Dear coxswain
You are better than your weight
You are better than forcing yourself down in weight
You do more than just sit in a boat
Your worth does not correlate with your weight
You need to be okay with being over 110 if it means being phisically and mentally healthy. You MUST be okay with the idea of that weight.
And if your coach is telling you to go down in weight despite health risks and despite how you see your body, that coach isn't work it
If you cannot be healthily under the weight set for you to be on the team QUIT THE TEAM.
Lightweight rowing was the most stressful time for me as far as weight goes. The vision of my body changed drastically. I didn't eat sometimes, and yes, that was my fault and not my coaches. But it was WRONG, and it was bad for me. Even with good coaches, we do bad things. If you cannot healthily be a coxswain or rower you must quit.
No team or sport is worth physically and mentally destroying yourself.
