UMM I LOVE CANGEL I don’t even know where to start? Ok I do know IT IS THE FACT THAT ANGEL NEVER SMILES FOR ANYONE LIKE HE SMILES FOR CORDY *SPECIFICALLY* like she gets him and he gets her and they make each other their better selves in every way????!! Fuck me up. There are very few ships where each person benefits in a real personal way because of the other; that they lift each other up in equal parts. That angel’s mission became cordy’s to the point that she takes it up even without him. That angel discovers a sense of humor, even about himself, because of her. I just *clenches fist* love them so much

ummmm, tbh cordy isn’t a Top Fave, so i don’t have gushy feelings about her but!!! if you look at her arc from btvs to ats and see the way she accepts such a huge burden and responsibility with grace but doesn’t let it change who she is at her core??? oh boy you will end up crying over cordelia chase i guarantee. 

remember when she spent her entire young adulthood worried about status and living up to a certain image but then realized there were more important things to be concerned with? remember when she stood up to the punishing status quo with her Iconic ‘you’re sheep’ speech? now you’re crying harder.

remember when she become a warrior in her own right. calling out a vampire when he took her back to his home? staking one fearlessly at graduation? learning the ways of the sword like a proper wlw? now you’re on the floor practically drowning in tears

remember when this amazing, strong, flawed, self-aware, and a Important female character was TOTALLY DESTROYED over the stupidest fucking sexist shit?? now you’re screaming in rage. we’re all screaming in rage. the chorus of our screams will not let joss whedon rest.

Ooooh boy lol. Going to put this under a readmore just in case it pops up in mobile tags. (This is post is going to be very anti for both ships)

Delena:

Probably the longest running history i’ve ever had with a notp lol. Their peak was in Seasons 1-3 imo. I didn’t like them back then either but I can admit that there was some physical chemistry in that period at least, and they even had scenes that I didn’t completely hate. I think Ian and Nina breaking up definitely effected the chemistry because most of their scenes in seasons 4 and beyond look just downright terrible and awkward lol. And there was so much messy and dumb shit with them??? The  sire bond, that whole scene where Elena immediately forgave him for killing one of her friends??? Damon FLAT OUT calling their relationship toxic?? Elena acting like a psycho after Damon “died” and erasing all of her memories of them? And the push and pull between them throughout the show, in the later seasons especially was just so annoying. I feel like the writers couldn’t make up their own minds about them half the time tbh. And I still believe that the original plan was there to eventually be a SE endgame but they let the fans bully them. (I don’t ship SE either but…I sensed what I sensed). 

But overall I think I hated the shippers even more than the actual ship by the end. And even though they technically got their endgame, I can at least gleefully remember that their final scenes were unsatisfactory and awful. 

Klaroline: 

This ship was just…so dumb lol. That’s all I can say about it. Klaus went from not giving Caroline even a second glance to being obsessed with her in 0.1 seconds. Literally out of nowhere. And I hate that Tyler ended up getting treated like shit because of it. (It also completely ruined Klaus as a character for me. He’s tolerable on TO but I sometimes still have trouble liking him because of all of the damage done by KC). 

And the fact that people try to paint it as something that it wasn’t also annoys me. There was that article that came out about Klaus and Caroline’s “relationship” being honored in the finale and I was literally like….what relationship??? It was a one-sided obsession. Caroline had sex with Klaus once but then told him to leave right after lol. She didn’t give a fuck about him at the end of the day. But people try to paint them as one of TVD’s “epic romances”. PLEASE lol.

Let's get messy lol: Dramione, Harmony

You’re going to get me in trouble with some of my mutuals lol. Going to put this under a readmore too because I have people who follow me from both ships who I do truly love and don’t want to get into an argument with XD

Dramione:

So….I do think the concept of this ship is interesting. I’ve enjoyed fic of it from time to time and I think I could have possibly dug it if that was the route J.K Rowling took. But…it wasn’t. And I already have the slow burn ship I love with Romione. 

I do find Draco as a character overrated. People say he had development in HBP but I just saw it as a kid being way in over his head. I don’t think anyone in their right, rational minds ever thought that Draco was pure evil or on the same level as Voldemort or Bellatrix. He was just a bully that got DEEP into stuff that he never wanted to be involved in because at the end of the day he was…a bully, not an evil murderer. I was never emotionally invested in him either way because I think J.K Rowling only wrote him to be Harry’s school rival and nothing more. 

Harmony: 

I don’t hate this ship but I personally always find it difficult to romantically ship something when one of the characters canonically refers to the other as “like a sibling” lol. (Which is what Harry said about Hermione in DH…that she was like his sister). 

But I also think that people tend to make their relationship out to be a little closer than it was in canon, and I think that’s partially the fault of the movies. (The movies seemed to have this really weird and annoying pro Harry/Hermione and anti Ron agenda. Idk). Harry and Hermione loved each other, I will never dispute that (the golden trio in general is one of my favorite fictional friendships of all time) but I don’t really think they GOT each other very well at times. When Harry was fighting with Ron in GOF, there was a quote where he thought about how much he missed Ron even with Hermione’s company because she didn’t really understand him the way Ron did…and in DH, Harry and Hermione barely spoke to each other after Ron left. (And i’m not making that up, there is a direct quote describing that in the book). The point is, even though Harry and Hermione obviously loved each other, I think they were both a little closer to Ron than they were each other. And it pisses me off when the movies (and the fandom) downplay Ron’s importance in the trio.
