Cookie is loyal, protective and caring. At her core, she always puts her family first and will do anything for them.
At her best, Cookie is driven and becomes less reactive towards those around her. She is able to handle conflict with Lucious and manage the record labels with more confidence and assurance in herself. She is a very talented producer and is sure of her talents, but as she grows, she trusts her instincts more when others challenge her.
At her worst, Cookie can be volatile and gets anxious thinking about the worst case scenario. Sometimes when she is stressed, she lets her emotions get the better of her and will lash out at those she loves. This can be seen with how she treats Hakeem when she feels like he has turned his back on her and the family.
Cookie is willing to put herself in bad situations to try and help her family. She goes away to prison for 17 years as she believes that it will be the best way to keep her children secure. She genuinely believes Lucious will become a star and that his success will allow her children to have a better life away from the hardships they have faced on the streets. She is also loyal to her family and wouldn’t ever consider snitching on Lucious and turning him in as a way of saving herself.
Cookie has a big heart and when she cares about someone will work hard to keep them a part of her circle. Despite Porsha being somewhat incompetent and more problematic than she’d like, Cookie has a soft spot for her and is willing to keep her around. Even when she fires her she ends up hiring her back as her assistant, and believes that she can trust Porsha and therefore extends the same back to her.
She is also the biggest supporter for her artists and is one of the first people to advocate for Tiana and give her the opportunities she deserves. Cookie does the same thing in her relationships with Lucious and her sons as she will always put their interests above other people. Despite Lucious making many mistakes and treating her poorly, she remains loyal to him through many ups and downs.
