How does Corzo drift between dimensions? Does he just take portals that lead him to odd places, or does something about his nature let him do that? Also, how do all the weapons and stuff he finds follow him from place to place too? Most mods don't answer these kinds of dumb questions but I figure if anyone would, it'd be you, lore nerd that you are. <3
It’s not a very satisfying answer, but the truth is that Corzo’s just an observant fellow and he’s picked up a lot of tricks over the years by watching different people and creatures, so he’s figured outdimensional hopping through a lot of different means. He can jump through portals, he can hitch a ride on an unaware otherdimensional critter, he can do a ritual to form gateways, he can head to a Hell or a Heaven and jump out onto another Earth, or he can just…do a stroll sideways and phase out.
For the weapons, this is actually one of the reasons I intentionally went with a sort of low-tech, ordinary weaponset. I wanted weapons that would reasonably be commonplace in any given setting; the weapons don’t really follow him, they’re just there. The Thunderhawk might be special and unique, but a double-barrel shotgun or a grease gun is less unique–one is a common staple of home defense and hunting, the other is something easily craftable and common for DIY enthusiasts and black market salesmen.
The place where this becomes a questionmark is with Basilissa--picking her up, logically she should be with him the whole time, right? This is admittedly where gameplay and story kind of segregate a little bit.But after some thinking, I figured a good justification would be her getting sealed away. This means Corzo when breaks the seal, he only breaks the seal on THAT plane. Whenever they travel to a new plane, she gets sealed again and so he needs to find her to break the seal once more for her. She’s constantly being locked away again and again, which doesn’t do much for her temper.
He can hold onto equipment he’s really fond of (hence the cvars to spawn with different weapons, including Basilissa), but most of the time he just goes with the flow and lets whatever happens happen.
