To be honest, I didn’t ship the Corinthian and Johanna Constantine in the first season. Maybe the idea of a supernatural investigating duo did cross my mind once or twice, but I didn’t ship them. Then season 2 came and you know what, this pairing convinced me. There’s just something helplessly endearing about a jaded occult detective tormented by nightmares, who’s in constant fear she’ll hurt those around her finding genuine connection and affection in a nightmare personification, who’s always been curious about human experiences and yearning to taste them, and also as a bonus, is really difficult to hurt so her biggest fear is somewhat soothed. Corinthiana, to me, is a pairing that seems out of left field at first glance, but really works when the two characters get together. An original spin-off of these two, not Nightmare Country adaptation or taking elements from it, where Cori and Jo investigate and solve supernatural crimes while navigating their new relationship, would be awesome.

And I’m really happy that the show made Cori x Johanna canon instead of dangling hints of a romantic relationship but not making them an official couple. If they had done that, those who’d got the hints and shipped them would still have been bashed or worse, harassed bc “how dare you ship a ‘canon’ gay character with a woman?” This has happened when Cori is shipped with another female character/female OC/reader. And it’s not like Corinthiana shippers/enjoyers don’t get bashed now from time to time, but at least the pairing is canon 🤷‍♀️.
