Six Sentence Sunday
hello! thank you all for the tags over the weeks; I love to see what you all are doing.
Yesterday I posted about a little one-shot I wrote for the Carry On Christmas in August fest. I had the idea months ago but did not think to finish it in connection with the fest until @ileadacharmedlife and @onepintobean were doing sprints; I think it's so much better set at Christmas! It features: feelings, working out of depression, drinking at a pub, karaoke, ugly Christmas sweaters, and threatened (but avoided) arson. I hope you enjoy it because I had a lot of fun with it!

This season has brought me some of the worst moments of my life and I’d be lying if I said my chest doesn’t ache thinking of them even now. But I’m walking back to a sticky little table, back to my best friend who is here and whole and not in America for now. Back to her boyfriend who makes her happy and is becoming one of my best friends too. And back to Baz. Because whatever else this season brought me, it brought me him, didn’t it? I have a pint in one hand and his very full, very pink drink in the other, and I’m smiling to myself, thinking of the man I’m bringing it to. And Baz, my boyfriend, the love of all my lives, the most fuckable person alive who somehow loves me back, is glaring at me as I squeeze past people to get back to our table. “Having fun?” he says. He’s really much too sneery for someone who’s being hand-delivered a drink that I know he only asks for because he thinks it’s funny to watch me scream for a Sex on the Beach in a crowded pub.
