turbo fire - week 2, day 1
so i missed two work outs last week. i did today's fire 45. it was pretty good. one of my fave work outs so far because the music was super pumped up. the choreography is getting easier and easier which is great because i can focus on proper form and the intensity a lot more.
today i also did yesterday's work out. core 20 and stretch 40. wow the 20min core work out was pretty intense. i was BEYOND surprised though at how much i loooooooooooved the stretch work out. i thought 40mins of stretch/yoga would be boring and dreadful, but WOW complete opposite. it was so relaxing and i love the idea of my flexibility improving. she also adds more intensity the more you do the poses, so by the end i was sweating a little bit.
can't wait for tomorrow's work out!!!
Core 20 luncheon + cake!
9\13\11:
A luncheon fit for the untamed tummies of the multitude of core 20. Three individuals will take their leave tomorrow morning. Only thing is, one of them showed up... Oh, well. Oh yeah, it's a belated birthday celebration for Travis and me. YUP.
So, there we were, ten members of core 20, ready to eat like grown-ups that have been deprived of food for hours on end. That's what we did.
Go home. Food coma? Maybe...but there's cake! CAKE! I packed up my camera, but it was almond something something. Again, I appreciate the cake, Kathy...and lighting the candles and not smashing my face into a slice and cutting the cake. 0.0 and yeah.
I'm hella tired.
meh..
.. I haven't posted anything in a while, I've merely just been reblogging.
today marks the begining of my 7th week of turbo fire. since jury duty has gotten me out of whack i've been fumbling around with my workouts but tonight I've seem to have caught up. I did Fire 55 and Core 20. I would've added Stretch 40 but since that class is the epitome of all evil I decided to leave that alone and MAYBE do stretch 10 4 times lmao. but everything seems to be going well. I've kind plateaued at 162, but 2 more pounds and I will have lost 20 pounds and hopefully that will help with this PCOS foolishness that I've been fortunate enough to have -_-.
Looking back on week 1 of turbo fire I've seen a lot of changes not only in my energy level when doing fire class, but in the way my clothes fit. YAAYYY! Now if only I could get these cravings under control. I'll admit they're not as bad as they used to be but man when they come, they come hard, like Jack Bauer going after the bad guy, they won't stop until they're satisfied.
I've been taking metformin for exactly 3 weeks now and I have yet to notice any changes or side effects, yep thats right no explosive diarrhea for me =]. I'm convinced that people who've experienced any side-effects as a result of taking Metformin are feeling these things because
they're not eating when they take metformin. Taking metformin alone agitates your bowels
they're drinking coffee. [which is probably the main reason why people are complaining of diarrhea]. Coffee agitates your bowels, so drinking coffee & taking metformin is a sure fire way to get explosive diarrhea. If you can't live without your daily morning coffee, take your metformin at night while you're having dinner that way it can work in your system while you're asleep and you can still be a coffee addcit, although you still might want to cut back on the amount of coffee you drink. it's really no good for you any way.
they're waiting too long to eat. Metformin is can lower your blood sugar, so eating on a normal schedule, for example, every 3 hours or every 4 hours will benefit you [with our without the metformin]. for those who are thinking well I cant eat every 3-4 hours, in between meals, with or without metformin, you're supposed to have a snack, some peanuts, cashews, fruits, yogurt, etc.
for those wondering about weight loss with Metformin, I honestly don't think it's helped me lose any weight, I'm taking a low dose [500mg] I hear 1500mg+ really gets things jumping. I was going to try it but I was scared to I decided to ease my body into it, plus I prefer taking 1 pill a day as opposed to taking 2-3 pills every few hours.
I can't think of anything else to write so I'm going to jump in the shower and rest up so I can be alert for jury duty and not fall asleep during testimonies like I did today, but more than likely i'll be back here reblogging to my hearts content after my shower =P
Day 6... Great workout today!
Today I did the Core 20/Stretch 40 workout today and it felt great! The core workout was super hard and I know my abs are gonna be killing me tomorrow. I was wondering what 40 minutes of stretching was gonna be like… I know now! The best way to explain it was an intense relaxation. It was hard but it felt so good. My toe is not hurting at all today which is good because I need to workout but kinda scary because I think it should be hurting. Maybe it’s mind over matter!
Claressa is not working out this weekend because she is spending time with her family for Easter. She has really got me thinking about my goals and what would be important to me in that situation. Family is important and she has a young family of her own. I thought of all the times that I will have to make the choice between following my plan or spending time with the people I love. A great example is a wedding that I am going out of town for in June. I will be gone for 4 days/3 nights and it will be difficult to get my workouts in on schedule. I think I will do what needs to be done. I have a portable DVD player and my workout clothes will go anywhere. I think I can do this around my life. It may take waking up an hour and a half earlier than I usually would and taking a few more showers than usual but I think the reward will be worth every sacrifice that I have to make. I also realize that not everyone has my same desire and my same level of commitment and I respect that. I am here to support my amigos through their journey, doing it their way, as long as they are happy, that makes me happy.
