Do I appreciate or despise the lack of phone call culture I wonder?

#just got an audio message that has me booking my next therapy appointment #however #it would have been much more worse was it a call #Counterpoint:#Call culture as opposed to message culture #feels much more less alienating #in my worse moments I always end up calling my friends #it gives me a much more tangible sense of support and company than other channels of communication #(we are working under the assumption that I cannot see my friends face to face for some reason)#so... idk #there's no conclusion #I wish I could be like my grandma who picks the phone and proceeds to laugh for hours #but it would scare me to be one call away from anyone in the sense that I don't have the emotional strenght to handle whatever people could #throw at me #Also I know I'm making this sound much more dramatic than it is #Technically everyone is still one phone call away even if my generation isn't keen on phone calls #but idk
