feel better if it was protected by us instead of off somewhere with no protection. He is already scouring the island for it.” As she started to shake her head, you growled. You grabbed the front of her dress, bringing her closer to you. “I do not have time for your games, Mother. I had no choice in binding with a god but I will choose to protect the artifact with my life so that Darkseid may not use it against us. He wants to enslave our people for his own gain. With the artifact, it will make it easier for him. Tell me where it is.”
“I agree with (Y/N). I could run her to it,” Flash stated.
“It would be better protected with her and Zeus, Mother,” Diana added.
“It is in the cave. Zeus will know the artifact in which you seek,” your mother finally sighed out. She told Flash where the cave was located and he picked you up.
“We’ll be back in a flash,” he stated before rushing off with you.
As he walked into the cave, he set you down. “Watch the entrance,” you called over your shoulder. “Zeus, where is it?”
I am trying to locate it. Walk further in. You did as you were told. Should be just up ahead. Yes, there it is. The ring and the lightning bolt. Those are what you need. I would also spring for Fragarach sword, no armor should be able to withstand it. We could use it on Darkseid.
You grabbed the sword and sheathed it. As you picked up the lightning bolt, you jumped as it absorbed into your body, making a tattoo on the inside of your right arm. It is my lightning bolt. I thought it had long since been destroyed after Hercules ‘borrowed’ it. It will intensify our lightning and attacks.
You nodded at the information before slipping the ring on your finger. This will help me to grow stronger. The ring and lightning bolt both hold parts of myself. The stronger I get, the easier it will be to defeat our enemies.
“Should I be worried about you taking over my mind,” you asked.
No, I have already told you that I would not make you do anything you did not want to.
“(Y/N), we need to get out of here,” Flash called. You arrived back at the mouth of the cave and he picked you up to run you back to the others.
He placed you down between your mother and Diana. “You could have told me he wanted Zeus’ power. Probably would have been good to know,” you shouted over the battle.
“We will have a long talk about subordination when this battle is finished.” You unsheathed your new sword and cut through all of the parademons easily. “You took more than you should have.”
“It was Zeus’ idea,” you replied as you finished off the wave of parademons before sheathing the sword again. “He is quite happy to be growing stronger.” She took your right arm in her hand, running her fingers over the lightning bolt as the heroes and warriors began to gather to prepare for the next assault. You jerked your arm from her hold, “is this not what you wanted? For me to embrace the god so that your people could continue to exist? The relics help me to embrace. Now I guess I am just a weapon at your disposal,” you sneered.
You used your anger to wipe out the next wave of parademons. With a wave of your hand, lightning struck them all down. “Could you have this conversation after we defeat Darkseid? I think he’s noticed your upgrade in power,” Red Robin called.
“(Y/N), Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Superboy, take Darkseid down hard. The rest of us will deal with the remaining parademons and then join you,” Batman ordered.
You unsheathed your sword and looked at the heroes around you. “I say we do this hard and fast. Superman and Superboy aim for his shoulders, Diana and GL aim for his legs, I’ll take center mass.” As they nodded in agreement, you all rushed forth. You avoided the parademons as you approached Darkseid. You all also had to avoid his energy beams which proved to be slightly harder. You clench your jaw as the beam grazed your arm.
You all hit at the same time, bringing Darkseid to the ground. “I suggest letting go unless you want to be electrocuted,” you called out, charging your sword with lightning and quickly bringing it down onto Darkseid’s armor. It barely cut into his armor, but it had the desired effect. “Zeus, now would be a good time for that war ending lightning you have boasted about.”
I will try.
With you as a conduit, the lightning flowed through you, into the sword and spread rapidly across Darkseid. He jolted with the energy and you kept it up as long as you could before you started to feel weak. You jerked your sword from his chest and flew back, stumbling as you hit the ground. Diana was there to catch you.
The other superheroes approached and watched Darkseid to see if he had been finished. The parademons had stopped their attack and swarmed their master. Slowly, Darkseid began to get up. “There’s no way,” Kid Flash muttered.
“With the amount of lightning that pulsed through his body for that long, he should be dead,” Superman whispered.
“I do not understand,” you added.
Darkseid laughed. “I, indeed, underestimated you child. You were even able to pierce my armor, none have ever been able to do that. Do not take my retreat as defeat. I will be back.” Then he was gone.
You sheathed your sword and ran a hand down your face. “He is indestructible,” you sighed.
“No, you were able to crack his armor and he looked like that electricity you sent through his body hurt him. You just have to do that again,” Nightwing’s perky attitude was beginning to grind on your nerves.
“Yes, I will just take him on by myself, eventually get my sword to cut away at his armor slowly all the while maintaining an electrical charge like that. Simple,” you growled.
Even at full power I can not manage that, Zeus informed the group.
“Why do your Kryptonians not find a way to stop Darkseid instead of leaving the whole thing to me,” you snapped. “I am not a thing to be used at your convenience.”
“We aren’t saying you are, (Y/N). He did not mean it that way. So far none of our attacks have worked. Superman hasn’t been able to crack his armor, but you did. If you could put more openings in his armor, maybe Superman and the other’s attacks will have an effect and we can help you to take him down,” Batman placed a hand on your shoulder, squeezing it slightly. “I would not expect you to take him on by yourself.”
9 Months Later
“Thunderer, B-30,” the zeta tube announced as you stepped into Mount Justice. You had been asked to join the team by Robin, who you had learned had been Batman during the battle at Themyscira, eight months ago. Needing a change of scene, you had agreed and you didn’t regret it. “Wonder Woman 03, Batman 02, Black Canary 13.”
You approached your team members and gave them a small smile. I wonder if they will let us out of here today. I would appreciate time to stretch my abilities. It has been months since we have.
“Shut up,” you mumbled to the god. Robin side eyed you and you shook your head.
I am going crazy not being allowed to use my abilities. We can not use them on the others in case we were to go overboard. We can not use them on regular villains in case we kill them. I am getting tired of their rules. You rubbed your head as you felt a headache start to grow. We should go out and do a solo, spread our wings mission. It would be fun. We could even look for Darkseid. We have not seen him in months. You know-
“I am trying to listen to the briefing. Will you shut your trap,” you growled, pausing as everyone turned to you. You could feel your cheeks start to turn red. “I am sorry for the interruption. Continue.”
It was futile to try and listen to the briefing as Zeus kept talking to you. It caught you off guard when suddenly everyone was looking at you again. You had no idea what had been said. We can do that. We would be happy to, Zeus responded for you. You saw some of the members of the team flinch back at his voice. They still weren’t use to his responses.
As the team dismissed, you followed Robin. As quietly as possible, you asked him about the mission. “Rob, I-uh. He would not shut up throughout the briefing, can you give me the overview?”
Rob motioned for you to follow him as he got ready for the mission. “We will be doing recon on the Venom drug warehouse. Cobra is said to make an appearance. We need to tag his vehicle to track him to his next stop where we will get more intel on what he and the other kingpins are planning. If things go sideways, you are our cover fire to get those of us at the warehouse out. You will not engage unless provoked or the team is in unknown danger. If things go smoothly, you should not be needed as cover fire. Batman made it clear that he does not want us to engage unless absolutely necessary.”
You mean we can not even fire just one lightning bolt if we are not provoked, Zeus’ voice was quickly getting on your nerves.
“No, if they do not need it, we will not fire a lightning bolt. Calm down, you can let loose later on a training dummy,” you growled.
“Tough day with your brain mate,” Robin asked.
“Every day is a tough day with him. He has not been allowed to completely let loose since Darkseid attacked Themyscira. He is getting, as you say, antsy. Therefore, I get the headache while he complains all day. I am just really tired of it, Damian,” you sigh.
You had known Damian’s secret identity since he had asked you to join the team. He stopped in his preparations and rested a hand on your shoulder, squeezing it gently. “You can do this. You can get through this and you can put up barriers. You’re getting better at ignoring him. I have no doubt you’ll eventually be able to control the communication lines between you two.”
“At this point, I would rather lock him in a box and lose the key. As he has grown stronger, so has his thoughts, wants, and needs. It is like living with a toddler, as I am told.”
“Do you think you’ll be able to focus enough tonight with him in your head?”
“He does not listen to me. I tell him to keep quiet so I can focus, but he never stops. I will be fine tonight. I will pay extra close attention to the warehouse. Zeus should calm down with the prospect of possibly using his powers if things go wrong.”
You watched as he packed more weapons into extra bags. “Is there a reason that only the bats and I are on the team tonight? Should we not have Superboy in case they use the Venom drug?”
He chuckled as he finished packing the bags. “We are the best at recon and staying hidden. With the amount of pressure on the information we need, we thought it best to use just ‘the bats’ as you so graciously called us. And if they use the venom drug, you’re our heavy hitter.”
3 Hours Later
You crouched in the overgrowth surrounding the warehouse. You were about fifteen feet from the main entrance. The others (Tim, Dick, Jason, Damian, and Barbara) were surrounding the warehouse, still in the trees. “What can you tell is going on in there, Thunder,” Dick whispered through the com.
You tuned your hearing in. You heard what you assumed to be shipments, being moved around. Breathing, clattering of a clipboard. Tapping. “-sure thing. It is all ready to go when you get here. Three minutes? Yes, Mr. Cobra.”
You dialed back your hearing and responded. “Lots of product being shifted around. Machines whirling. At least a dozen people on the inside. Cobra should be arriving in three minutes according to the phone call I listened in on.”
“Hood, Red, and Bat Girl move in. Robin, wait until Cobra is inside the building and put a tracker on the car. Once the tacker is in place, join us on the inside. Thunderer, watch our backs.”
“Affirmative, Nightwing.” You responded. Why do we not just take them all out in one place? It will get rid of the drug and the one selling it. As your hand started to turn blue your breath picked up. “That’s not the plan Z, leave it alone,” you hissed.
“Do we have a problem,” Nightwing asked quietly.
“No,” you responded quickly as Cobra’s vehicle pulled up. “Cobra is here.”

Transference (C.L.)
Prompt: There was not one. I’m going with the flow. Y’all, I just found this on my computer and I had totally forgotten that I had written it. This is from 2017....and it’s not too bad if I say so myself...I mean, I hate everything I write, but I don’t fully hate this one...
Pairing: Chris Lasalle x Reader
Words: 3110
Warnings: Bruising, Cursing, violence
Notes: I couldn’t help myself... Nothing has been changed so any cringy-ness from 2017 is still there.
Getting a transfer from DC to New Orleans hadn’t been too hard. You were appreciative of the Director and everything he had done for you in DC but you wanted something more than monitoring MTAC and stopping Cyber criminals. You wanted to be out in the field and you believed that you couldn’t do that in DC. You believed that you needed a somewhat fresh start and the Director listened and complied with your request.
So, here you were, a letter from the director, your transfer papers in your hand, and your ‘go-bag’ on your back. You were looking at the building that the New Orleans NCIS team worked out of. You walked slowly towards the entrance, showing the guard your papers and letting him lead you the rest of the way to the entrance.
You walked in, NCIS jacket draped over your arm and the cap snugly on your head. You looked around the space in amazement; this office was different than the one in DC. It seemed less formal. “I’m gonna assume you’re Special Agent (Y/L/N),” a man with a kind smile stated as he walked towards you. Behind him you could see a younger man and a slightly older woman--older than the man next to her.
You realized the man in front of you was Agent Pride, “yes Sir. You must be Special Agent Pride. It’s very nice to meet you.” You smiled at the agent and stuck out your hand to shake his. A bemused smile appeared on his face and he shook your hand and took the papers you handed him.
“Leon has told me great things about you. Said you wanted to get a fresh start at bein’ a field agent. Why,” he asked as he lead you to the kitchen.
You watched him carefully before letting out a small sigh, “everyone in HQ knew I was a tech person. I ran MTAC and stopped Cyber criminals, I don’t chase subjects or do physical work. I stay in cyberspace, nothing else.” Your voice held a slightly bitter tone at the end, but you continued, “I knew that no matter what I did, the agents in DC would only see me as a cyber geek. I needed to be able to start over at another branch of NCIS, where I could be a field agent on my own terms, define myself, not be defined by what I was before I became a field agent.”
A smile made its way to Pride’s face as you explained. “Don’t worry ‘bout anythin’ here. Be the agent you want to be.”
“So this is gonna be our new member,” a deep southern accent sounded behind you.
“Chris Lasalle, Tammy Gregorio, meet (Y/N) (Y/L/N), newest addition to the team.”
“LSU or ‘Bama,” Lasalle asked.
You raised an eyebrow and smirked as Gregorio rolled her eyes. You walked back towards the desk area. “Give me a good reason to answer your question.”
“Why do I needa reason ta ask ya a question?”
“Why do I have to answer your question?”
“I’m just askin’ a question.”
“I’m just asking for a reason.”
“Why don’t ya answer the question?”
“Why don’t you give me a reason?”
“I just wanta know.”
“Not a good reason.”
“Wanta know if ya like football.”
“I do like football,” you smirked. You snickered at his scrunched up face.
“‘Bama or LSU,” he spoke again.
“What if it’s neither.”
“Would ya just answer the damn question?!”
“What if I don’t want to answer ‘the damn question’,” you tried your best to imitate the man’s accent. Before he could reply, you walked towards him and patted him on the chest, “‘Bama. It’s always gonna be ‘Bama. Roll Tide.”
You took the empty desk and started to unpack a couple of things onto your desk. You placed them where you felt was right and put your gun and badge in a drawer, looking around for a key to lock it. One dangled in front of your face and you looked up to see Chris smiling wide, holding it out to you. “I think me an’ you are gonna be great friends,” you laughed with him and took the key he handed you.
8 Months Later
“I GOTTA RUNNER,” Chris shouted, “COMIN’ YOUR WAY (Y/N)!”
Before you could react, you were pushed roughly into a wall. You let out an involuntary groan when your shoulder checked the wall. You pushed yourself up and sprinted after the man. “I’m on his trail,” you stated in the com.
You were gaining on the man, gun in its holster so you didn’t have to worry about it discharging accidentally while you ran. You were a couple feet away from him when he turned and kicked you square in the chest, pushing you backwards, making the air leave your lungs. You coughed, trying to get air back into your lungs while the perp ran down an alleyway.
You pushed up after him, still gasping for breath. You paid it no mind as you slowly started to catch up with him. Seeing as he was heading for a more populated road, you thought of a short cut to cut him off. You turned down that way and pushed yourself faster. Just as you reached the mouth of the alley, you saw the perp and jumped, tackling the man.
As you both rolled, you prepared to wrestle the man into the cuffs. The second that you stopped rolling you roughly tried to push the man on his back. He retaliated, punching you. As you stumbled slightly, he tried to get back up and run, but you grabbed his arm, slapping a cuff on his right wrist and jerking him backwards, making him lose balance. You, then, grabbed his left arm while he was off balance and cuffed it. You held the bound man tightly as he struggled to get free, “you don’t stop, I’m going to consider knocking you out,” you stated.
Pounding footsteps halted as they neared you. You heard a low whistle and slightly out of breath laughs. “Never knew you were that fast, kid,” Pride stated. You let out a quiet laugh and let Pride take the perp from your grasp.
Chris’s smile dropped as he took a look at you. The perp had been blocking you from view. Your smile slowly dropped as you looked at Chris. He came closer to you and took your chin between his fingers, turning your head to look at the right side of your face, “he hit you?”
“Nothing I couldn’t handle,” you stated and removed his fingers from your face. You bent down to pick up your cap with your left arm and hissed quietly at the pain that traveled through your shoulder.
“King, I think we should ask Loretta to check (Y/N) out, seems she got hurt strugglin’ with the perp,” Chris stated.
King had just finished putting the perp in the car and turned around. He frowned slightly. “Alright, Chris, take her to Loretta. Check on the evidence while you’re there.”
It was silent as you both drove towards the morgue. Usually it was never this quiet between you and your partner, but he didn’t make any attempt to speak. You stayed silent for a couple more minutes before sighing and turning to Chris, “alright, talk. Why aren’t you talking to me?”
Chris glanced over at you before shaking his head. He huffed before looking over at you one more time, “nothin’ you couldn’t handle? Really (Y/N)?”
“That’s what this is about? Come on Chris, grow up! I feel fine!”
“That why you hissed in pain pickin’ up your cap? Or why I could see you grinding your teeth in pain and holding your side when you climbed in the truck?”
You arrived at the morgue and you rolled your eyes in response to his questions. You opened the door of the truck and got out, Chris following suit as he caught up to you, “don’t walk away now! You wanted me to talk, I have. What I don’t understand is why you’re tryin’ ta act like you’re not in pain when you clearly are!”
You whirled on him and glared. “I feel fine. And don’t act like this is something new when you did the same exact thing four months ago when you were almost shot and ended up getting the breath knocked out of you. His boot left a bruise on your chest for two weeks, Chris. Don’t be a hypocrite!”
You opened the door and rushed in, wanting to get to Loretta before having to talk with Chris again. He kept up with you and you both were going back and forth, frustration building. “Am I interrupting something? Dwayne called, telling me you both would be coming in.”
“No, Loretta. Chris was just going to go check on the evidence Sebastian was processing,” you stated and brushed past Loretta and into the autopsy room.
Loretta raised an eyebrow at Chris who scoffed and went to Sebastian’s lab. Loretta shook her head and went back into her autopsy room and closed the door. She had drawn the blinds shut. “Alright Darlin’, I need you to take your vest and shirt off so I can check your ribs and shoulder.”
A grimace flickered on your face, but you didn’t let Loretta comment on it as you started to take your vest off. Your eyes squinted in the pain it caused you to take the vest off. You laid it on the autopsy table behind you. You paused. You knew with how you were feeling, you were going to have bruises. Your vest had not been able to protect you from the brunt of the impact when the man had kicked you. You sighed quietly and started to pull your shirt off. Your muscles tensed as they protested at the movement. You couldn’t help the sharp intake of breath as you raised your arms with your shirt. Finally, you got it off and placed it with your vest. “Oh dear,” Loretta muttered.
You looked down to your abdomen and winced. It was a deep purple as was your shoulder. “It doesn’t hurt that bad, Loretta,” you stated.
She glared at you and you took a small step backwards. “Don’t be lyin’ to me. You do, I can put you on mandatory leave until you’re completely healed.”
You nodded and sighed as she came over and started her examination.
1 Hour Later
Chris and you have been going back and forth arguing since you had left the morgue. The second you were back at HQ, you jumped out of the truck, wincing as your sore body protested. As Loretta had finished up her examination, Chris had walked in, seeing the bruises covering your body and he’d cut himself off from what he had been saying, just staring at your bruises. You had hurriedly put your shirt back on. He hadn’t said a word until you got in the car.
Chris again matched you and you both quietly bickered and entered the building. Your frustration was building and you were pretty sure your face was coloring darker shades of red as the argument went on. You didn’t even greet Gregorio nor Pride as you went to your desk. Chris followed after you and stood in front of the desk, “you shouldn’t have tried to even hide it! Those bruises are bad! What the hell were you thinkin’?! You should be at home-”
You snapped, “I FEEL FINE! I’ve told you that a thousand times and you continue to hassle me about it! I’m tired of your hypocrisy! WHY THE HELL DO YOU EVEN CARE SO MUCH?!”
“BECAUSE YOU’RE MY PARTNER AND I DON’T LIKE SEEIN’ YOU HURT!”
“Would you do this to King? Gregorio?”
“Don’t.”
“Don’t what? Call you out on your biased opinions? Hypocrisy ring a bell?”
You were standing in front of him by now, only inches away from completely touching him. “Don’t,” his tone was much darker as he glared down at you.
“I have a damned right to know why the hell you care so much more about me that you have to argue with me nonstop about a couple of bruises that’ll heal up in a week or so. It’s not like I’m lucky to be alive like when that gun jammed when the punk shot at-”
“Dammit (Y/N)! I’m in love with you and I don’t want to ever see you hurt!”
You took a couple of steps back, looking at Chris, your jaw dropped. You tried to form words but none came. Chris growled out something you didn’t catch and walked away. You reached out to him, but didn’t move.
You slowly started coming back to animation. You grabbed the keys to your car from your desk, avoiding King’s and Gregorio’s gazes as you left the building.
3 Weeks Later
You had called Pride the morning after yours and Chris’s blow out and mentioned you’d be taking a couple of weeks to fully heal. Without prompting, he told you of how Lasalle was by text every day, and though you didn’t want to think about the man, you couldn’t stop thinking about him.
You knew you had feelings for him, you’d been hiding them for months...you just never knew he felt the same way, and it scared you.
Today, you were coming back to work, you couldn’t hide behind your completely healed injuries now...and you needed to talk to Chris.
You walked through the gate, nodding at the guard as you went and paused outside the entrance, hearing Gregorio and Pride talking. You entered and took a deep breath. You walked over to your desk and set down your bag, staying quiet for the moment. “C’mon King, you got nothin’ to say ‘bout the woman walkin’ down the stairs this mornin’?”
Your heart sped up at the sound of his voice and a smile presented itself on your face. You walked to the kitchen, leaning in the entrance, smiling as you saw the breakfast being handed out. “You’ve got impeccable timin’, (Y/N),” Pride stated as he fixed another plate of whatever he’d made for breakfast.
“Oh, you know me...always there for the food.”
The occupants in the kitchen chuckled at that. You sat down at the table across from Chris who would look at you, then look away. Things use to never be this awkward between you two...you wanted to tell him that you felt the same, but that meant that you were making the feelings real.
Pride’s phone beeped and he got it out of his pocket, sighing and setting down his napkin, “dead sailor at the docs. Loretta’s already there.”
2 days Later
You held the ice pack to your head, wincing as the cold met your aching head. “What happened,” Pride demanded.
“He came out of nowhere, knocked me down with a blow to the head. Don’t know exactly how much time passed before I could see straight again, but I saw Chris go down...looked like the guy was about to finish him off, tackled him, we fought over his knife...in redirecting the knife from myself, I stabbed him.” Not to mention the guy had gotten in a few good hits on you, not that you were admitting to that.
“Alright, go to the hospital, get checked out. Check on Chris and let us know.”
You nodded and let the paramedics take you in the ambulance.
You fought with the doctors, not wanting to get admitted. They agreed on the terms that you rest, no strenuous activities for the foreseeable future. That’s how you found yourself in Chris Lasalle’s hospital room, curled up on a semi-comfortable chair next to his bed, holding his hand like a lifeline.
You’d called Pride when you were escorted to Chris’s room and gave him all the info he needed. Pride had told you that he and Gregorio would be over as soon as they finished the case. You watched Chris’s chest as it rose and fell. It was the one thing grounding you, telling you that he was alive...when you’d become aware in the warehouse, it didn’t seem possible that your partner would be alive as he went down.
Quiet voices reached your ears as you slowly woke up. “-er go down. I was makin’ my way to her when he jumped on me. We fought for a while, got in a few good licks, but he knocked me out with whatever weapon he was usin’...she okay? She hasn’t moved in three hours.”
“I think she’s just exhausted. Stayed with ya all night while Gregorio and I closed the case. Been aweful worried ‘bout ya. Heard that she wouldn’t accept medical treatment unless she was free to stay in your room afterwards.”
There were quiet chuckles before Chris responded, “idiot. I oughda kick her ass fer that.”
“Don’t think you gonna be kicking any ass anytime soon,” you yawned, sitting up and smiling slightly. “You ever do something like this again, I’ll murder you myself.”
“I’ll let you two talk.”
You and Chris stared at each other for a while. You realized that his hand was still in yours and gave it a comforting squeeze, “when I saw you go down, I don’t know how long it had been since he hit me and I thought that you weren’t breathing. And I was terrified that when I was able to go check on you that you wouldn’t be breathing. Don’t ever do that to me again,” you whispered.
Chris squeezed your hand, licking his lips. “I watched you crumble to the ground, didn’t know if he’d knocked you out or killed ya. Thought I would never get ta talk to ya again, or hug ya, or…” he trailed off, looking into your eyes.
“I’m fine,” you whispered.
He chuckled and shook his head, “got the report from Loretta. Multiple lacerations, mild concussion, bruised ribs...anything but fine.”
“So I’m fabulous is what I hear you saying.”
Chris laughed again, “I will agree you’re fabulous, but not with your injuries.”
“That hurts, Lasalle. It really does.”
“Only spoutin’ the truth.”
You stood up, leaning over him, hands still intertwined.
“Thought your Mama taught you to be nice to women.”
“Only ones that are nice to me first.”
“Oh, so you’re saying that I’m not nice.”
“‘Course not. I’m sayin’ you’re intense.”
“Intense,” you snorted.
Chris raised his free hand to your face, bringing you closer to him, “yeah...but I love that ‘bout ya.”

Princess of Themyscira (D.W.) Pt 2
Prompt: Continuation of Princess of Themyscira
Pairing: Older!Damian Wayne x Amazonian!Reader, Diana Prince x Sister!reader
Words: 5887
Warnings: Cursing (probably), Violence, bruised and beaten reader
Notes: This is probably going to be a mini series. More to come soon.
Part 1 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
From your perch your perch, you were at least eight feet above the main entrance of the warehouse. You had never seen this Cobra character before. He looked around as he got out and you momentarily stopped breathing as his eyes seemed to stare directly at you even though there was no way for him to see you with the thick foliage in front of you. You tuned in your hearing as he turned to a couple of his men. “Stay with the car, I have a feeling.”
He entered the warehouse and you silently cursed as four of the men surrounded the car, looking in every direction. “Men stationed at the car, all sides covered,” you stated quietly into the com.
“We need to get the tracker on the car,” Nightwing sighed. “We need a distraction.”
We can provide the distraction and take care of the four guys in the process, Zeus’ voice was excited. “Absolutely not. We will distract but not engage, Z.” How do you plan to do that? “Simple, we are going to draw them to the glowing blue light.” You tapped into Zeus’ powers and turned the glow on and off like a flashlight. When you were sure you had two of the men’s attentions, you let the light shine longer as you moved away from the spot you were previously in. You smirked as they followed after a few brief words to their colleagues.
“Nice work. Robin, place the tracker. Thunderer, slowly dim the light and get out of sight.”
You did as you were told and decided to hide in the branches of a tree as you watched the two men become quickly confused. You let out a soft sigh as they turned to go back to the car they had been stationed at. “Nice trick,” startled, you lost your footing. You hovered above the ground before placing your feet firmly on it. “It’s a shame I won’t get to study you. I need to make sure this whole process is as smooth as possible.”
“Cobra. I watched you walk into the warehouse, you did not exit,” you responded, feeling Zeus’ energy coiling in you.
“I am on the way,” Damian’s voice in your ear was of some comfort to you.
You had been backing away from Cobra, but felt something hard block your path. “Now you can see what my drug does to those who want it,” he said it so casually that it took you a second to realize that what you hit was not a tree.
May I now unleash my abilities?
“The fact that I am being tossed around like a rag doll gives you permission to use your abilities,” you snapped back. The air around you crackled as it became electrified. You aimed your strike at the mountain of a beast charging for you. The blast sent the beast flying through the air and you focused on Cobra who easily dodged your attacks.
“Very peculiar,” he commented before striking. Your footing shot, you tumbled down the hill. It took a second to gather your bearings and you only had seconds to move as the beast from earlier crashed onto the ground where you had landed.
“Do we have a backup plan, ‘Wing,” you asked under your breath, “because I am now out in the open.”
“We’ll round up who we can. Cobra won’t be going to his secondary location after this. Hood, Red, Bat Girl, take the inside of the facility. Robin, help Thunderer. As soon as I gather the information off of the servers, I’ll join the fight outside.” You dodged another attack and rolled your eyes as the men from the car joined in on the fight. You would easily be able to knock them out.
You saw the syringe in Cobra’s hand, mentally making the connection that it was the drug he gave the beast you were fighting. You didn’t think you’d be able to fight the current beast plus another one. You ducked under the beast’s arms and attacked Cobra. He smirked as one of his men closed in. He kicked you back and injected the contents of the syringe into his employee. Damian was working on the other three men and you cursed as the beast swung for him. “Move Rob,” you called as you stood in front of the new beast, using your strength to stop the attack.
Your planted feet dug into the ground, pavement rising as you pushed against the beast. You might want to move. You looked to your left, seeing the other beast charging towards you. “This is going to hurt,” you muttered. You found Damian fighting Cobra and sighed in relief. You tensed as the beast got closer. You gripped harder on the beast in front of you and turned him last second, to take the brunt of the other’s attack. The impact of the hit sent you flying into the car behind you.
Even with the abilities of a god, you weren’t as indestructible as your Amazonian sisters. You were still just as human as you were the day you washed ashore. The metal bit into your skin as you shoved the beasts away from you. You took a second to breathe, glaring at the two beasts as they got up. You jumped on the first one, planting you feet and using your strength to throw him up in the air. You flew above him, feeling the lightning flow through you as you made contact with his chest, sending him into the ground with enough force to leave a large hole in the ground.
You did the same to the second beast with the same results. You took a couple of long breaths as you released the tension in your body. They wouldn’t be able to get up and fight again. No man’s world villain could handle that amount of force. You turned to Cobra, seeing Dick and Damian fighting him. While he was distracted, you took off towards him, air breezing around you. You wind your fist back and put as much force into the punch as possible and sent him careening into his totaled car.
Dick and Damian both rose an eyebrow as you landed on the ground next to them. “He was very annoying,” you explained. Damian cracked a rare smile before walking over to Cobra.
“Remind me not to get on your bad side,” Dick laughed.
“You would have to try very hard to do so.” He walked towards Cobra and Damian as the others exited the warehouse with multiple prisoners.
Heads up.
A curse left your mouth as you were picked up seconds after Zeus’ voice went off in your head. This time, you managed to go through the wall to the warehouse as you were thrown into it. You heard multiple worried voices through the coms and you growled, ignoring your pain as you got up.
You darted out of the warehouse, aiming for center mass as you saw the beast turn towards you. The force of your impact caused both of you to fly in opposite directions. He flew into multiple trees before stopping and you were back at the warehouse wall. As the second beast rose from his hole in the ground, you jumped, bringing your clasped hands down on the top of his head as the lightning flew through your body. “Stay down,” you growled in annoyance. “And next time, if you give me a heads up, Z, give me more than two seconds to react.”
You received no response from Zeus and rolled your eyes. You gathered the two beasts, placing the power cuffs on both of them before turning back to your team. “Next time you deal with the monumental beasts and I will deal with the help.” A couple of chuckles left the bats.
“We’ll take that under advisement,” Barbara smirked.
___________
You winced as you took stock of your injuries. Multiple lacerations, lots of bruising, and the possibility of a few broken ribs. A knock on your door had you scrambling to put your shirt back on. “(Y/N), it’s Damian. Are you alright? You got thrown into a lot of things during the mission.”
You had to smile slightly at his concern. It was no secret that you both had taken a liking to each other. You both held similar views on life and you understood each other better than anyone else. You opened the door and let Damian in. “Only bruising and mild lacerations. Nothing I am not used to.”
You watched Damian look you over, trying to validate your claim. “I would be happy to help you treat any lacerations that you can not reach. I wouldn’t want them to get infected because you couldn’t clean them properly.”
You blushed slightly. There were multiple long cuts on your back from going through the wall of the warehouse that you couldn’t particularly reach. That would also involve taking your shirt off in front of Damian. He would not only see the extent of damage on your body, but your actual body. As if sensing how uncomfortable you were with the suggestion, he continued, “I could turn around and you let me know when you’re ready that way you have time to cover yourself and all I have to see is what you need me to clean and patch up.”
Your eyes met his as you saw red lightly tenting his cheeks as well. You took a breath in, giving him a small smile, “I would be grateful for your help. There are some longer lacerations on my back that I can not reach as well.” You continued to stare into his eyes as you said, “there is bruising as well, but it looks worse than it feels.”
Damian nodded and turned away from you. You carefully removed your shirt after a second of hesitation. You laid it neatly on a chair and paused thinking of the best way to cover yourself. Diana had introduced you to an article of cloth that women in man’s world wore to cover/support their breasts. Your royal attire did not require such an item and you only really wore them when dressed in ‘normal’ clothing. Not that you would even be able to put one on with the damage to your back where the clothing would sit.
You sighed quietly. You had never been this nervous around others. You had never been this nervous around Damian before. In Themyscira, it was not uncommon to see other nude bodies when wading in the water, or after a particularly nasty challenge. You were never nervous around them...but being in man’s world...it was different. He was different.
You finally decided just to lay on the bed, front down. You placed your arms in a way to cover your breasts from the side and took another deep breath. You cleared your throat, “I am-I am ready.”
Damian turned around and was momentarily stunned. Even with bruising and cuts littering your body, you were beautiful. His next thoughts were of how to make Cobra and his henchmen pay for placing the bruises and cuts on your perfect body. His eyes finally landed on your face, recognizing the deep red your cheeks were-he had been staring for a little while at you. He gave you a reassuring smile.
He stepped closer to the bed, eyeing your back. “Are you sure that this looks worse than it feels? I wouldn’t pass judgement on you if you wanted some mild pain killers. You took one hell of a beating.”
You craned your head to look at the young man as he began to wash the blood away from the cuts. “Honestly, I was taught to block it out. The only way to show others that you are worthy of the crown is to not show weakness. Pain is a weakness. Rule with a kind but iron fist. Always meet the eye of those you speak with or are making business deals with. No matter how much it hurts, you push on and lead your people. You show them the respect you expect and punish those that do not repay that respect. I have learned to acknowledge the pain and push it away. I believe the term your people use is ‘out of body, out of mind’.”
A small chuckle left his lips as he turned to your voice, meeting your eyes. “The term is ‘out of sight, out of mind’, but good try.” He turned back to your back as he used peroxide to disinfect your wounds. You tensed slightly as the peroxide burned slightly on the cuts. His hand rubbed soothing circles on your hip as he waited for the peroxide to do its job. “I was raised in a similar way. My grandfather was the ‘great’ Ra’s Al Guhl. He believed that the only way to rule was through an iron fist. Other emotions were weaknesses. I was taught from a very young age how to kill. Any time I showed weak emotions, I was punished. When I first came to live with my father, I couldn’t believe how weak he was. He didn’t beat the criminals senseless or kill them when I thought that was a good punishment. He was firm but kind, and I didn’t understand his ways. Slowly he and my adoptive brothers broke through my shell and taught me that to be a great leader, you have to show compassion. You don’t always have to act tough and hide emotions and injuries from everyone. You’re allowed to feel and that makes the best leaders.”
He was starting to put antibiotic cream on your back when he finished talking. You slowly turned your head back around straight and placed your chin on your hands, thinking about what Damian had told you. “I am sorry your childhood was taken from you in such a way. I did not fully start lessons in being a leader until I was ten. Before then, I was allowed to be a kid, have fun. After that, training took up my life. I was an outsider, and impure female. I was not Amazonian, my parents being from man’s world. As I grew into a young woman, I had more eyes on me than I had ever had. Everyone knew that after Diana left, I would be the heir to the throne. If I made one mistake, everyone would treat me as if I was not worthy of the crown whereas Diana was allowed to make mistakes and she was only ‘learning’.”
You sighed and shook your head as you belt the gauze being placed on your back. “I thought it all mattered. I thought that if I followed the training and did everything perfectly...if I remained serious about my responsibilities and made no mistakes that I would finally be respected and my people would accept me fully as one of them. I thought I would be one of them, no matter if I got hurt easier than they did, no matter if I was slightly weaker than them...if I showed them that none of that mattered, they would finally see me as part of their family, not an impure outsider.”
Another breath as more gauze was placed on your back. “I guess that does not really matter anymore. Look where my loyalty got me. I fully bonded with an ancient Greek god, was lied to my whole life about this powerful being, and am still an outsider with my people. It makes me wonder if I should even attempt to go back.”
Damian was suddenly in your vision, kneeling by the bedside. He hesitated before putting a calloused hand on your cheek. “I think you are an incredibly strong woman. Your loyalty makes you invaluable. Your sense of nobility makes me respect you-makes everyone respect you. The way you carry yourself is admirable and the way you grew up did make you a better person in the long run. We all learn from our experiences in the past. If you want to go back to Themyscira, I believe in your poise and self confidence and I would even offer to join you. If you don’t want to go back, I’ll support that decision as well.”
You leaned slightly into his hand with a smile. He matched it while running his thumb lightly across your skin. “Now, in order to keep the gauze in place, I need to wrap it. That will require you to get into a position that I can wrap around your back and front. I promise to be the perfect gentleman.”
You rolled your eyes as your cheeks burned with another blush. You nodded. “Would it be best if I stood up,” you asked.
“I think it would be best if you just raise yourself onto your hands and knees that way the gauze stays in place, but I can also reach around and wrap the bandages around you.” You complied, feeling Damian revert his gaze to your back. “That looks good. Stay still.”
It was silent as Damian went to work. As you felt him growing nearer to your upper back, you tensed slightly. “If you would like to stand up and reposition, I can hold the last pieces of gauze up until a bandage holds it in place. You would be able to wrap the bandage around your front and hand it back to me that way.”
You nodded and he allowed you room to get off the bed. You stood with your back to him. He began wrapping again, handing it to you. You brought it diagonally across your front going in between your breasts which was more comfortable than the alternative. Soon enough, Damian cut the bandage off and made sure everything was in place before handing your shirt to you. You slipped it on before turning back to him. “Thank you for mummifying me,” you tried to joke.
A smile cracked his lips, matching your own. “It was a pleasure to be of service,” he smirked.
You reached out slightly beforefore pulling back, biting the inside of your cheek before holding your hand out to him. “I ‘owe you one’, as your people say.” Damian seemed to pause before gathering the courage to lightly slap your hand away. He wrapped his arms gently around your body, easily covering your whole body.
Slowly, you wrapped your arms around him. His lips brushed the top of your hair in a kiss before he released you. “I’m glad you’re alright. I was worried with how much you were being tossed around.” He brought a hand to the back of his neck as he looked away from you.
You stepped closer to him. He towered over you, but you didn’t mind as you stood on your tiptoes to place a kiss on his cheek. “Thank you for your help and concern.”
____________
Four Weeks Later
I do not see why you are so against the thought. He is a nice young man. He comes from the blood of great leaders. It would make sense for you, a great leader, to be with another great leader. You have feelings for him, why not act on them? You rolled your eyes as you gravitated to the lounge of the cave. “That is not the way of my people.”
Diana fell in love with a man when she first traveled out to man’s world. He made her happy and gave her more reason to fight for the life of man’s world. It would make sense for you to follow. You sighed as you sat on the couch, not paying attention to any of the occupants of the room. “And when he died, she was devastated. She will outlive most of man’s world as I imagine I will considering you’re inhabiting my mind and body. I will not be devastated like she was.”
You are human. You might live slightly longer than the average human, but you will die all the same. Because of your biology you have the need for deep, meaningful connections. You have the need to reproduce. Damian Wayne is a prime candidate for mating and gaining connections. You ran a hand down your face. “You are a ray of sunshine today, Z. Please stop talking of my biology.”
“Your godly counterpart talking about your biology is what you’re annoyed about? I would feel like just having someone else in my mind would be the most annoying.” Your eyes traveled to the other voice. Conner Kent, the Superboy.
“Everything about Zeus is annoying, but I can not control the fact that he is bonded to me. I can try and control what he likes to converse about, so I can be annoyed at that. You and everyone else in this cave do not have to hear him talking constantly about whatever he finds amusing or wrong or annoying. He tends to constantly have something to say.”
“What’s it like having to share your mind?” Wally was sitting next to you on the couch.
You turned to him, thinking about the question. It wasn’t easy to constantly have a god in your head. It was actually quite difficult. “I do not think that we share the same mind exactly. There are some aspects we share but I believe we have two different minds. We have different beliefs and ideas. I control my actions, he makes suggestions. He is kind of like what you call a roommate. He has his wisdom. He has his ideals and his flaws. I have my knowledge, ideals, and flaws. Sometimes those match up with each other, but most of the time we disagree. Depending on how Zeus feels on the day I wake depends on what he talks about. He gets antsy if he has not used his abilities in a while and tends to continuously try to get me to go out and use our abilities. Today he is talking of my humanity and my ‘basic needs’. Yesterday he talked about the ways of the ancient greeks.” You shrugged with a small smile.
Today I have merely suggested good mates for a proper leader of the Amazonians. I would think that she would be flattered that I thought D- You stood quickly. “That is enough of that.” You couldn’t believe Zeus would try and tell others of his thoughts about your ‘proper mate’.
“The fact that a god is trying to set you up with someone is both horrifying and hilarious,” a light shade of pink dusted your cheeks as Damian entered.
“He is trying to meddle with something that is none of his business, nor is it of my people’s ways. If he has yet to notice, Themyscira is a tribe of all women and no men.” Your lightning bolt on your arm flashed a bright blue as if Zeus was disagreeing with you non verbally. “Wait, are you giving me the silent treatment Z?” You received no response. “You actually are,” you exclaimed with a laugh.
“TT, sounds like your housemate is being childish,” Damian smirked.
“I’ll take it,” you grinned.
______________
Two Months Later
“Alright. You are still getting use to the world so I have arranged for you to stay with Damian at Wayne Manor. I promise to not be long. Mother informed me that the information was important to Darkseid. I will be taking Bruce and Clark with me. Do not get into trouble in Gotham,” Diana stated as she grabbed her bag.
“You have told me multiple times, Sister. I will be fine.”
She went on as if she hadn’t heard you. “Damian and Bruce will be here in ten minutes. Bruce will come inside and your will join Damian in the car to go back to Wayne Manor. I will pick you up from there when I get back.”
You set a hand on her shoulder, stopping her and having her face you. “We have been over this at least ten times since you got the message from Mother. I will be fine. Damian and I will do our best to stay out of trouble. We know how to contact backup if something were to go wrong. If I am not mistaken, Bruce will probably have the other bats check on Damian and I while he is gone.”
Diana smiled at you, giving you a short hug. “I know, (Y/N), but I still worry about you. I am your older sister.” She walked towards the door as a knock sounded. “If we are not back in two days, or you have not heard from us in two days, gather the league and the young justice teams and investigate.”
As the door opened, you grabbed your bag, turning to see Bruce and Clark enter the apartment. “Do you think Darkseid will attack while you are on Themyscira? Would that be why you would not be back in two days?” You saw her tense and immediately you tensed. “I should come with you. I have cracked his armor. I can do it again.” The thought that your sister could end up walking into a trap without you made your skin crawl. She was your sister, you would never let her go into battle alone.
This time, she put her hand on your arm, making you focus on her. “I will be as safe as possible. There is only a slim possibility of Darkseid attacking. I will keep you updated, but I want you here in case you are needed. The League is down two heavy hitting members and a Bat, they will need your help in case there is an attack while we are gone.”
You glanced away from her, mouth firm. “I do not support your decision, but I respect it. I will protect your world and friends with my life.”
“From you, I would expect nothing less.” She pressed a kiss to your forehead. “Now, I believe Damian is waiting in the car for you. You should not keep him waiting.”
You nodded, walking towards the door. You stopped in front of Bruce and Clark. “If anything happens to Diana while you are away, I will kill you. Do not take this threat lightly.”
“We’ll do our best to make sure nothing happens,” Clark responded. You nodded again, walking out the door without a second glance.
_____________
You and Damian entered the manor, Damian carting your bag. He showed you to your room. “Since this is your first time here, I know it can be easy to get lost. I’ll be glad to show you to any room in the manor you like. Todd and Grayson should be coming over for dinner tonight before they go on patrol. Drake will be up for dinner then return to the cave to monitor everyone’s patrol. If you would like to go out on patrol with me tonight, I’d be glad to show you Gotham from a vigilante’s perspective.”
“I would like that,” you smiled, following Damian from the guest room and to the living room. He ushered you to the couch, sitting with you.
“Pennyworth will let us know when dinner is ready. We could watch television or whatever you’d like until dinner is ready.” Damian nervously tapped his fingers on his knee.
You smiled, looking down to your lap before looking back up at the man who had stolen your heart. “I would be content with conversation. I still do not understand the television and its weird shows.” Damian laughed at the face you pulled thinking of the shows on TV.
“We could do that. What would you like to talk about?”
You thought for a minute before turning to him slightly, tucking your feet under you to get a better angle. You lean your head on your hand and looked directly at Damian. “Why do you call everyone by their surname but me?”
Damian mimicked your position and placed his chin on the hand holding his head. “When I first got to Gotham to live with my father, I was not the most...pleasant person. I had a hatred for anything or anyone that I saw as weak. I saw Grayson, Todd, and Drake as weak. I guess, in a way, calling my brothers by their last names was a way to distance myself from those that I deemed weak. Looking back on it now, it could have been that I was distancing myself from them because I was afraid of getting attached to them. It kind of became second nature to call others by their last name after that.”
He smiled at you as he continued. “As for you, I met you and made a connection almost immediately. I didn’t even know your name yet when you walked onto the plane. I could tell you were uncomfortable once you separated from Diana, but you held yourself with such grace and power that it overpowered how uncomfortable you were. When I finally learned your name, you didn’t give me a last name. ‘Princess (Y/N) of Themyscira’. You adopted Diana’s last name once you left Themyscira but I only see you as (Y/N).”
A light pink dusted your cheeks as Damian’s words sunk in. You realized as you looked at him, that his cheeks were also a pinkish color. “I appreciate that you call me by (Y/N), it would feel weird to be called ‘Prince’ all the time. When I saw you and the others when Diana came back, I was nervous. That was the first time I had ever met others from man’s world. I knew Diana would not bring anyone that would hurt me or others but I could not deny the teachings I had been given since I could talk. But there was something with you that I could not help but feel at ease. You are the reason I believed in getting out of Themyscira. I knew you would help me adjust to man’s world.”
“Do you ever regret leaving?”
You chuckled quietly while shaking your head. “I had been wanting to track down Diana months before I knew of Diana coming back to Themyscira. It does help that I was curious about my parents. I wanted to track down information about them and be able to imagine what life with them would have been like. What kept me there was my blind loyalty to Mother. After learning of her deception and realizing that there was much I needed to learn, it made it easier to leave. At this point, I do not think I even want to go back. What is the point when you will never be treated as an equal?”
“But you can’t hide from it. No one will treat you as an equal if you hide away and don’t try. You were respected by many when I was there the first time. You had this natural charisma that wormed its way into the hearts of your sisters on Themyscira. Sure, you’re not pure Amazonian but that doesn’t mean that you don’t have their best interests at heart. Your mother wouldn’t have trained you to the extent she did if she didn’t have faith that you would be the next great leader.” You smiled slightly at his words. He had a point. You couldn’t earn respect if you didn’t try.
“Do you ever want to return to the League of Assassins?”
Damian winced at the mention of the League. “Not really. Sometimes I wish to return only to disband the League and try to fix what they’ve broken. It sounds stupid really, it’s not like I can erase all the blood that’s been shed by them or erase everything my grandfather has done in the name of the League. The League of Assassins are heartless. I don’t want to be a part of that. I quite like having a heart to be honest.”
You nodded. “While I understand your sentiment, you can not change the ways of the League if you do not return. If you do not like the ways of the League and you are an heir to the League, you can change their ways. I would gladly help you in your endeavor.”
You nearly jumped out of your skin as another voice broke into the conversation. “Why are you trying to convince Demon Spawn to return to Nanda Parbat?”
Both you and Damian turned to the new company. “I am simply stating that if he were to want to make the League of Assassins a force of good, he would have to go back. There is no way to control the League if you are not at its headquarters. It is much like Themyscira. If I am to rule Themyscira, I must be in Themyscira.”
Dick and Jason sat on a couch adjacent to the both of you. “Are you returning to Themyscira?”
“Only if Diana does not return in two days, Richard. And what is a ‘Demon Spawn’ and why is Damian one? Is there a demon inhabiting Damian? I could expel it.”
Damian was quick to place a hand on your arm, grabbing your attention. “There is no demon living in my body. You don’t need to try and expel anything.”
You were pretty sure that your face showed confusion. “Is that not what a demon would say to not be expelled from your body?”
Dick and Jason laughed full out, grabbing their stomachs. You were still confused. “(Y/N), there isn’t a demon in Damian. Demon Spawn is a term of endearment that Jason tagged Damian with right after Damian first showed up in Gotham. It fit him pretty well then. He’s mellowed since then,” Dick explained after his laughter died down.
You nodded, still slightly confused. “If you say so.”

Soulmate Pains (P.P./S.M.)
Prompt: @san-penedo really likes Banner!reader, and I am all here to write for it! Also, I’m kinda on a writer’s binge for Peter Parker right now… SOULMATE AU where you feel your other soulmate’s pain whenever they get hurt.
Pairing: Peter Parker x Banner!reader
Words: 1340
Warnings: Pain, Post endgame, No I haven’t seen Far From Home
Notes: Just a short little drabble that I hope is cutesy.
You’ve come to the conclusion that your soulmate is one of the clumsiest people on the face of the planet. Every day there was a new pain and more bruises popping up on you skin than you can count. You father was a little concerned about the new markings you got every day...he’d even suggested that maybe it was another hero. You’d rolled your eyes at his suggestion...if your soulmate was a hero, you would have found him or her by now.
After Thanos’ snap, you’d felt your soulmate turn to dust, and you honestly thought you’d never get to see him or her again. You’d been devastated. You would have been part of one percent of the population to have not met their soulmate before their death. Then, he or she was back five years later and you couldn’t believe the amount of relief that washed through your body. Whoever your soulmate was, though, was getting new injuries while you were fighting against Thanos’ army.
To this day, you had no idea who your soulmate was. You rubbed your shoulder as you walked into the compound’s kitchen. “Soulmate,” your father asked.
“You don’t have to be a smartass about it, Dad.”
He chuckled, his green hand reaching out and patting your other shoulder. “I’m ninety-nine percent sure that he-or she-is another hero. No regular human being could hurt themselves that much.”
“But I’ve met every hero we’ve heard about and none of them have the matching bruises.”
“Maybe they heal faster,” he stated.
“Then why do I still feel it?”
“Because you don’t have faster healing.”
You rolled your eyes, banging your head on the table. “I have your intelligence and your super strength, but you forgot to pass on the healing gene.”
“We can’t all be perfect. At least you didn’t come with an alter ego that you had to learn to live with,” he smirked and placed a cup of coffee in front of you. “Now, I have a team to go run through a simulation. Try not to hurt yourself or your soulmate in the time I’m gone.”
“No promises. If they keep this up, I’ll break an arm so they stop.”
“Be kind to you soulmate, I’m sure they’re really sorry about all the pain they’re putting you through.”
A sigh left your lips as you drank the coffee. You’d have quite a few words with your soulmate after you met them about the pain they’ve put you through. You always minimized how much you got hurt on the job, but they seemed to maximize it.
You choked on your coffee as the wind was knocked out of you. You clutch your stomach, trying to breathe again. “I swear to anyone who’s listening up there, when I meet my soulmate, I’m going to kill them.”
You walked over to the sink, pouring out the rest of your coffee. It seemed that your soulmate was undertaking a battle of their own and you wouldn’t be able to finish the coffee in peace. You made it to the common area before your knees buckled. You hissed out in pain, barely grabbing onto the couch to stop you from falling.
You decided to lay on the couch, not trusting your soulmate to not get hurt in the two minutes it would take to get to your room. Whatever your soulmate was doing, they were getting their ass handed to them. You curled in on yourself as the pains started to intensify. What were they doing?! Tears burned your eyes as it felt as if your whole body was on fire. You’d never felt this much pain coming from your soulmate before.
Then, it all stopped, but the pain was still radiating throughout you. You couldn’t be sure, but you think you were shaking. Everything hurt. “I didn’t realize you’d gotten stuck in that part of the simulation. I’m sorry Peter. That looked like it was very painful.” There was your father, maybe he’d be able to get you something for the pain.
“Yeah, it felt like my whole body was being ripped apart. I hope my soulmate didn’t feel everything,” Peter sighed. “(Y/N)? Are you alright?”
You shut your eyes as you saw Peter start to round the couch. Maybe you could pretend you were asleep and he’d leave you alone. A gentle hand on your arm caused you to jump at the jolt of pain which caused more pain which caused you to groan. “Don’t touch me,” you finally hissed. “Shit,” you mumbled and muttered a few more curses as your muscles clenched.
When you opened your eyes again, your dad was in front of you with Peter standing worriedly behind him. “When did you start feeling this pain?”
“Uh, about twenty minutes ago, I choked on my coffee as it felt like I’d gotten sucker punched in the stomach,” you stated after looking at the clock. “Couple minutes after that, my knees buckled,” you hissed as your father barely touched some of the bruises popping up across your body. “I decided to stay on the couch until my soulmate was done with whatever they were doing, but then it was j-just blinding pain all over my body. Felt like everything was on fire. Still feels like everything’s on fire,” you groaned, eyes closing as you tried to get your breathing to even out again.
“By on fire,” your dad asked.
“I don’t-I don’t know. Like, everything hurt at once, like my body was being pulled apart at the seams,” you ground out.
“Good news, I think I know who your soulmate is,” your father’s small smile was enough to not have you blow your top at him. “Your timeline and description suggests that Bug boy behind me is you soulmate.”
“Great, remind me when I’m able to move again to beat his ass for this,” you sighed.
“Beating me would also cause you pain,” he supplied with a hesitant chuckle.
“Shut up.”

Two Days Later
You couldn’t help but smile at the note left on your bedside table on top of a box of chocolates. It held another cheesy message from your soulmate telling you how sorry he is that he puts you through so much pain. Yesterday you’d finally convinced your dad to sucker punch you so that Peter could feel some semblance of your pain the other day considering he’d never been punched by the Hulk before. And this time, it stuck around because you were still in pain and didn’t have the healing factor that he did.
He’d apologized profusely for the past two days. He kept telling you he tried to be careful, but he was still learning the ropes of being a superhero. You didn’t tell him that you’d already forgiven him and that you couldn’t stay mad at him. His adorable stutter when he was nervous and his cute face caused you to be unable to stay pissed at him.
You walked to the kitchen, smiling when you saw your father already sat at the table with a cup of coffee. Peter was making breakfast, his back turned to you. You walked up to him quietly, giving a small wave to your dad. You snaked your arms around his waist, placing a kiss on the back of his neck before you rested your forehead on his upper back. “Morning to you too,” he laughed.
He turned in your grip, placing a kiss on your forehead. “I would have brought you breakfast, Darling.”
“That’s very sweet Pete, but you don’t need to keep apologizing for the other day. I’m over it.”
“Breakfast in bed isn’t necessarily an apology, I just believe in treating my soulmate right. You are a queen and deserve to be treated as such.”
The smile that broke out on your face was the whole reason he did sweet little things for you during the day. He loved that smile. He pressed a quick kiss to your lips. “Sit down, Sweetheart, breakfast’s almost ready.”

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 5
Five Weeks Later
The days ticked by slowly, much to your chargin. You hadn’t been able to contact Diana for about four weeks now and you were starting to lose it. You were unhappy. You were depressed. You were so very angry. You were angry at yourself, your mother, the god that was bonded to you...you were mad at everyone. Upon your return, you had been treated coldly.
You had expected the response considering you’d been gone for a year, but it was really starting to grate on your nerves. Since you’d been away, you had grown stronger with the god’s power...it was like your people were scared of you. You found that ridiculous. You were the only thing standing between them and Darkseid.
You sighed walking through the palace. Since you’d been here, you either stayed in your room or in the clearing where you could think without anyone interrupting you. You ignored everyone as you walked to the clearing. When they saw you go down there, they knew not to come near you. You laid in the grass, letting it brush against you which gave you a small comfort. I am sure Diana is on a mission. She would contact you. She cares about you.
“Yeah, like she contacted me for the years she left me here with Mother. Not one word from her. She has probably moved on already.” You wiped the tears of frustration away. “I just want someone to care about what I want. I want Mother to understand that I am unhappy and allow me to be happy. I want a sister who does not run away when things seem impossible...a sister that does not think of me after the fact. Is that too much to ask?”
She never forgets about you. You give her the drive to defeat those that would want to hurt you. There has to be a valid reason she would not contact you. She is not one to leave those she loves without so much as a word. You gave her consent to follow Steve Trevor because you knew she cared about him. You covered your face with your hands. You knew Zeus was right, but it still hurt. The problem is not with your sister. You miss Damian.
“Great job, you have figured it out. Can you leave it alone now?”
I do not think that wise. Look on the bright side, we take Darkseid down and your mother has no reason to keep you here. She wants you to protect Themyscira from Darkseid, once he is out of the way you can go back to Damian.
“She will find other ways to keep me here.” You sighed, closing your eyes, relaxing against the ground. You don’t know how long you had been there before the air changed.
You sat up, seeing the sky start to turn black. Parademons. You hurried back to the palace. “Come alive, Parademons on the way!” You tried your communicator, but all you got was static. “My Queen, we need to contact the League, the attack is starting!”
“No time, we must fight the enemy.”
“We will be slaughtered by the enemy!”
“We have defended ourselves from the beginning. We do not need anyone else to do that for us,” she glared at you.
You scoffed, “you cut the communication. You are the reason I can not talk with Diana. Strength is in numbers Mother.”
“I have no time to deal with you. There is an invasion.”
You watched her walk away from you. How dare she. She had no right to control your contact outside of Themyscira. She was putting you all in danger by not letting you contact anyone. They would have no idea Darkseid was back if no one contacted him. “Screw this,” you muttered. “Here is our plan, Z. We are going to fly out of Themysciran borders, we are going to send a message out to the League, then we are going to kick Darkseid’s ass.”
I like this plan.
You pushed yourself faster through the air. You had to do this quick so that you could help your people. As much as you hated being forced to protect Themyscira, you didn’t want your people to be used in Darkseid’s plans. You fought off the few parademons that were tailing you. You wouldn’t let them stop you from getting a message out.
You stopped once you had a signal. You pulled up all the coms. You’d take anyone’s help. “Thunderer to all those listening. Darkseid’s-Shit,” you groaned as a parademon plowed into you. “Themyscira under attack. Requesting backup. Hurry your asses, this invasion is bigger than the last.” You fought off the parademon, closing the link and hurrying back to the fight at Themyscira.
Once you could see the ground of Themyscira again, you sped up, going lower, letting the electrical field around you take care of the parademons overpowering the Amazonians. Get to the center of the fight, I will do the rest.
You did as you were told. Zeus let out a big wave of energy, incinerating the parademons overrunning Themyscira. Through the clearing of the parademons, you could see Darkseid. Stop him and you could stop the invasion. “Target acquired. Let us take him down, Z.”
I thought you would never suggest that brilliant idea.
You took off towards Darkseid, blinding him with lightning and sinking your sword into his chest plate. You pulled away, doing the same to his back. You sheathed your sword flew away from Darkseid as he used his beam. That thing hurt like a bitch, you didn’t want to get hit by it again. May I suggest full contact with his chest to send him tumbling so we can get the sword to cut into more of his armor.
“Good idea.” You flew further away from Darkseid, attacking a few of the parademons overrunning your people. You turned around, gathering the electricity in the air before zooming towards Darkseid’s backside.
You toppled him. You brought your sword forth and placed a few more cracks in his armor before being thrown off Darkseid’s back. You were barely able to avoid the foot that came towards you while you were gathering your bearings but were unable to avoid the hand that swept you into a building. You had two seconds to put an electrical barrier around you before his chest ray hit you.
You screamed as the ray broke the barrier, sending you further into the building. You slowly picked yourself up. That definitely hurt. You growled with frustration, shaking the attack off and going after Darkseid again. Each attack you tried, Darkseid defended against and laid his own attack on you.
You removed part of a wall from off your bruised and bloodied body and stood on shaky feet. “I am prepared for you this time, child. You will not defeat me.”
“Maybe I will be unable to defeat you, but I can do enough damage for others to finish the job,” you growled, air sparking with electricity. The sky opened up slightly, a rush of energy and lightning swallowed Darkseid’s figure. You grasp your sword, attacking while he was struggling with the electricity. You placed several more gaps in his armor. The Supers would be able to tear into Darkseid if you were unable to continue.
You let out a battle cry as you pulsed lightning through your sword on your final blow, hoping to at least slow Darkseid down. You hoped that with the lightning Zeus was providing from above and your added full power lightning, that Darkseid would have a hard time getting up. He collapsed under the energy. You could feel yourself growing weaker as you and Zeus kept the streams of lightning at full power on Darkseid. It felt as if this was your only shot. You wouldn’t be able to do this again anytime soon. You had to give it your all or Darkseid would win.
I can not hold this much longer. “Neither can I Z,” you stated through grit teeth.
Slowly, the lightning closed itself off. You couldn’t avoid the hand that swatted you off Darkseid’s chest. Your sword went sliding away from you after you landed. A blinding pain pulsed through your body as you slowly rolled onto your stomach and made your way to your sword. You could see Darkseid out of the corner of your eye as he slowly moved to get up. “Shit shit shit shit,” you muttered as his recovery seemed to be faster than his.
You hand had just closed around the hilt of your sword as you were picked up and thrown back down, leaving a hole in your shape in the rocky ground. “You try and try and it is valiant, but you will not be able to stop me. I will make this world in my image and all will be thankful.”
You couldn’t move before the beam hit you. You opened your mouth, but no sound was released. You could barely move your limbs and Darkseid laughed. “So you are the protector. You are pathetic.” He picked you up, entering the midst of the battle your people were fighting. You noticed your friends had joined the fray of Amazonians and parademons...backup was finally here. You didn’t know they had arrived already. “You say this is your protector. You believed that this human could defeat me. She used all her power and was still unable to stop me.” He dropped you, stepping on you, pushing you into the ground.
A groan left your lips. Pain, everywhere. Every nerve firing through your body sending pain signals to your brain. His foot lifted and you coughed, trying to get air back into your lungs. “Jackass,” you mumbled. “Come on Z, one more hit to knock him off his high horse,” you whispered.
It would be a pleasure, but I have to warn that you run the risk of killing yourself. Your body can not take much more. You clenched your jaw. “You have restored all of your strength. Anyone who wears the ring will have your powers. My people will not perish...if I do, then at least I did everything I could. Let us aim for his chest beam, that is the only place we have not attacked.”
“I will enjoy taking the life of your protector,” Darkseid was finishing his rant as your hand gripped the sword tightly.
You mustered all your strength. “For Themyscira,” you shouted as you brought the lightning covered sword up and into his chest, right where the beam resided. You pulsed the lightning through him, watching as it lit up his armor. It was finally traveling through him, not just attacking the outside. The chest beam hurt as it hits your skin, but you didn’t stop. You finally figured out something that worked, you wouldn’t give up so easily.
Let go. You can not sustain this. You will die. You pushed more power through the blade. You didn’t matter. If you had to trade your life for the life of the whole of man’s world, you would do so. Damn it, (Y/N)! You have done your damage, the others can finish him off! Your work is not done, you do not get to die today!
“You will give a message to Damian. You will tell him I love him. You will tell him how sorry I am,” you muttered as you felt your energy drain. Black spots started to dance across your eyes. You felt your grip starting to loosen around the hilt of the blade.
You pulsed the last bit of power through the blade before your grip was completely gone. Hopefully you had done enough damage to allow the others to finish off Darkseid. The last thing you saw as you fell was Darkseid staggering. You’d done something right.

Two Weeks Later
Damian barely left your side. He couldn’t stand to let you out of his sight, afraid that if he did, you would disappear. He was afraid that if he left, you would stop breathing. Since the siege Darkseid laid on Themyscira, you had been in a coma. Dr. Mid-Nite had assured him that you were in a coma because your body was trying to heal itself and needed all of its power to do that, but it still hurt him to see you this way.
When he and the others had arrived at Themyscira, they had been overrun with parademons. He was trying to catch sight of you, but he couldn’t focus on finding you without letting his defenses down. Superman had spotted Darkseid, but had told the others you seemed to be handling it. Not that anyone could have made it to you for the sheer number of parademons. He should have fought harder to get to you.
Everyone had been momentarily shocked and impressed when there was suddenly a large bolt of continuous lightning coming from the sky. Everything had stopped as all attention was brought to Darkseid, seeing you attach yourself and send more lightning through him. He was amazed that you could hold that amount of energy for so long. He thought that once the lightning stopped, Darkseid would be struggling to stand...he thought you’d be emerging the victor.
He had been somewhat right. Darkseid couldn’t stand for a little while, but he had enough energy to swat you off like you were just a bothersome fly. Then the parademons were back to attacking and he lost view of you. He’d tried to shout to Clark or Conner to go help you, but it was swallowed up with sounds of battle.
Not long after, Darkseid was holding you by an arm. You hung limply in his hand. Damian felt his heart stop in his chest as he watched you. He was mentally begging you to move, say something sassy...just something to let him know you were alright. He couldn’t pay attention to what Darkseid was saying, he was focused completely on you.
Damian had jumped forward with a shout of protest when Darkseid had dropped you and proceeded to step on you. He loved you, he wouldn’t let you die. He lashed out at the parademons that kept him away from you, from his beloved. While had been proud of you for how you fought back in the end, he had also been filled with dread. From how you had looked, he could tell you were using your last bit of energy to fight off Darkseid, not to mention that you were also taking the brunt of his energy beam.
Superman had caught you after you fell. He had brought you to Damian and Damian had taken care of you. All he knew after that was that Superman, Diana, Conner and Green Lantern had been able to take Darkseid apart piece by piece with everything you’d done to damage his armor. They had won because of you.
Damian’s hand reached out and smoothed your hair back from your face, his other hand clutched tightly to your own. He pressed a kiss to your forehead, sighing. “Please, Habibti. Please wake up. Let me know you’re okay.”
A throat cleared, but Damian didn’t move. “I’m guessing there’s been no change,” Jason stated quietly.
Damian’s eyes went to Jason for a minute before he was looking back at you. “No. I don’t know what to do,” his voice was quiet.
“You are doing everything you can, Damian. We all know that. She is lucky to have you,” Diana moved to be across from Damian, taking your other hand. “You should go get cleaned up. I will sit with her until you return. Make sure to eat. You are not allowed back in until you have showered, eaten, and had at least three hours of sleep.”
Damian swallowed his complaint. It did no good to argue with your sister. It had been the same request every day since it had been announced that you were in a coma. Diana knew that you would want Damian to take care of himself, and Damian knew that as well. “Yes...retrieve me if she awakens.”
